As a kid oldboy down the road from parents had one and only took it out maybe twice a week, no mrs strangely as they went everywhere together lol, and can't and won't ever forget that sound, absolutely nothing like it! Other thing that's always impressed me is we actually built a car here that in it's day was the most powerful sedan ever made and could crap all anything imported at maybe 20 times the price.
Legendary! Thanks for sharing. Hopefully a representative of the Evil Empire that is the NSW Highway Patrol doesn't check out this video clip, look at your number plate and then come for a visit with a ticket for "dangerous driving" and doing that burnout. They might even confiscate it under the "hooning" legislation - probably just so they can take it for a spin. LOL. Better you cover that plater up just in case. Cheers
@@chains7844 I am not knocking anything you did. Now-a-days the Police don't seem to view performance driving the same way as us enthusiasts. I would still blur out your number plate just to be sure. Nice car by the way. Cheers
Back in 1971 I owned a XWGTHO phase 2 in exactly the same colour. I still remember the reg number. KPT 971 ( Victorian reg ) had it for around 2 years. Sold it to a mate for around $4000. And yes I do regret it. I’ve always been a fanatic looking after my cars. So my car was in mint condition. Today I’m 69 years old and still love muscle cars. I currently own a 2021 Mustang GT. ( second one). Thanks for posting your XW GT. Brought back memories. 👍
Sounds great my 393 clevo made 535hp on Ned’s at Hercules engine Dyno going to get it chassis dynoed soon I’m curious to know what it makes at the wheels. 👍👍
It's actually a 351 Windsor. Stock bottom end, Cast-iron gt40 heads, yella Terra roller rockers, edelbrock manifold, 750 double pumper, a bit of a cam, electronic distributor triwy extractors. Thanks for watching 👀 🙂
@@AUmarcus xw's came out with Windsor's and Cleveland's . And it depends on what it was out from the factory eg; 302 Windsor, came out on 'Y" code, phase 1 xw gt were 351 Windsor's, phase 2 gt, 351 Cleveland
@@Starlight_GT yes I had a 400hp 351 top loader 9 inch XYGS in the 90s , hydrolic crane cam 2V ported heads etc. 400hp was plenty and not to bad on juice
HP is not the be all, and end all. Driving the car and making it real, makes more sense. That is one great car.
Man !!! I could listen to that all day long !! FORDS RULE !!!!!

There were no burnouts, No hooning mate. Everything that was filmed was done legally, all under the speed limit.
