Thanks to everyone for helping us reach 10k subs and we hope you enjoy this long-awaited video!
TEAM FEAST!! although the setup is a beast, I find it more relaxing and less restrictive
A Feast for Odin can’t be beat. Best game ever, particularly for solo.
You love to hear it.
Great 10k special! Enjoyed hearing both of your thoughts and you're quickly becoming my favorite board game channel. Also Team Feast.
That's some high praise, thank you very much!
Great video. I would say .. if you are gonna spend a whole hour comparing these two games (they absolutely deserve it!) .. but at that point I do think it’s fair to include the expansions in the discussion of which is ultimately the better game. Sounds like y’all haven’t played with Norwegians much but for me this is what places Feast as the clear number one. Team FEAST! That said when I think about which game I could play forever it might be Agricola as I think at a certain point Feast becomes more clear on what strategies are most viable (not there yet but I suspect this could be more possible since the cards are so much less relevant to the broader strategy). Thanks for the vid!
We haven't played any expansions for either game actually! Aside from some additional card decks for Agricola. But Dylann recently got The Norwegians finally, so we'll try it out soon. Sounds like your assessment of your short-term vs long-term enjoyment of both games could mirror exactly how I feel, it just so happens I've played Agricola over 150 times now and I've played Feast around 20 or 25 times. I've lost the urge to play Feast a bit (hopefully The Norwegians changes that) but I still absolutely love Agricola with every play. Thanks for watching!
- Carlo
I play games mainly at 2P with my wife and we are definitely TEAM AGRICOLA. Love how tight the game is, where every single decision is not only impactful, but also cascades down to future actions. There is a certain amount of meanness to it that I really enjoy too. If we wanted to play a Uwe tile laying game, we'd go with Patchwork or New York Zoo instead!
Yup, that cascade effect is definitely more present in Agricola than A Feast for Odin. As for polyomino tile-laying, if you like Patchwork and New York Zoo I'd recommend Spring Meadow! Of all his lighter polyomino games, Patchwork and Spring Meadow are the two I enjoy most. - Carlo
TEAM FEAST! Always look forward to y'all's videos. Keep up the awesome work you two.
What an epic 10k special. You guys never disappoint. TEAM AGRICOLA ALL DAY
Such a fun video! I have yet to play either, but looking forward to trying them both. I feel like given descriptions on gameplay, I will probably be TEAM AGRICOLA!
TEAM FEAST
The thing is... I don't own any of this game, nor have I played them. However, the name I hear once and again since I stumble into the hobby three years ago is A Feast for Odin. So many people have talked about how interesting and fun it is to play it that I just keep thinking about giving it a go. I thing however in this debate the thing that made me take this side is the idea of showing it to people. Because I like to play a lot with different persons, often times my favorite part is watching the spark in their eyes the moment they get a game and are 200% into it. I believe Feast might be one of those games.
For sure, a lot of people fall in love with A Feast for Odin when they first play it, and I did too. I just don't think it gets better with each play in the same way Agricola does, but it's still a really good game.
I know I passed the give away day, but I just wanted to say Team Feast of Odin! Mind you, I haven’t played either game but FoO seems really cool, and it is on my next by list!
Great video. Made me laugh a lot in many occasions. Thanks for that! Pains me to choose, but I have to go with team Feast!
Team Feast! I’ve had it on my wishlist for a while. It looks amazing and I love the theme.
You two continue to make me smile. I have no personal experience with either game, but I happened to recently watch Amy and Maggie's video on AFFO and it was very compelling! Some of your arguments here, including your own concessions Carlo, have tipped me to team Feast
Amy and Maggie are wonderful, and A Feast for Odin is a great game! I'd be curious to hear what you think once you've played them both if you get around to it. Let us know in the Discord if you do!
@@AllYouCanBoard I will. I'm Lyrai there, if you couldn't tell
TEAM FEAST....I've played Feast of Odin many times and absolutely love the game. Haven't played Argicola yet. Would love to add both games to our family's collection of board games. Keep up the great content and congratulations on 10k!!!
Great job pulling in videos from other you-tubers!
Team FEAST!! I love the Viking theme, and even though I've never played it I have been wanting to for years. I've watched and read many reviews and I know this game is for me. Hopefully I will take the plunge and buy it this year
Team Feast! Love the theme and gameplay! definitely on my wish list :) Congrats on 10k!
Definitely TEAM FEAST. So many options, so much fun.
Thanks for the contest gents - both games are in my collection and both deserve to be there!
