    This is a GREAT cycling video and shows this route well...
    I completed almost all this route using the GPX file. I only changed the end part as I live in Sutton in Ashfield and decided to go through Hallow Wood, Thieves wood and around Kings Mill kings Reservoir towards the end...
    Yes it has its inclines and yes the surface in some areas is more bumpy that other but I really enjoyed it...
    Without this video I wouldn't have known these routes existed... I'm not originally from the East Midlands. Thanks you

      Nick Beswick the route is extremely enjoyable. I have ridden it a number of times. Highly recommended. It's a great ride into Nottingham as well from here.

    I really enjoy this route myself. I have got as far as hucknall on route 6 t notts. My plan soon is to go route 6 worksop then on to the canal in worksop and through retford and loop back to ollerton and bilsthorpe cycle route. Should be fun.

    Another great upload, thank you!
    How do you folks manage the logistics of travelling to the starting point and getting home from the end of the ride, do you do a loop and ride back or do you have a support car/van.....just asking lol

      Hi Steve thanks for the great feedback, we usually do circular routes or do out and backs for the smaller route.
      If it is a longer cross country route, for example, The Sandstone Way or The Way of the Roses - Someone drops us at the start and we B&B it as we go and get picked up at the end.
      When John and myself did the Devon Coast to Coast last November we stayed in Ilfracombe and set off on the first day from the harbour, Sarah picked us up at the halfway point and took us back to the cottage. The next day she dropped us off where we finished more or less to complete the ride.
      So in answer to your question, it's a mixed bag lol :)

    Hoping to ride this route in a few weeks, roughly how many miles would you say it is to Sherwood Pines from the Golf Club please?

      Hey Steve, I just quickly checked on Bikehike.co.uk and its 7.5 miles to where you join the blue route at Sherwood Pines, the visitor center is probably 2 miles from there.

    Where abouts in worksop does this route start. I was on my way to sherwood pines other day and I noticed the blue sign shortly before I got there saying nation cycle route. I'm new to biking so trying to find some good routes.

      @CycleroutesInfo  Před 6 lety

      There are a few of national cycle routes that pass through that area, route 6 is 390 from start to finish. We started near the golf course. The route comes from Shireoaks, and hits Worksop then continues South. More info can be found here. www.sustrans.org.uk/ncn/map/route/route-6. Hope this helps Steve
