You can also go up the trail at the bald river Falls. Walk up and stick your feet in the water and skip rocks and look for arrow heads. Very beautiful. And Etowah has a drive in theatre. It's fun!i actually have a family member from the civil war in the tellico museum
I’ve actually fished above bald river falls. We hiked back about a mile and a half. It was very cool!

Tellico is my second home. I've got so much family there it isn't funny lol fr. I miss it cuz I partailly grew up there too. I miss the cherohala Skyway, bald river Falls, tellico beach. Lightening bugs , I miss McMinn county too.

I'm not aware of anything closing for the winter. The fly shop is open fewer days but they're affected more by the season change than some of the other shops.
Everyone on my channel says...ohhh, we eaht to move to Gatlinburg!! There's a difference between living here in Gatlinburg and taking a trip here.. trust me.. ive lived here 30 yrs . originally from Newport RI...1 grocery store with 16mil guests 😂😂

Chevy, as someone that loves the Smokies (but not the crowds), would this be an alternative without all the tourism? I plan on retiring to East TN in a few years. I have friends telling me to visit Tellico Plains, i have yet to do it. Are there any hospitals in the area, I am not getting any younger lol
Definitely less crowded but not much healthcare in that area. You’d be driving to the surrounding towns a lot of things. That’s the trade off of a small rural town.
Etowah has a hospital, my dad was born there. My cousins also. Etowah is just the next town over, bit far at all.

It’s nice in Fairfield glad. It’s more of a golf/retirement community if you’re into that.
Would I get strong internet access in Tellico Plains?
It would very much depend on where you are.
Tds offers fiber in town but most of the rural areas just have dsl cell phone coverage is very limited
Tellico has a new restaurant called the peach street grill its very good and the trout mountain coffee shop is for sale last I heard
