@@yesnonoyessir I believe Genji can Deflect the Suzu if it's thrown at him, yes. If Kiriko throws it straight down at the ground (as most Kirikos do), then no, Genji can't Deflect that. It's the same logic as Genji being able to Deflect Pharah Rockets if she shoots at him directly, but not being able to Deflect Pharah Rockets aimed at his feet. Hence why good Pharah Players always shoot at Genji's feet.

Actually in the old times I hated genji, when he always comes from behind, has shift to get behind u again, and the deflect, and overall hard to hit when he jumps on ur head... but at least if ur ready, or team helps u, u can get him. Her small hitbox size is a HUGE factor for why she's busted. But it doesn't get mentioned enough. Same with Ana. Tiny hitbox, very hard to hit.

As a support player, we do not claim this man. Supports are essential DPS with an added healing mechanic. The moment he said soldier heal was more broken than all other healing, i immediately ignored everything he said afterwards cause he's clearly on drugs

I hate when people take the words of someone being an absolute idiot then extrapolate that to the other players... I've had dps and tank players say ridiculous things as well - it's just a person problem, not a role problem lol. Had a winston say "ana nade saves me there" after he jumped into 4 people IMMEDIATELY on the first push attack on highway past the first corner all the way to the damn gate. People can take anything and force their own perspective if they really want to lol. True, if i were a better ana i'd somehow know you're jumping in that far and try to push up and somehow position for the nade to hit him--- etc.

I just watched a support player say in real time that Genji deflect, able to be pierced by most AOE and beam attacks, an ability that only blocks FORWARD, has better defensive power than suzu
Only category it's better is it lasts longer but the overall value of suzu is way higher in everything it can do.

Dude, on literally any other hero that Kiriko would be “inting” to go after Metro. But he’s playing Kiri, so it’s not inting. He literally spelled out the issue for himself… even the very strong hero Sojourn is making an “inting” play to go back and fight Metro, so why is the Kiriko not inting then? Because she is so safe with her get out or jail free cards. He knows this implicitly but has not realized it explicitly.

@@Literally___Meit’s slang for “intentionally feeding”. In the clip the sojourn kinda just slides in at metro, which is bad because she used her mobility to engage a fight that she ends up losing. That’s why the sojourn was inting, meaning “intentionally feeding”
She's not inting because she's coming from spawn and is forced into the engagement by a back line attacker. Inting would imply that she was 1) out of possition (comming back from spawn definitely doesn't constitute that), and 2) willfully putting herself in that situation when there's a clear disadvantage to the plan of attack (she's getting spawn camped well trying to regroup with her team, and in no way picked this fight). Sojourn is inting because she's entering the fight with her movement ability, which puts her on a predictable travel path to be shot well simultaneously depriving her of an ability to pull out of the fight should it not go her way. At the end of the day Metro was inting because he was camping their spawn with solder, who specializes in sustained damage over time, not 1v1 duels. Metro Lost because he essentially fought a 2v1 due to bad positioning.

For me it's weird, tank has the shortest que time on comp and longest que time for support but in QP it's vise versa

2. His comment was actually in opposition to the Kiri video's statement that soldier's healing is the most OP healing ability. So he joked that he'd rather it get 'balanced' (sarcasm) by swapping it with lamp or suzu which according to the video are less strong healing abilities, because that would totally make soldier more balanced and less OP (SARCASM)
Baptiste is better than soldier in most cases. He can elevate upward which is much better to avoid damage than soldier's run. Bap does an equitible amount of damage, only difference is soldier can do faster dmg with his rockets, but bap on the other hand can do double dmg with his ult. Baptiste also has more healing abilities to keep himself alive whilst he DPS's, compared to soldier.
That right there is actual logic as to why Bap is much stronger than Soldier as a hero than can output DPS. Saying "bap is stronger than soldier' and choosing to play soldier (you can't swap off soldier to baptiste, it's a different role) doesn't disprove the fact that bap is stronger, because he has a lower skill ceiling, more healing but still a similar damage output

People like to hate on metro like he isn't better than 95% of the playerbase. Kiri having no risk is so stupid. Overwatch is fun when you're putting it all on the line, and recent character designs and balance decisions are against that.

