The Holy PATHIBHARA Devi - यात्रा पाथीभरा देवीकाे - Taplejung

We'd been to many "Sano" Pathibharas on our travels to eastNepal. It always got us curious and wondering about the main Pathibhara. And thank the gods, we got the opportunity to visit this holiest of the holy temple, a welcome end to our long and treacherous journey.
Big thanks to Suresh Uncle, Mewakhola Resort and Pathiphara Devi Temple Area Protection and Conservation Committee for the warm invitation, Rajendra, Suman and Guras Hotel and Tent House for hosting us.
The Total cost for the trip to Pathibhara comes to around 10 thousand Nepalese Rupees per person (by bus).

Flights can be taken from Kathmandu to Biratnagar/Bhadrapur, Bhadrapur to Suketar or directly to Suketar.

The Pathibhara devi temple is the perfect example of our harmonious nepalese culture. This temple has deities from all religions that fall under "Sanatan" or "Om sar pariwar" dharma. It is a religious site for hindus, kiratis, buddhists and bons. What a perfect example of what the nepalese society should look like. I hope our political leaders learn a lesson from this temple as to how we can build an all inclusive society and system of governance instead of the present day system where each nepalese group is categorized.

I have been to Pathibhara 3 times. It was extremely difficult but worth it. Really worth it. Best thing was you were never alone or left behind. There will always, LITERALLY ALWAYS be someone climbing up with you. One time, we started to climb the hill from 4 am in the dark to make the trek easier and I remember being left behind by my family but then I wasn't alone. There were other trekkers who joined me and everyone had torchlight in the dark. So the path wasn't particularly dark due to abundant lights here and there. And there were donations everywhere on the path but no one picked even a single coin.
