  • DRS Stalwarts 20308 & 20305 take us for a run up the infamous Lickey Incline from a standing start at Bromsgrove. We have a fair number of carriages in tow but we had to leave 37610 behind and have it follow us up ;)
    It's almost ten whole minutes of solid "Chibble" thrash, if you want to check out the whole day's footage of the tour as well as our pass of the Nemesis Rail facility at Burton on Trent, the Bombadier Central Rivers Depot and our visit to Peak Rail at Matlock then check out the full "Dimple, Darley and Dale" video here;
    • Dimple Darley and Dale...
    This took some work to shoot as I had to share my window with Kev and required a lot of twisting, turning and leaning to keep the shot on target :)
    Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more rail videos coming soon, also feel free to check out my "6219Extra" channel which is home to my "cutting room floor", "Four Foot" and "Extra Extra" videos. If you like aircraft then check out my Aviation Channel or failing that just drop by my website at www.phil6219.net

    Bet that cleaned all 8 cyliders out on each 20!! I remember when I was about 12, my Dad and I visited friends in Bromsgrove and Bob took us to the footpath at the summit by the cottages where the railings are and I had one of the thrills of my life watching the trains come up the bank some 53 years ago!!!!

      They had a good thrashing before this but I'm sure this certainly blew away any cobwebs :) I've never been "on the ground" there but have many fond memories of window-hanging behind 47s thrashing up as I made a 3/4 weekly trip back home from Bristol :)

    Im reminded of my early days on the railway when I served as a secondman at Frodingham TMD, Scunthorpe. my 4th week of duty was working on the Gunhouse Banker - a single class 20.

      Thanks :) Yes, that would be where the banking locomotives would move into after dropping off the back of whatever they were shoving then afterward they could head back down ready for the next one. The 20s had a good workout that day :)

      that is parents for you, plan 1, kids and parents on this side of the railway, one kid gets excited, runs forward as a train is coming down the likely, kid nowhere to be seen after train went by, plan 2, kids and parents on other side of the railway, kid runs forward, runs into the fence as train is coming down the likely, kid still there after train went by.

      police were called to the the area after complaints from driver on the likely about people on this side of the railway, officer had been speaking to some of the parents with kids, one dad said, i was on this side of the railway, myself and my 2 kids are at a safe distance from the track, kid says to officer, my dad said it was ok to be on this side of the railway, dad was arrested and fined.

      It's about time a few £1000 fines were handed out, there are enough signs around that say not to trespass!! And the fences are there for a reason, bet they wouldn't trespass a field that said it had a bull in it!!!.