Hitbox is one thing. Saying kunai has a massive hitbox is kinda stupid. Yall believe hitscan is harder to hit than kunai and it shows. Once you reach the top of GM everyone has good aim. Obviously even mercys pistol is gonna be called op with her "insane pistol hitbox". But what's more consistent? Spamming kunais or spamming a fully automatic rifle? If you stand still in your rank there's your problem why you probably think kiriko is the devil and not someone who literally does kirikos job but 1000% more efficient, but I'll let you guess which support has the higher win percentage

But no one compared kiri to bap, we were talking about kiri herself and the guy compared her dmg Specifically to a dps hitscan, which is dumb. Ppl are right in this regardless of bap or any hero for that matter, her hit box is rly small and her kunai large which is quite frustrating, but the real issue is her ability to deny every threat on CD. And that's what is different compared to bap. Bap stays alive but is stuck there having to fight. If you dive bap and force his heal, he won't have a burst for his team, if you force his lamp even better. Then depending on who you are playing, you can either keep aggro on him or back away and either way it's gonna be valuable. With kiri tho, you don't have the option to fight, if she wants to leave she leaves and now you're out of position. As for suzU vs lamp, you can Boop or pull bap out of the field, you can aoe both at the same time and stuff, you cannot do anything about suzu tho.

My main gripe is people putting kiri on the chopping block front row first seat. To me at least, she does deserve nerfs I won't deny it. But I do believe there are way more volatile heros who need to be looked at before they touch kiri. But basically hit them all together, don't just use kiri as a scapegoat since illari is still an issue only that there has been 0 talk just because she was banned from competitive for her bug. Baps immo got buffed for 0 reason, while kiri was getting balances to suzu. I'm just saying even ana is seeing much more success than kiri after her nerf. Almost every support needs a nerf, but that's a whole conversation about how we need a blanket healing and damage nerf for everyone. Instead blizzard decides to not admit when they're wrong and just give everyone a buff without understanding the consequences of every characters dynamic (Hanzo can't one shot anymore. I'm pretty sure no one had that much of a problem with hanzo since he was fairly inconsistent and matchup dependant. Flankers are eating as well). It's a whole mess atm but I hope kiri gets a nerf... but I pray bap and illari feel it the most. Once you're at top 500, consistency is everything. Hitscans are always getting the most done, and at our level anyone can easily point and click

DPS players all have main character syndrome from being the most impactful role in OW1. That philosophy didn’t satisfy enough players to maintain and grow the player base and failed. When 33% of the players in a match decide the outcome 50%+ of the time it’s just dumb.

Amount of time when I catch random kunais to my head among the battle while nanoblading is astonishing. People loves to joke about Hanzo's logs, but nobody speaks about Kiriko's isekai truck size kunais. And that is with the fact that on Hanzo you should know how to aim and ready to take damage if you decide to stand still to stabilize your aim. While Kiriko... She just dances like Zero two from that tik tok music clip and lands 3 headshots in a row evading everything. That bs
Also about her escape kits. I had Kiriko that decided to attack me in straight line when I am as Hanzo was pocketed by Mercy. She just attacked me, nullified my counter head shot with suzu, gave me one headshot and just teleported behind wall to her team. SUPPORT ATTACKS POCKETED DPS WITH ONESHOT POTENTIAL WITH ZERO REPRECUSSIONS. I don't understand how people can not comprehend that support is called support for a reason. If support have a DPS potential then it should have the cons of it, like Zenyatta. Dude shoots balls to the face right and left, but what is the cost ? The least mobile support/char in the game. Kiriko not only have ridiculous DPS potential unproportional to her role but also have 0 cons and 3 escape buttons. Ridiculous
She does have clear cons, like her projectile size being so big that it doesn't even really help her land shots, except additional shots as a function of mostly luck/chance (which won't change game outcomes), but makes people really-really angry about her balancing. That's all a large projectile means really, it means more lucky hits, but you can't reliably hit lucky shots, and the problem is exacerbated greatly by the projectile speed being so slow. Additionally, all hitboxes are very large, so all projectiles, even small ones share the same issue
If they only nerfed projectile size, I don't think you would see a difference as large as you would expect, or if you did, it would mostly be a perceived or qualitative change. Mostly since I don't think Kiriko players would perform noticeably worse for the most part or at all at higher ranks
Her utility is very overtuned though, it's similar to Baptiste, but people don't really get as angry at Baptiste. Good ult, good shift, and good E, decent healing speed, vertical movement, etc. (she's actually very similar to him I guess) Baptiste is still far easier to carry or stomp with though (maybe only because of his overtuned weapon), despite Kiriko being far more annoying for weak mental
Not to mention Zen's HUGE hitbox. I don't know if there's a single character in the game that I'm more confident to jump (unless I know the player is good from past experience) compared to zen. You can kill that mf anywhere, anytime.

