- With all of the baking I do, I needed to figure out an easy method to share all of my confections with family and friends that live far away. I can’t believe it took me so long to figure out that I could easily mail cake slices. I was inspired by some photos I had seen on social media of wedding cake tasting boxes being mailed out, and I figured I could easily do the same for my own cakes. In this tutorial I’ll give you tips to consider when mailing (the weather!), as well as what types of cake recipes will ship best.

In pandemic times, we are trying to figure out how to make a 50th bday special for a family member. Love your real kitchen and authentic presence (vs. all the over-staged IG folks)--including the fridge of kid-work and your turquoise KitchenAid and nails! Thank you so much for your tips--we plan to use them to send cake!
What a nice comment ❤️ I can’t keep up with the IG bakers, I just kind of went my own direction and am enjoying the process! It’s so funny you mention my kitchen - we are moving tomorrow and I was a little sad to say goodbye to my tiny Los Angeles kitchen (but getting a lot more space in the move) 😊 I’m glad the video was helpful, and I hope your family member has a great bday!
I was looking into sending cake and I love this technique, thank you for sharing!
I absolutely love how you sliced the cakes.... I used to think it was only square or rectangle cakes that are sliced horizontally... The video is quite refreshing
I’m glad it was helpful! I love cutting cakes this way because you can get really nice even pieces (and you can get a lot more slices this way!) ❤️
Great tips for mailing cake!! I'll take a slice of the chocolate/peanutbutter cake.😋
My twin niece and nephew gave an honest rating of A+ for the chocolate peanut butter, and A- for the vanilla lol! ❤️❤️❤️
@@ChristinaCakesIt 👏
Really enjoyed this video and the one on how to ship a cake with Buttercream. I think I'll do slices next. Thank you
Awesome! thanks for sharing.
This was interesting, thanks for sharing 👍
You’re welcome! An easy way to share cake long distance ❤️
the chocolate peanut butter one 😍
It was so favorite of the recipients too! ❤️❤️
Great video watching in NYC
Your videos are amazing! I'm a cake baker and I was wondering if you know anything about having to be licensed to ship your cake slices to another state?
Great video, thanks! For cake tastings, what size slice would you suggest preparing?
Loved the idea 🇧🇷🇧🇷😘
❤️❤️❤️
Do you have a video on how to make this shipping ganache frosting? :)
How long do the cake slices last from when they are baked?
Thx for sharing. So you overnighted it?
Hi! Just Usps flat rate boxes for shipping 😊
@@ChristinaCakesIt will do. Thx so much!
Did you freeze these first or is it just that the type of frosting you used is firm?
It’s filled with ganache and frosted with ganache which sets firm 😊
How do you prevent the cake from spoiling in shipment or the fillings??
Hi! Don't send in the heat (unless you follow my how to ship a cake video which shows how to pack for heat), ship flat rate or overnight, and I only use ganache or buttercream as fillings! I explain in detail in the video if you're interested
Hello I enjoyed watching your video. W
Will the cake be still fresh as it's not going to be in the fridge for 3 days??
Thanks so much! Question! How do you keep the cake frosting from messing up from the saran wrap when the recipients recieve it to open it up?
Hi! The outside is frosted in ganache so it hardens meow than buttercream. There’s going to be a little bit that gets on the Saran Wrap, but not bad! I wouldn’t recommend sending in the summer heat! ❤️❤️❤️
@@ChristinaCakesIt Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to me!!! Truly helpful! Thanks Ma'am!
Of course! You’re very welcome ❤️❤️
What would be a decorative alternative to Tupperware?
I wish I had a better answers, but I'm not sure there's a great one for mailing (to keep it fresh) BUT you could put slices into cellophane with ribbon, and then put into the tupperware so the cake slices still have great presentation!
Will tha cake get old if u send it
How much would you charge for doing this by slice Thank you in advance ❤
Hi! I think it would depend on your area, materials, and the ingredients and time for the type of cake you are making. I have seen wedding cake slices priced anywhere from $1 a slice to $5 if that’s helpful ❤️
@@ChristinaCakesIt Thank You ❤💫
That suck! I want to ship cream cheese icing. What exactly is the disaster?
It will spoil because it needs to be refrigerated. Im sorry! I wish it could ship too!
@@ChristinaCakesIt even with cold packs?
