Never rinse a glass right before pouring a stout! Clean, rinse and let it dry completely as even a small amount of water residue will create bubbles in the head and it will be foamy instead of creamy.

Great start to a pint pouring tutorial when you're not even using the right type of glass. Also just to make it even better she overflows the glass at the end. Absolutely dreadful pint.

This is the worst Guinness pour I have ever seen 1.5/10 and I’m being generous
1)You shouldn’t rinse the glass first it should be bone dry
2) you NEED a Guinness glass its designed with a perfectly flat bottom to ensure all nitrogen gas escapes and its designed so you stop the pour at the widest part of the glass to give you a better head.
3) you poured it like trash, you are supposed to SLOWLY move the glass into the upright position
4) you didn’t let it settle at all before the final pour, could still see the gas bubbles escaping
5) you need to push back on the tap not pull it forward again for the second pour… this limits the amount of gas coming through so you don’t need to let it settle again after the second pour.
6) the spillage at the end…… pathetic

I work in an Irish pub. No rinsing the glass. This is what I've been told by guinness. If you wash you will not get the "stick" or a solid coating of white down the side of the glass. Also didn't use a branded glass and drank before settled. Proper first gulp.

Every Irish bar I have ever been in they have a special spoon that is hooked to the tap and they pour the Guinness over that spoon, as their filling your Guinness glass. When the bartender finishes pouring and it is finished settling then it is handed to you.🤤😋

I watch these videos because I've been alcohol free for a couple years lol. I actually have no issues drinking beer. Before I moved into my current veteran community (three drug tests a day) i could drink a 6 pack once a week and be fine. If i have even one shot or nip or swig from a bottle though, I'll wake up 3 weeks later with a rainbow cacophony of 40 various bottles strewn across my bedroom.
Pouring a perfect Guinness to me is one pour that fills it and if you did it right then when it settles there’s the perfect amount of foam on top right at the brim.
Don’t really like Guinness though but it’s a good base drink before the onslaught happens 😂

Cool video guys, Guinness is one of those drinks you’re never going to get perfect, there’s always going to be someone having one problem or another with it. I’ve certainly seen it done a lot worse than in this video, in my humble- no drinks pouring- experience there’s a few things could be improved upon with this one but I wouldn’t complain if I was served that pint. How to actually pour a proper pint from someone who actually runs a bar who knows how to pour a Guinness
Step 1. Have a **clean** and **dry** branded glass. It **must not** be wet.
Step 2. Holding the glass at a 45* angle right below the nozzle of the tap. ( **ensure the glass and the nozzle do not contact each other** )
Step 2. Proceed to pull the tap handle towards you and allow the Guinness to pour up to about the harp logo I would say.
Step 3. ** PUT IT DOWN AND ALLOW IT TO SETTLE** - this is crucial for Guinness. Until it’s blackish, shine a light if you want it should be redish/blackish like a dark ruby shade.
Step 4. Once settled leave the glass under the nozzle on the spill tray and don’t touch it. Then proceed to simply **PUSH** the tap handle away from yourself. This allows more gas to come through. Do this until you reach **just** above the surface rim top of the glass. This should give the Guinness a nice amount of head as intended and a dome on the top.
Once all these steps are completed. Enjoy or serve to your customer!
(**disclaimer - you must ensure your Guinness taps and pipes are clean, regularly maintained either through yourself of the Guinness quality control team, else you will suffer problems like to much head etc when pouring or horrible tasting Guinness.**)
