  • Ever wanted to stop the body from being tethered to your chassis when you install lights on your body? Want to just get rid of all that extra wiring? Wanna just plug in your battery and go drift? Well here is your answer. Honestly its an easy modification once you get the right supplies.

    Nice video!
Do the magnets not conduct electricity? I thought we could just hook the light wires directly to the magnets without the tape. Guess I was wrong!

Yes it does. The problem I had with that is the soldering part. Soldering onto the magnet was very difficult and made the body easier to fall off. I tried just taping it too but again, the magnet became weaker. Bump a wall and my lights would flicker. So far this way has been the best solution.

No need to solder anything. Plastic washer between magnet and bodypost(if it's metal) and have the wire inbetween. And the wire can be taped to the magnet in the body 🙂

Send me that on Instagram or facebook. I cannot see how that works well over time because I tried to tape my wire to my magnet. It did not hold well. What tape?

@@idealautofactory Drill a hole into the side of the magnet. Insert wire and fill with solder.

I saw another video of yours testing gyro location and tried this myself before seeing this video. I ended up soldering to the side of the magnets and my gyro just had the signal wire going into my receiver. I put positive and negative into channel 3 plug and ran them to the front magnets.

Love this idea! It might be a good idea to have a positive on a front post and the negative on the rear post-you could also solder one of the other posts to the receiver signal wire to maintain the ability to trigger different lighting scenarios without needing to plug anything in.

Bro your drift builds are IMMACULATE and the wiring is clean i can see how much detail and effort you put into your builds and exact same for the bodies and THIS is awesome the lights turn on just by you magnetically attaching the bodies i STRIVE to be like you like as good with the hobby as you are im sure it all takes time as does everything else but i hope you stop sometimes to appreciate what you’re doin

I appreciate the kind words. It all takes time and you’re just as good or even better than me. You should have seen some of my first attempts at this stuff 😂. So glad I have progressed passed that now.

Quick tip: Solder the wires to the tape BEFORE you stick them to your body so you don't melt it.

Nice. Noticed it while watching your gyro placement video. Was wondering how you did that.
Does this work with just the connector in the receiver and then wire it to the magnets?
    Great idea.

I snipped my battery wires coming from the ESC just a tad and wired it from battery wires to the posts. ESC was rear mounted so less wiring that way.

My thoughts exactly! If you have any metal link between both magnets you risk short circuits.