TEAM FEAST! I haven’t played either yet and I think I’d love both, but I think I’d pick Feast for Odin to try/buy first. Love the video! Thanks!
TEAM FEAST the theme and mechanics are both interesting, and the puzzle of how to arrange the polyominoes is fun every round.
Great video guys, haven't played neither yet but from what I've seen I believe I'm team Feast!
TEAM FEAST all about that tile placement, seems like a best-of of Uwe's mechanics in a box
You guys are one of my go to for game info. Congrats on the 10K. Big milestone.
#team Feast
Thank you so much for the kind words!
My wife and I both really enjoy playing Agricola. Neither of us have ever played A Feast for Odin but I am interested in playing it. I like the tension and suspense in Agricola.
Gotta go with Agricola. The tightness of the game coupled with the game changing cards is unmatched. Although there is certainly room for both on my shelf. Uwe is the man.
The tightness of Agricola is what makes it unpopular with my some of my more casual peeps (including my girlfriend) so Feast for Odin sees table time, while Agricola just kinda collects dust because people are afraid of having a bad time.
Agricola, despite the inviting theme is very deceiving. People often think "oh I can manage my own farm and grow animals and stuff!" -> No, as a beginner you're constantly on the verge of starving and by the end of the game MAYBE you'll have something that resembles a farm but just when you start feeling good about yourself, the game ends.
So to me Agricola is much more of a "Gamer's Game" (especially with the card drafting, which is really the way to play but everyone NEEDS to know how to play the game well) while Feast of Odin, despite the complexity, you can absolutely this game inflict even on new players. And even if comparatively they might be doing horribly, that will mostly be reflected by a lower score at the end but even the last player will have filled up most of their homeboard and an island and generally have accomplished some stuff and feel okay about themselves. Meanwhile in Agricola, a first time player who did badly might be lucky to not be in the negative scores.
Absolutely TEAM FEAST!! One of the best games! Great video comparing the two! Cheers!
Congrats on 10k!! Unfortunately, I've only played Agricola so I can't vote fairly, but I will say I enjoyed the game. Feast for Odin is on my wishlist, though! Great video guys, loved the thematic intro and Carlo not being sure if he was gonna go back in time or jump 8 months into the future 😅🤣
Haha yeah, I'm not sure what happened in my brain there with the dates, definitely short circuited!
Dude I just played Feast a few days ago and it became my favorite game ever. It was my first heavy game or score above 3 in complexity on BGG. It was my first big Uwe game. I loved the possibilities and choices and im itching to go back and refine my strategy and explore. People don’t like dice but I even found the hunting thrilling lol
Woooo! You love to hear it.
You need to play more "heavy" games.
Woow!!! You both pulled out the friends for support hahahha. Hysterical! Great video guys
Haha, we had no choice! And thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Ola! Great content, please keep it up. I haven't played any yet but my instinct would take me to be on TEAM FEAST, because of the open possibilities and different strategies.
Team Feast! It's a joy everytime, and seeing it setup always makes me excited to play again; Although I think I agree with Carlo's point at the end, with enough plays and more familiarity with Agricola I could see myself changing teams. Great video, fun to see two of Uwe's best games compared like this!
I think you're the first person in the comments on Team Feast who said that (about maybe changing teams one day), so thanks for that! Both games are amazing though. - Carlo
TEAM FEAST -- Feast feels so much more fluid
Team Agricola! I love how every action you take in the game is basically crucial to the final result. The theme is perfectly combined with the tension of making your farmers eat during the ending of the plague. The game is incredibly variable due to the cards you will draft at the start of the game, therefore the long-term strategy will always be different in every game. I never played AFfO because I was always afraid of the big box...but I would love to try it! Love from Rome! 🇮🇹
If you've played Agricola, you have nothing to be scared of in A Feast for Odin. It's a more complicated game, but it's not more complex, if you know what I mean. There are more things to learn, but it's easier to play and make decisions throughout the game. But I totally agree with your comments on Agricola, especially the importance of each action and also the cards. - Carlo
Team Agricola! But the correct answer is actually Fields of Arle
Interesting pick! We really need to play that one, I've been trying to buy it for a while. - Carlo
TEAM FEAST! The choices are so plentiful and crunchy! And the polyomino part of it satisfies such an itch!
My brother introduced me to hobby board games and constantly wanted to play Agricola, I never won!
Thanks for all your great content and congrats on 10k!
Team Feast! Congratulations on your 10k subscribers and love your intro!