Playing mostly Lucio for the entirety of Overwatch 2. Its genuinely quite frustrating because support players don't understand what a main or flex support is. Nor understand that part of support is enabling your team to win fights and help get vital picks. Instead the majority of them are braindead healbots, who fabricate details of the game, think singular abilities should outdo an ultimate as "counterplay" when it isn't even a skill shot and are heavily catered to with duels.
I have to actually take risks if I take a duel against a Soldier, a Hanzo, Genji or Tracer as Lucio. Because I can't just teleport behind a wall, have a two tap and a burst heal of 80 that also is an immortality. You have to actually outplay them, make yourself harder to shoot and take risks for the duel. Just for a Kiriko to instantly TP to them and one tap you with a kunai after using suzu. Which just removes some of the value I would've gotten from making a good play and taking a duel as Lucio. The exact thing can be applied to every other DPS hero in the game.
Then you got support picks like Moira who literally have no skill expression that can win duels for free in metal ranks at the skillfloor of the game. Because people aren't good at aiming and are mechanically bad, they end up losing the duel to a Moira. Moira has an autoaiming ability that does I believe 50 damage per second (correct me if I'm wrong) and it has a 0.6 meter lock on for aiming. Most people in lower ELOs are gonna lose that fight, because the Moira just does consistent damage that adds up quickly while not having to put any effort into dealing the damage. Then in higher elos where people can aim, you end up just losing duels to an unkillable Baptiste or an unpunishable Kiriko. Because they have immortality abilities, insane burst healing and can take fights with next to no risk. I play Lucio (a main support) and think they're insanely unfun to play against, because I just can't even duel them unless they've used cooldowns. Imagine how much worse it feels for the hardstuck plat Genji player or a mid-masters Tracer player.

I think moira suck does 30 damage per second, but when combined with the damage orb it's closer to 50 or 60 per second. Its one of the symptoms of not having Off-Tank to help with that and 5v5 in general encouraging individual gameplay over teamwork so people arent looking out for each other as much as they would in 6v6. Even as a Support main, I prefer 6v6 for all the reasons Sam mentioned and lack of peel in 5v5 is one of those reasons.

I give up on being a main Ana because of Kiriko. Kiriko having suzu makes her broken and everything else about her is really good like her damage but it’s still fine with her kit , but the ability being the best in the game and canceling so much of the characters and making whole ults and ability’s useless is why it’s so good , she’s extremely versatile, and as long as that ability is in Kirko's kit she’s broken as a result.
I just switched from Ana to her because why even bother putting in the effort when she can do more with less effort. You hit people with anti and she can heal them for 110 while removing it compared to the 60 you do and now 3 second duration since it got nerfed 😂
Tell me about it dude, i barely pick ana anymore as my first pick on support and I have almost 600 hours on her and 100+ on lucio and zen used to hover between high diamond and low masters back in ow1. But in ow2 i got back into masters after a couple of seasons including the SR boost Blizz gave everyone i think in season 3. I was struggling to climb higher than m3 till I picked up kiriko, with only 25 hours on her I hit Gm5 end of season 6 ow2. I love kiriko but I wont sit her and deny how busted she is.

This guy was probably a plat/diamond OW1 player, who climbed after the massive influx of new players in OW2 and now thinks he knows what he's talking about. Kiriko is by far the most damaging player they have ever added to the game. Her abilities are detrimental on so many levels. The fact that you can make a great play on Echo, but then have a no-skill Kiriko teleport across the map, and YOU end up dead for it, will never not be dumb. At least with Bap's immo field, you could account for where the Bap was playing and punish people that were out of position. They need to delete this hero. She only takes away from the fun of the game whilst adding nothing. Atrocious hero design.

Just drop the invulnerable, and make tp line of sight; you could even give the tp the range back.
The invuln is the only part of the ability that makes it so frustrating.
Also kiri could still flank and offangle, she’d just have to make sure there’s an ally she can see, and could even coordinate with teammates for deeper flanks to be an exit for her. Makes it risky but effective. Right now it’s effective but not risky. It’s the same reason they rework sombra.

I dont understand why they keep making supports DPS who can heal, with a ton of movement abilities. They need a more clear design philosophy if they're going to have 'classes'
The thing I dont see get enough talking points are hitboxes and strafe speed/pattern. Coming from a Kiri player (only mid t500) part of the reason they have such an advantage in duels, outside of having 2 get out of jail free cards, is that fact her strafe is ridiculously hard to hit. There's other characters with really good strafes, like Bap, but he doesnt share her insanely small hitbox as well. Adjusting that would do alot of the work on its own imo. Then take the immo off of suzu and then i think the character is fine

I hate that kunai hitbox is so big, that you can just spam it and get value. On top of that survivability it makes kiriko infuriating to duel.

