- Ever got the hump with having to unplug your LEDs every time you want to remove your body?
Here's the solution!
Simple guide on how I fit my "wireless" LED lights using magnetic body mounts on my RC drift cars. Obviously works for any type of car from drifters to touring cars to crawlers - but magnet mounts might not be best for bashers!
All you need is the LEDs you are using (these were £4 from eBay), the magnets you want to use to mount your body, a spare 'servo plug' with some wire attached and a soldering iron.
In total (excluding the time it took for the glue to dry on the body magnets) this is maybe a half-hour to an hour's job.
If this video seems popular (BIG if) then I will look into other how-tos that I haven't really seen about.

Absolutely genius brother. Can’t thank you enough for sharing this. I have all the knowledge to have done something like this but never invested enough effort to realize this would work. I need to stop being so lazy. Heading to my desk to slap some flux around right now. Btw I couldn’t agree more about flux. Absolutely changed the entire game for me with soldering. Don’t solder unless I have it now

For your existing body's you could try soldering to some copper tape and then stick that to the magnets, I use copper tape to shield guitar bodies and it takes way less heat to solder to,

You could also use copper tape to avoid the soldering

I try it bt one of the led start to blink!! Why??
I have no idea - but a bit of Google-Fu suggests a poor connection somewhere along the line. Without getting hold of the vehicle and a multi-meter I can't really help much, but I would suggest going throught the circuit with a multi-meter to see where the voltage drops and go from there. Hope this helps at least a little.

Thanks -) The magnets I get off Amazon, almost any will work but I prefer the ones with holes in, such as these:

And be careful with the sizes, it's very easy to get it wrong and end up with loads of the wrong size... ask me how I know, lol...