Haven't played either yet but just got a copy of Agricola! Excited to try it out :)
Awesome, I hope you like it as much as I do! - Carlo
I haven’t played either yet but Dylann has convinced me, Team Feast!!!
TEAM FEAST
So glad you all did this video. Just discovered your channel and have been binge watching your videos and I am loving you content! I am newer to the hobby and am wanting to get my 1st uwe rosenburg big box game. I have some of his smaller games like cottage garden and really enjoy it. But wanting something heavier.
A feast is much more appealing to me than agricola and seems more unique.
I would love for you guys to do a compare video of all of the uwe big box games to help someone new to the hobby understand the differences and which one might be best fit to add to their collection. Im overwhelmed by his games and dont know where to start and what the differences are. So it would be nice from “Uwe experts” like yall.
Thank you so much, Rebecca! We really appreciate the kind words and we're glad to hear you're enjoying the channel!
We haven't played some of the big Uwe games yet like Le Havre, Caverna, Fields of Arle, and Ora et Labora, but I think once we've played those we'll be ready to do a video covering all of his bigger games. I just got Le Havre recently so we're one step closer! Believe me, it's one of our board gaming goals, to try all the Uwe games asap, so we hope to accomplish that soon but we'll see. - Carlo
I haven’t played either game but to me Agricola seems more like something I would love to play!
Let's see, be a raiding, pillaging Viking, or a, struggle to feed your family farmer. TEAM FEAST, of course! Feast has so much to offer in a game; so many options. Agricola is a very fine game, but I prefer less cutthroat games. I'd never turn down an Uwe game though. He's a master of board game creation. Dylann, you hit the nail on the head. Feeding your Vikings is not as worrisome as feeding your family. The polyomino field below the Viking dining room allows you to plan ahead. It's actually one of the first things I do each round to assure it won't be a concern. Struggling to feed someone really stresses me out. There is additional material included in Feast, that details different aspects of Viking life which really enriches gameplay. Loved your debate. Very fun to watch!!!
Thanks Heidi! The theme of A Feast for Odin is definitely more intriguing, and you're right that feeding your family isn't as stressful in AFFO. There's just something about the way that Agricola all comes together, it just feels so satisfying and addictive. While I still love AFFO, I don't get that same pull to want to go back and play immediately. They're both still amazing games though. Thanks again for the kind words and all your support recently! - Carlo
Definitely TEAM FEAST!
Keep up the great content guys :)
I have not played either yet. Although I’m interested in playing both, I am most interested in playing and buying AFFO. Team Feast!Everything Dylan said really resonated with me. Congrats on 10k milestone!
Congrats on 10K! I’m totally Team Feast! Best of luck!
Haven’t played Feast for Odin yet so i guess team Agricola. Wanting to try it one day! Keep up the great work fellas!
Like your channel guys! TEAM FEAST here..
TEAM FEAST. Alway wanted to try this one out :)
Definitely Team Feast! Congrats on 10k!!
TEAM AGRICOLA! Thank you for doing this.
Silver AND beans!!! 😂 What a wonderful comparison & super fun video... thank you so much for having us take part. "you might not enjoy Agricola more after 10 or even 20 games" 😏 team feast forever !!!!!! 💕
Thank you so much for taking the time to put together such a great little video clip! Even though I'm a LITTLE sad you chose Team Feast, I can absolutely respect it, and I'll hold out hope that maybe one day Agricola will overtake A Feast For Odin for you once you get above 20 plays, hehe... and if not, your #1 game of all-time is still amazing. Hope to play either game with you both some day! - Carlo
Silver and beans, silver and beans, I'm a little lad who loves silver and beeeeeeeeans. 🎵
Team Feast !!! Snacks and Vikings how could you go wrong !
#teamfeast. Agricola is clearly legendary, and challenging, and intricately put together, but Feast is so much more engaging and thematic and fun. Congrats on the milestone guys.
I haven't played either yet but Feast looks more up my alley so gotta go TEAM FEAST.
Team Feast for Odin! Great show guys! Gratz on 10k subs
Team Feast For Odin no doubt. Fingers crossed I can get my own copy:)
The intro was awesome Dylann!
Team Feast! I haven’t played either game but A Feast For Odin is on my list of games to buy.
I just bought AFFO... in French... the new edition by Super Meeple (nothing changed)... that was 130 before tax...
TEAM AGRICOLA!... mainly because I haven't played Feast for Odin. Definitely want to try after hearing it talked up so much by you guys!
Really enjoy your videos. Recently got into boardgames and found some great games with your help. I’ve been wanting to looking into Feast, so #teamFeast here. This game caught my eye recently… Greetings from The Netherlands!
