Took up an impromptu job offer and didn’t know I’d be mandated to serve beer. Since I’m underage myself I’ve not been very picky with my own beer however it’s incredibly embarrassing serving a very foamy drink to a customer so luckily this will help me for my next shift!
I agree with this, too. Stainless Steel faucets for the win. So many faucets are plated brass and the lever is the same material. They're less expensive, but not very durable. It's one of the biggest complaints I hear from bartenders, but some people would rather buy 100 faucets that are about 10 or 20 bucks cheaper, rather investing in a good one that will last forever.

Just started working at a hotel and I had to pour a glass of beer for a costumer. They didnt want to waste beer on me having a try first or even show me how it was done so it was my first attempt and there was so much foam and the beer just kept running after I shut it off so it ran out of the glass. So embarrassing but the costumer was very understanding. Though I would have giving it to him for free if I was the boss
Keep it at 45 degrees as long as you can if it’s too lively (fizzy), make sure the tap is pulled all the way down, and if it comes out too foamy, give it a second to settle and then top it up by repeating till the head is the right size, practice makes perfect mate dont fret
I was expecting less head on your pour. I would keep the tilt on the glass until its about to spill out and then I would tilt it up to give it less on the head. I'd say you got 14oz on that pour if thats a 16oz glass.

This is why I don't order beer when I'm out. Bartenders either don't know how to pour beer, or think I'm going to complain about foam in the beer like most people. 10/10 times I get bloated when ordering beer. No thanks.
So don't pour into a frosted mug because there's a 4° difference and it'll cause an explosion that will take longer to complete correctly?... And where you grab the tap makes a difference? I do appreciate the information but it just seems way too complicated for such a simple task
@@russellpeffer7736 Not arbitrary at all, if it's the first beer they won't be drunk, I prefer to give proper service even to drunk people because most of them notice when you treat em different, if they are customers then I'll give the best of me at all times. Im going to go serve beer in a thew hours, any tips on how to pour your way? Should i always pour in a 45 degree angle after each break? (If i do it 3 times) should i always bring the glass vertically at 2/3 ?
Firstly, work on ur grammar, u can barely take any sense out of what ur saying, with the lack of commas or fullstops - which is quite a funny read when ur trying to be such a smart arse😂. Secondly, the one overall point you can make sense of that youve made, is completely wrong🤦♂️ - who on earth told u pouring beer in stages makes for a better pint (u even think it tastes better aswell as looks better😂). Unless of course we’re talking about beer that needs to set, that is an exception, but in terms if pouring lagers, which this is, its an absolute hideous statement to say they should be poured in stages. And the points youve made, as to why couldnt be more ironic, stuff like “pouring it in stages means it wont go flat as quick” (im paraphrasing of course cos u cant construct a sentence). It just isnt true, if anything ur letting the beer go flat leaving it on the side to come back to - like with anything fizzy, gas is settling down overtime, the bubbles condensing, and what youd be doing is letting it go flat before the pint is even complete. The only reason youd possibly pour in stages is to let the beer set (needed for ales *not* lagers ……and even some of them its not always necessary doing it in stages - in terms of cask ales/hand pulled beer, u can pour it slow enough to not need to let it set - that being, as said, the only actual reason youd do a beer in stages.
I look at this and assume that Americans can’t pull pints... 1st of all the glass should be cool and dry, wetting the glass before is a sure way to get a shitty pint. And secondly this taps are shit.
This is actually a small amount of foam for European standards. If you would serve this beer in the Czech Republic or in Germany, people would complain that there isn’t enough foam. You want the foam. It shows that the beer is fresh and properly drafted and it won’t bloat your stomach. If you drink beer without foam, you’re missing out on the flavour and aroma.
That’s how the co2 gets released...otherwise you get stomach bloat and stomach ache especially when you order food...that’s how a real beer gets poured..u must be drinking where kids pour beer upto the rim..crappy pour

I mean, not like you guys have good beer to begin with. Your beers are inherently dogshit
If the faucets break just by putting your hand on the top of the handle, you need a better faucet.