They are slightly bigger, I main mercy and typically aim for the head (due to experience from other FPS games) and sure Mercy has huge hit boxes on her blaster shots, but Kiri's Kunai are slightly bigger and it's legit ridiculous, the hit needs to be reduced, I'd say her Amatesaru skin has a good metric for how big her hit box is, the Kunai with the halo.
Mercy and Kiri's weapons just need a slight hit box tweak, but for Mercy, reducing the blaster hit box should only be for her normal blaster, Valk blaster does visually change the bullets, so it would make sense to keep the big hit box for Valk only
But Kiri's just little kunais, not a gun. She needs to have her hit box tweaked 😅

The skill imbalance is extremely punishing right now for tank. You have to be so much more skilled on tank to climb; at least certain tanks. Maybe if I just played hog or mauga every game it could be easier.

I understand what you’re saying that Metro’s flank is a play that used to work and it’s stupid that Kiriko can take duels with no risk. You’re right that in theory, it’s a smart play, but he KNOWS they have a Kiriko that can duel him for free. So if he knows that, this flank is no longer a smart play. Kiriko can be a busted hero and Metro’s play can also be foolish. These things aren’t mutually exclusive
Personally, as a support only player, I think the way a lot of supports feel is caused by how strong the characters are. Aside of the delusions we may be having, there is a lot of expectation people put on themselves after seeing all the great players destroy.
So as a plat support, I expect myself to handle duels I normally wouldn't dream of taking in Overwatch 1. It's like we have to keep everyone alive and kill everyone at the same time. And when you force yourself into thinking that, then any ability the enemy has is a counter to you, it's too strong.
A lot of the hero's OPness is wasted with lack of player's skill, but thinking our character would be nerfed in the current state of the game, makes it seem like we'd have to do even more with less tools. Obviously it's stupid and I think we would all have a better time if supports were less impactful and had less expectations.
Support getting mega nerfed (not a support nerf bait) or 6v6 are the only ways to correct support. Changing numbers doesn't fix the ability power problem.
6v6 is the only answer. They can't delete one tank slot and expect supps to not be overpowered or who is going to peel for them ?
This just shows how high the overwatch skill floor actually is to allow these kinda players to be able to play and make them think that they are good enough to make comments about the game balance.

On the kunai body shot damage, I've always hated how they framed the higher headshot multiplier as a bonus to headshot. Just no, that's not how it works. The headshot damage is the meaningful number, that's what you will balance it around as a threshold, it's not a bonus to headshot. It's a NERF to body shot. How can the developers not understand this, it was already addressed way back when widow could body shot 1shot a 150 zenyatta, that was what made them change widow crit multiplier.
Call it what it is, Kiriko was made with a nerfed body shot.
Not to mention how some for whatever reason believe that if you want supports nerfed or altered they’ll say “you just want them to be useless/healbots”. Like what?
The only thing i'd say instead of blanket nerfs there needs to be select nerfs to the busted supports like Kiri and Bap. No one is complaining about Zen, Brig, Moria, or Lucio. Hell even Illari now that her projectile size was nerfed isn't even that bad anymore. She's still good but not OP.

Discord still should not just be a debuff easily thrown on someone (tank) that boost dmg especially from the entire team. At least there is better counterplay now but even still, forcing the tank to play behind cover so much to the point they don’t get much value due to 1 easy ability with NOW very short cooldown is stupid. Also they gave him more health when he didn’t need it.
Brig is still very effective at killing dive and healing her team while dmg/peeling at the same time due to inspire. Either reduce the range or just take away inspire.
Lucio is mostly fine but his boop should boop further (think they are buffing that actually) but it needs a slightly longer cooldown. Having it on such a short cooldown can kill dive tank engages too consistently and is easy to use to do so.
Moira is just a terrible character. Tbf if half the supports were nerfed she wouldn’t be as overshadowed but she is still a terrible character. Encourages people to not try to improve at the game which is dumb.
@@silentdc404 There are many abilities which make the tank or anyone take cover. Taking cover is something smart players do, you act like using natural cover is a bad thing for tanks. The current version of discord is totally fair and has counterplay.
As for brig she's good at a very specialized thing which is peeling for her other supports and countering dive. She's not broken or overpowered. Her stun is gone outside ultimate.
As for moira yes her design is braindead but there needs to be some characters with a super low skill ceiling for lower ranked players it is what it is, not every support can need a ton of skill and knowledge to play like Ana.