Thank you for the kind words! Always nice to hear that we've helped someone with game recommendations.
Team Feast! So much to do, so much to explore!
There is no "heavy competition" for spaces in Agricola because you can't go after only one resource (unless you plan on losing). For example, a player blocked your sheep? Go for the pigs, and wait until the next round when the other player goes for the pigs, and you take the sheep.
I'm sure you understood the rules correctly, but it doesn't sound like you understood the strategy of the game. It would never really make sense to take 1 single sheep or boar in the round immediately after someone else took a pile of them. If someone goes to one of those spaces, then next round there's only one of that resource there, and if you're taking just 1 sheep or 1 boar with an action, that alone will probably set you far behind. I've never seen anyone do that and win.
And your point about there being no heavy competition doesn't make any sense. It has nothing to do with going for one single resource, I think you misunderstood what I said in the video.
Everyone needs REED to build rooms and renovate their house. Building rooms allows you to get more family members. So if you're not going for reed and you let your opponent keep getting it, you're pretty much guaranteed to lose unless you have an Occupation or Minor Improvement that helps you get reed in some other way. Similarly, if you're not racing for the first Family Growth spot to get more workers, you're probably not going to be in a competitive enough spot to have a chance of winning.
- Carlo
@@AllYouCanBoard - Thank you for proving my point, that if you don't get the cards, you lose.
Another great video AYBC
Really want to play both after watching you guys talk so much about them across videos! I'm team Agricola since it seems more my speed however :D
Happy to hear you're on Team Agricola but definitely still check out A Feast for Odin if you can! Both games are amazing. - Carlo
Thanks for the great video as always! TEAM FEAST
Team Feast! Congratulations on 10k guys! 🌞🌈
Both great games. I prefer Feast but you can't go wrong with Agricola. So Team FEAST. Keep up the great content fellas.
Team Feast! Great video, guys, and congrats on 10k!! Well deserved 🙏🏼💯
Thanks Jonesy! We appreciate all the support, even if you've chosen Feast over Agricola, hehe. - Carlo
TEAM FEAST
But man, it's close for me. Great video, fellas.
Team Feast. Great video. Congrats on 10k.
Big fan of Agricola! Haven't played Feast but would really like to give it a go. Came here to hear more about Feast actually, so thanks for this! So, Team Agricola, I guess...?
Feast for Odin is my choice. Love the sandbox play and spatial puzzle.
I think this is one of my favorite videos you’ve done. Thank you for this!!!
Having not played either, and solely based on the video (and having played other Uwe games including Caverna, Hallertau, and Patchwork), I think Agricola will be the first of the two I will purchase (probably tomorrow).

Wow, thanks! We were definitely passionate about this topics, that's for sure. I know you've played Agricola since you left this comment (sorry we're so late going back through hundreds of these comments) and I'm happy to hear you're on the right team, even if A Feast for Odin is also an amazing game. - Carlo
TEAM AGRICOLA it was my first "modern boardgame" and I dont own Feast, and I am werry excited to try that out. I enjoy your channel and you guys aproch and attitude werry much, keep up the good work :-)
Thanks for the kind words, Peter!
Team Agricola! I haven’t played either yet but I recently got Agricola and looking forward to playing it!
As someone super new to the hobby(also someone who hasn’t played either) I think I have to say team feast.. it just looks more appealing. Really enjoy your positive videos, super refreshing!
Thanks for the kind words!
TEAM FEAST!! Congrats on 10k!
It may be by default, but Team Agricola here! Love that game, it was one of my first ever games that got me into the hobby and remains an absolute favourite. Feast has been on the wishlist for a while though, so hoping to get to try it soon!
A lot of people who play Agricola early in their gaming days seem to really enjoy it. I feel like once it sinks its hooks into you, it's tough for other games to live up to that level of depth. - Carlo
Hey guys. Congrats on 10K subs. This was a tough one for me and my wife. We love both games. Agricola is totally amazing, and it's far superior to it's little brother Caverns. However, Feast for Odin wins for both of us because it is the closest thing to a sandbox experience. We have played Feast several times, and we feel like the game has so much more to discover through repeated plays. That being said, have either of you played our favorite LaHavre? If you love Uwe as much as we do, it's a must play.
Thanks, Gary! We haven't played Le Havre yet but I just bought it recently and we hope to play it really soon. We'll definitely talk about it on the channel at some point in the future. - Carlo
Steep learning curve means you can learn much in a short period of time.
