Thank you, nonstop eurotrip! You know, actually, I always make a fuss, but in the end I'm a jerk because I love all trains. I like trains, therefore I like all trains. As soon as I'm on a train, I'm happy. I love trains. So, every video you give us, you, Dylan, Pete and others in "cab rides" is sure to please me. Of course, there are always preferences: for me, it's double-decker trains, TGVs of course, and trains that stop at each station. Treat us to wonderful videos every week. Thank you very much to you !!!

I love these trains so much! I’ve travelled on them a whole lot and they are just some of the best DMUs in my opinion. They don’t make much noise and are quite stable. I also really like the older Renfe 594 DMUs but honestly I’ve taken the 599 DMU of this video so many times every summer. Thanks for a quality video!

Our limited loading gauge dictates our own cramped interiors and heights preventing double-decker carriages.

Completely agree with your take on Alicante - it is very underrated. Hopefully one day the Tram will be extended from Luceros to Alacant Terminal. I was on a 599 from Principe Pio (Madrid) to Salamanca a week ago - that is a very scenic ride, at least as far as Avila. The only real gripe with those units is the luggage rack capacity at the end of the coach frequently does not meet demand. The overhead racks will take roll-ons no problem but bigger suitcases are clearly a problem unless you board early and at the originating station.

    Ah memories...
My first Renfe Spanish train journey was on the Euromed from Valencia del Nord to Alicante - the high speed line was under construction at the time - think that took about 1.5-2 hours non-stop. Valencia is a gorgeous station.
My first Spanish train journey was on the old Limon Express from Benidorm on that Alicante-Denia line... 🤣
Sure I travelled on one of those units from Malaga to Seville - much more picturesque than the high speed line via Cordoba. Thought that had wi-fi though I may be misremembering..

@@NonstopEurotrip S-599 are doing a great job in slow regional trips in Galicia, Valencia and some other regions nowadays. Fast regional trips in Galicia are being done with S-121 EMUs at about 200 km/h (although S-121 can achieve a top speed of 250 km/h), and in some other northern Spanish regions even faster, so travelling by train has become a cheaper, quicker and more environmental-friendly option than doing the equivalent trip by car. S-121 EMUs, which are normally used in regional high-speed trips (Avant services), are also very comfortable units, providing a generous space for luggage above the seats and in luggage shelves at the beginning of each coach. I hope that the S-121 train you took was properly washed, so you could take decent shots of the trip -- we are complaining about that... sometimes, S-121 units are showing a "brown nasty" appearance due to dust that is not wiped out

I live in Brazil and occasionally travel to Europe freestyle, that is, without a tour company. However, I believe that if you have a company that organizes train rides in these itineraries that you present in your videos, I would be interested in hiring your services. It could be in a different form from established operators. It could be as follows: Small groups of a maximum of 10 people where you can offer the predetermined passes, on the most interesting routes. In each location, you would only indicate hotels, hostels, or hostels to your customers, without however determining a specific one already included in the package. Each day, your client would be free to walk around the cities freely, without the shackles of a pre-determined itinerary. The only obligation would be to meet you at a certain location to embark on a new trip towards another city, and tickets would already be available, as well as having your explanations about the train, the route, the cities and things like that. It would be a nice way to travel. Organized but free.

Hi! I have just came across with your channel and it's very good. Congrats! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Suggestion: is it possible to state more clearly the origin and destination of each trip, especially on the title description. Such as, ie, "S-100 high speed trip from Alicante to Madrid. Great ride on these 30 year old beasts".
It is somehow difficult to follow otherwise.I was just watching a video from Alicante to Madrid and now I found out this from Valencia to Alicante, which I suspect is prior to the afore mentioned.
Other choice, for better viewership, is to sort them on a chronological order. Believe me it is hard to follow you on the longer playlists with more than 20+ videos.
Also, I found out best when you leave the original background sound. It's always pleasant to listen "Attenzione, allontanarsi dalla linia gialla" and similar.
Additionally, could it be feasible to add more touristic details (if possible). I know you have started to do that on some newer videos but it's always good to know what fancy thing there is to do at each destination (such as "off the main station there is a cute public beach with a nice bar nearby where to catch a drink")
Apart from that, I had my own Eurail trip more than 20 years ago with my backpack and it was one of the best times of my life.
Keep on with the great stuff! Best regards

MD? Yes from Jaén to Madrid and back. Excellent but, for a 4 hour journey, could have done with a buffet car. I like the fact that the seats recline within their own space so that, unlike on aircraft, one doesn't end up lying down in the person behind's lap/dinner.

I don't know exactly why Renfe is considering some trips that are longer than 300 km as regional services (hence these regional-service units are used), when they should be considered long distance trips. But this one you refer to isn't the only case in Spain, I know about several others. Maybe for this case, the amount of passengers is not enough "to be economically profitable" (according to Renfe's opinion). Consequently, this trip is subject to public subvention. As long trips can't be kept subject to subvention, they should be considered regional.

    • @CityWhisperer
      @CityWhisperer Před 3 lety

@@miguelfranco9686 As you mentioned, long distance services cannot, by law, be subsidised in Spain. So, in an attempt to keep them running, those that don't earn enough to cover their costs are considered as medium-distances which can receive public money.

They used to be very good while they were correctly maintained. About 15 years ago, they were giving a magnificent service in Galicia, in the Atlantic Axis. Nowadays, if they are not correctly kept, they are suffering from mechanical problems, as I know from the press. Besides, the bad state of the tracks in some parts of Andalusia and Extremadura helps these units to degrade quickly

Spanish trains are almost NEVER full, not even the AVE trains, and yet you need a reservation for every train. That's especially annoying when you have an interrail ticket and you can't make a reservation online for it.
