As a fourth year dental student, I will say root canals can be relatively straight forward, but also have a unbelievably high difficulty ceiling (as almost all things in our field) 💀 good luck though bro! Soak up as much info as you can during this time!
It’s crazy I’ve been watching you since my junior year of high school and I am now a sophomore in pre dental. I love seeing how far you have come.
Man I love seeing how far YOU'VE come!! Keep up the great work and don't ever give up on your dreams! I promise the hard work is worth it!
It is so nice to see a young person like yourself so passionate and excited about your dental school journey. I was a dental assistant prior to going on to hygiene school. Looking at all those instruments, wow, that is a lot that you have stuffed in your locker. I always wanted to go to dental school but never made it there so watching your videos is like my way of seeing what it might have been like. I will continue to watch your content because it is nice to remember how exciting it was for me when I first started out as a hygienist.
Thanks for posting!
Thanks so much for the comment!!
Been watching your videos since the beggining of the channel and now I am already a 4th year dental student 😊
Man I really enjoy the day in the life videos!!! Great content!!!
I enjoy making them and I'll be doing more of them in the future so stay tuned! Thanks for the comment and support!
Finally! I love this type of video🥰🥰🥰
Will be doing more of them in the future!
I love the videos! Greetings from Germany.
im gona start my second semester on Monday .. its really crazy how time flies by
I started watching u in my senior year of high school .. and now I'm half way done through my first year of dental school
That is WILD man!! It is so cool to step back and realize how many people have been watching me for years now. Ya'll are growing while I am growing at that is sweet to me. It is the beauty of a slow growing CZcams channel like mine!
Love the day in the life content!! It’s fun to see Daisy in there too!
Daisy is the best character in my videos at this point! Thanks for the comment and continued support, Mallory!
I really enjoy watching these even though I’m a dental hygiene student haha it just shows our future dentists are truly going to be amazing in the field 😊
Thank you so much for watching and commenting, Jess! I can't wait to work with more hygienists in the future! Always remember that your work is extremely valuable and dentists wouldnt be able to do what they do without a good hygienist to help shoulder the load of a dental practice!
nice vid Stephen!
Thanks my guy! Hope school is going well!
Nice one Stephen , I really enjoyed it.
Thank you so much for the support my friend!
Production quality keeps going up! These are great
Thank you so much for the supportive comment! I really appreciate it!
Thanks for all your effort to produce these videos! I'm at the begining of vocational training for dental technician, but already know that I want to continue with dentistry study later on. Your videos give me a nice insight, of what might expect me in the future. Seeing that you are also busy, casting modles and waxing up crowns, like me, but in a different context, different socity, 4000 miles away, is quite a refreshing and intercultural experince for me. Highly appreciating your work! Keep it on ;) Best regards from germany
This is so awesome!! Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment and for your support of me and the channel! It honestly means the world! If I’m ever in Germany we’ll have to have a meet up and get a stein!
I love these Day in the life videos! I truly believe that these "Day in the life" videos alone are very popular!
I enjoy making them and will continue to do so! They are basically a staple of the channel at this point!
good stuff man, I'm in DA school on week 3. so far I have been liking it.
This is awesome to hear! Thanks for the comment and support!
Clinic looks fun my friend! I just started my Introduction to Clinic Course (and my Endo lab) at my dental school and ngl it’s a bit overwhelming, especially AXiUM which I noticed in this vid. Keep it up
OMG Axium is the worst!! I swear half the time it either doesn't work or is painfully slow. Thanks for the comment and good luck in all of your coursework in dental school moving forward!
I’m a PreDent student at UGA and I take my DAT next summer! Watching your videos has me hyped for the future
Zaire thank you for the comment my man! I appreciate the support, and I know what is like to be in your shoes! It can be scary but you've got this! Good luck and Go Vols ;)
Fantastic vlog, thanks for taking us along! I'm quite curious, how many clinical sessions do you usually have in a day and how much time you get for admin and sterilization, seems like there's a lot to run through between your patients. Again, great vid, best of luck with the studying :)
Check out this video to see what my week looks like! czcams.com/video/Ggj20Xeq074/video.html
It is definitely hard to do everything in one day. I swear most of the day my blood pressure is soaring because of how many things are on my mind to see just two patients. There is just SO much to do outside of treating the patient in the chair. It's wild honestly. Thanks for the comment, Johan!
Just got into UT dental for next year and you were my tour guide. Any tips on where to live in memphis?
Preston so happy to hear that man! I knew you would! There are some great places to live in Memphis and the most common is Mud Island/Harbor Town! I would start there and look into apartments or possible a house with classmates!
I did a revision today and it did go as planned, the old bc sealer in the root canal was too hard to remove and it almost ended in a via falsa, we decided to call it because the risk of perforation was too high.
That is dentistry my friend! It can be such a challenge and it is relentless! Keep up your hard work!
As a D1 in our curriculum we assist D3s. They do practically the same cool to see what other schools do. Keep the vids coming :)
Thanks for the comment and support, Jonah! So excited for you on your dental journey! Enjoy those assisting experiences and keep your eyes and ears open. They are valuable 🦷
Are those ergonomic loupes? I bought them recently and it's a bit hard to get used to. Does it work for every arch ???
Yes they are LumaDent Ergoprism loupes! They take some getting used to be they are great once you are in the groove with them!
Awesome video, so you only do around two appointments per day?
Two appointments per day because of how long everything takes! We have to do a lot of checking with professors and having codes swiped, etc. There is so much added on to every appointment that takes time and isnt done out in private practice, but that is dental school!
@@stephenraydentist Thank you for answering.
On a typical day how much studying is there compared to your first two years
Not nearly as much! But we do have patches where we have to study a ton and that makes everything virtually impossible because you still have patients and lab work and plenty of other responsibilities so when you add studying to that list it gets crazy quickly
Is moving from UK to USA for dental school a possible and good thing?
It is certainly possible if you research it and do it the right way! I will say that tuition for dental school in the United States is exorbitant, so make sure that you will be able to pay for everything if you move here!
@@stephenraydentist yeah that’s right I just wanted to make sure that it’s possible because I heard from some Random people that it is a really hard thing to do
Anyway thank you for your CZcams channel I could say it’s the best and the only reason that I have downloaded the CZcams app on my phone
Dentistry was one of my dreams since I was is primary school and know I am in fourth year of high school ,can’t wait to get into dental school
how many years as a dental student at your university
4 years!
What dental college are you attending?
UTHSC in Memphis, Tennessee!
How hard could they be. When 9 out of 10 fail
$2400 each for a simple root canal. Does GREED explain it? It's obscene. It's blackmail.
Ok Stephen 🍑👀