Own both, love both. Only one is my all-time favourite, and that's Agricola! The ideal amount of interaction, pressure and variety. Still thrilling, a hundred plays on. Don't worry Dylann - A Feast for Odin is my favourite solo design! But with other players involved, I'm #teamagricola all the way.
I actually think I'd like A Feast for Odin most as a solo game too, I've only played it 2-4 so far.
Oh, and #teamagricola for life!
- Carlo
I’m just learning Agricola now, so for the time being I guess I’m TEAM AGRICOLA but would love to try Feast.
Haven’t played either but keen too
TEAM AGRICOLA! I love the farming style which reminds me of the video game, Harvest Moon. I also enjoy being able to change up the resource choices for every play 🐮🚜
I'm team Feast, but that is primarily because Tommy V on Dice Tower turned me on to Caverna before I ever tried Agricola.
I love them both. Both my favorite board games, but A feast for Odin is THE KING!!!!
Split decision over here obviously but we appreciate the passion either way! We recently got to try the Norwegians expansion and we agreed it really improves on the base game. I mean, it's still no Agricola but it's one small step closer. 😁
- Carlo
Team Feast! It's time to give it a try
Excellent video, I was very pleased to see the comparison...as I have played neither. Even though Agricola my have a less appealing theme, I like the "take that" element in games in general...where you can do some strategic blocking, etc...I think that element is definitely a product of the games age. In our current world of participation trophies (where competitiveness and winning is "not fair for everyone")...I like that. I like to be rewarded for my creative thinking and planning in general. Also, just wanted to know what is hard to understand about a silver buying you a meal?...most people do this every week! The only thing missing, is touching on how both games solo (if at all).
Great video - I confess to being Team Agricola. Had this for a long time - first learned how to play worker placement on my own (self taught) with Agricola Family Edition so the whole series has a special place in my collection. I have also purchased A Feast For Odin, and am starting to get into this, but I still find it hard marrying up why a polyomino tile of a rock on an island means you don't lose points from a thematic point of view! The amazing wealth of extra cards that have come out for Agricola Revised Edition over the years has also helped replayability - maybe more will come out for AFFO in time as well (although there are a large number in the base game! Shame the money in AFFO is quite small and hard to pick up at times in order to place on your island/dining table ;-)
Good point about the money being so small! I've been playing on BGA recently so that hasn't been an issue. And glad to hear you agree about the theme. :) Still an amazing game though, of course. - Carlo
I'm not on Team Agricola, but my pimped-up Agricola looks fantastic on the table.
That's gotta count for something!
@@AllYouCanBoard - It actually does.
TEAM FEAST!
I've played both of these games on BGA. I like how Agricola in some ways is very simple, and I like building the farm a lot, but when comparing cards to polyominos, I like the polyominos (and AFfO's massive amount of actions!) more. I want to try Uwe Rosenberg's other worker placement "Harvest" games too to compare them! Plus, Nusfjord and Hallertau look pretty...
I totally understand, DeyDey! Of the other two Uwe games you mentioned, I would recommend Nusfjord first but Hallertau is really good too. - Carlo
I am TEAM FEAST. I bought Agricola thirteen years ago after it was recommended as an excellent entry into the board gaming world. I was thrown into the deep end of the pool with that recommendation and I almost drowned. I still own that perfect copy of Agricola and it still sits on my shelf serving as a memory/trophy of my entry into the board gaming hobby. I tried to play it on three separate occasions over a few years and I still didn't find it a satisfying experience whatsoever. Misery Farm is a good name for it. Conversely, A Feast for Odin SINGS to me and my gaming group absolutely. I want to thank All You Can Board for your efforts and content. I value your opinions and suggestions. Also, Uwe Rosenberg is brilliant and I admire his skills at game design. He's given my friends and I countless hours of enjoyment and challenges. I stand firmly for TEAM FEAST.
Thank you for the kind words! Sorry to hear you've had disappointing plays of Agricola. I know you're not the first person to say something like this about the game though, it's a really tight game that rewards repeated plays with other experienced, competitive players. Outside of that environment, it can be a tough sell. - Carlo
Team Agricola. Maybe it'll be Feast for Odin one day, but I'm not quite there yet.
Team Feast for sure and it's not close.
Teaamm c'est for Odin !!!! Good vidéo guyss 😁
The theme for a Feast for Odin is more appealing to me.
Team Agricola. Love the sheer amount of variety from the cards. "fast" setup when compared to Feast for odin. Prefer feast for odin at 2, Will play agricola at much wider player count.
