Great tutorial. I have everything setup for my SCX10 Wrangler but I don't think the brake lights are working properly. I have the controller set to brake light mode but the brake lights only come on when I reverse. Shouldn't they come on when I let off the accelerator or is this normal function of the brake lights? I have the brake LEDs plugged into the "B" channel.
does this work with the heyokrc light switch as I want to turn on lights remotely from the tx or does it need power all the time because it's hooked to everything? I'm new to rc and just trying to understand before I go buying stuff. Thank you and great video !
Needs a 3rd channel input to remotely operate that mode switch for 3ch Surface Radio's. Like the Spectrum DX3E, that 3rd ch. can be operated in 2 Position, 3 position, or Linear.
What company makes that FR-S body? Also, is it possible to have 4 headlights and 2 front turn signals, and 4 tail lights (combo of 2 brake/tail and 2 turn/tail) and 2 reverse lights?
I just install an old varad led headlight taillight kit. It has little wire with bar for brake lights to light up when you hit brakes on nitro car, it’s wired. So if I put it on servo how will I take body off. Any experience with these kits?

Yes, you can use these on a Nitro vehicle, no problem. You may want to get a slightly larger battery for your receiver since the lights will be powered off that battery. But honestly the lights don't draw that much power. Or you can power the lights off a 9V battery.

CrewRiderz you can I have connect two positive wires together and the two negative wires together slice into battery wires positive for positive and negative for negative for jada hyper 2015 Ford mustang Rc and your mustang as well ;=)
No Problem. Connections to the receiver is optional, if you want things light brake/tail light function or remote 3rd channel mode control, then you would need to connect the servo cables.
I’m having a problem with my controller. My mode 5 has flaring lights. Mode 6 and 7 seem to be the street car mode but the brake lights don’t work when on the brakes or in reverse. They are just on continuously. I have them in B port and I have tried them on mode 6 and 7 (as well as mode 5 per the video. I’m sure I have the UF-7 and not the UF-7C as I have went through every manual and video I can find and still no solution. PLEASE HELP!! Thanks in advance!!

Hi Dedrick, there could be a couple causes. Which LEDs are not bright (headlights, turn signals, or brake lights)? Also, what UF-7 ports are the lights plugged into?
Normally 1/8" for 3mm LEDs, and 1/4" with 5mm LEDs, that's if you are using the included plastic LED mounting clips. Then use Zap Goo or Shoe Goo to reinforce the mounting.
On the UF-7 controller, only mode 1 offers remote ON/OFF control. However, in mode 1 all lights are ON/OFF, so no brake lights or other functions. We are looking into future solutions for this though.
MyTrick RC hi i was wondering if you could do a video for the 1/18th rc cars because i keep seeing 1/10th rc car more than 1/18th rc because I got a latrax teton but they show there work that they did it but not how they did it tho
Hi, The installation on a 1/18th scale should be basically the same. Of course since it's a smaller car there will be more excess wire, but otherwise it's the same. Is that what your asking?
+Frederik Aponno It should work electrically, but the headlights don't look like they would point forward. The body id very contoured were the headlights are. Can you see a way to get them to point forward?

I use a BEC so would I take the power off that as I've disconnected the power from my ESC?

Does it matter if you don't connect the esc? I just hooked up the receiver and mine works fine with the mode switch.

Yes, if you power off a 9V battery. That means no functioning brake lights, turn signals, etc.