I know I’m in the minority of players when I say Soldier is a bit too strong (especially with damage boost), but it is CERTAINLY NOT because of Biotic Field!! His primary fire damage and 6 second Helix CD are what make him feel oppressive at times. I have literally never felt “cheated” by a Soldier because he used Biotic Field. Suzu, Swift Step, Immorality Field and Regen Burst on the other hand…

so kiriko's attacks have a large hurtbox and her hitbox is small it's usually pretty frustrating to play against, but mostly the problem is how she can just go on mad flanks with almost no risk.
I play support and I'm getting an immense level of cringe from hearing "healing station is more powerful than any healing ability" and comparing suzu to ultis and expecting a mid length CD to be a guaranteed counter.
The only comparable cooldown to suzu is kind of bubble as it cleanses others and makes them pretty tanky and that's NOT AN AOE
"bubble is 2 seconds where you can't damage them" actually 2 junkrat shots get through a bubble in about 0.7 seconds with 0 help from many of the other 4 players though yes zarya gets charge, but it happens, you purge someone's anti and they just get burned by incoming burst, this game is so bursty sometimes.

Suzu is a definite problem because it lets you be able to make mistakes that you SHOULD be punished for but won't. It promotes bad habits and ill gameplay.
I don't like her teleport either but I don't see it as much as a problem as what she's able to do with her suzu ability.
This guy compared Suzu to Zarya bubble without even realizing Suzu has AoE invulnerability/cleanse and bubble is only single target…
Bubble also doesn't heal 80 health (or 120 if it cleanses something)
I interpret a lot of this as a doom player. The most frustrating part of suzu is that it just has the weird invulnerable passthrough you shit. I have no problem with a cleanse and a heal. The heal could literally be bigger I don’t give a fuck. I can’t stand punching someone with my hard to hit ability using my slam cancel or something to hit a ridiculous punch on an ashe, only for before I connect kiri happens to tp and suzu them and I hit nothing, lose punch, have no Shields, and take now damage from the target i should have stunned and maybe killed + Kiriko. It’s just ridiculous to try to play around it, like she could be coming back from spawn and go through the wall to make that save, without even knowing it would be a save. It’s just absurdly difficult for me to know that kinda shit.
Zarya bubble I at least still knock them all back, Tp suzu could just invalidate a perfect 4 man punch and then make me die for playing right.
I think kiri has the best ult in the game.
Orisa ult was a damage boost for your team and had the highest team fight win rate in ow1 (and it could be canceled) . Kiri ult gives is a damage, heal, cooldown, and movement boost for your entire team.(and can't be canceled).
The fact that her ult is amazing in addition to the rest of her kit is crazy to me.
20:00 another thing this dude messes up is this. While I think his comparison between invulnerabilities and healing is a fair one, I don’t think he gets the larger point. 70 Healing “stays with you” and you will be able to take that 1 extra Cass hit until he hits you, while suzu is temporary and if he were to miss anyway, it doesn’t guarantee value and the Cass can shoot and second time and take you out, whereas if you healed his second shot would only hot the HP. The massive point he’s missing though, is suzu for that half second can allow you to survive UNLIMITED damage. Theoretically, you could be stuck in a grav and survive both a junk tire and dva bomb. MULTIPLE players could survive those. Obviously it’s a rare scenario and the opponents would be majorly misplaying to use all those ults at once (also Dva/Zarya at the same time won’t happen unless open Q), but the point is that the burst impact is negated. Many heroes will get one chance in a teamfight to make a play that sways it to your team, and it’s terrible suzu can not only prevent but also undo many of these plays. At least when they dropped Bap you could just play out of his LOS, but with a Kiri you can’t keep tabs on her and take a fight on the other side of multiple walls, she can always TP through and suzu. It’s just a terrible mechanic and should only be a cleanse and the way she burst heals. The invulnerability/intangibility is just too much. Also TPing thru walls just prevents counterplay and makes her FAR too forgiving.

*can be pierced by a multitude of abilities and attacks
*does not prevent AOE dmg
*does not actually deflect melee attacks, only blocks them
*does not heal
*Genji cannot attack while deflecting
*only deals dmg when enemy player makes a mistake

only prevent death but not damage.
All damage should come through and turn into recoverable health while still granting the immunity to status effects...
CC will still work... not stuns but just boops.
So Rein shatter would do the raw damage but they wouldnt fall.
Rein charge will catch the player but they cannot die from the wall slam.
Taking damage after the immortality frames will immediately clear the recoverable health on the 1st instance of damage plus any overkill damage.
It will still immediately recover the burst health it does on impact but once again that health can be bursted down through the immortality.
You can clearly notice he is a kiriko main and he’s trying to make it look like she’s weak, but Sam speaks facts
