    Cool, I'm looking at swapping out my stock ESC and Motor in my new to me X-Maxx someday maybe to a if they'll still make them by then a G1 Max 5 with 5687 1,100KV motor. I wonder if this mount will work with the GPM Mod 1.5 spur gear and a Mod 1.5 pinion gear.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před rokem +1

      It should. They are basically stock gear ratio when you buy the kit so it'll put the motor in the stock position which this mount should have no trouble with.

    I tried this before and you got back to me so I will try again. I got the bow House motor mount for the XRT. I have ordered the max 5G2 with 1100 KV 118. And I got the GPM 35 1.5 mod I am wondering what pinion would work with this mount and GPM gear

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I really like saga mod 1.5 pinions. They come in all different tooth counts and you can get them on eBay. I'd recommend starting out with a 23 tooth pinion for that setup

      @@DoRC is there a way to calculate a mod 1.5 gear diameter to A mod 1 gear Diameter?

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@uuldriks1 if you look up gear dimension calculator on Google you can input the numbers and determine the approximate diameters of the gears in question. Just put 20° for the pressure angle.

    Just bot the ezrun max6 g2 combo, will this mount work with the max 5690SD G2 motor ?

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I think it will though you might need to use the risers or do a little bit of trimming to clear the little step in the chassis at the back.

    So no more problems with mod1 gears? I need to get my hands on that clamp for sure!!

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před 2 lety +2

      So far I have not had any issues and I'm even testing it with a damaged spur gear. If you already have the mount you can contact bowhouse and they should take care of you. If not keep in mind you need the whole amount because just getting the clamp isn't going to work with whatever other brand mount that you have. Thanks for watching and a sub is appreciated :-)

    Would it work with stock motor?

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Unfortunately no. The stock motor uses a proprietary mount system. There are a couple of companies like GPM that sell a replacement front end bell for the stock motor that would allow it to work with a standard mount like this but at that point you probably would be better off just upgrading the motor.

    Nice vid and I'm glad you posted one on this particular mount since this is the one I ordered earlier this morning :). One question, are you running stock weight shock oil (30w) and stock suspension set up? It appears that you don't have a bunch of chassis slap on your landing.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před 2 lety +2

      50 weight with VG racing springs all the way around. Very good compromise between jump landing and off-road handling

      @@DoRC Thank you sir. I'm installing the wide maxx kit soon and I know they offer a stiffer spring. I'll see how it performs with them but I did order a few bottles of 50w because I was going to swap that out regardless.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před 2 lety +1

      @Anthony Burgess I would just go ahead and get the vg springs. They're cheap and very good

      @@DoRC Are you running your stock receiver/transmitter? I was watching Exocaged RC and he was mentioning when you take out the stock motor and go with a HW or whatever that you have to do something with that temperature probe wire or the system won't run right? Do you have any input on that?

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před 2 lety +2

      @@ab_customz_llc I'm not running the stock receiver but it's pretty easy to deal with if you are. All you need to do is pull the temperature sensor out of the heat sink for the stock motor and just stick it somewhere else in the car out of the way. It just needs to be connected and reading a valid temperature otherwise the receiver will cut power to the motor. Alternatively if you have the Bluetooth module you can go in to the receiver model type and change it over to the Max from the xmax and it will eliminate the need for that temperature sensor.

    Hi there and thanks for the informative video
    The only bad thing about this motor mount is that you can't run with more than 48 teeth 1.5 mod gears as it says in the official site
    So this motor mount is useless if u tent to install 25/35 30/35 etc 1.5 mod gears
    Maybe it's my fault I didn't understand ?

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Před 2 lety +3
