@@nursingembassy8018 I was watching a video where a certain nurse was telling us about the hospital stopping nurses from doing extra shifts,is it true?
@@sibesosezongo4501 Yes this is possible because there is a limit on maximum number of nurses that a hospital can allow on a shift for example when patients are few on the unit, (low census) some nurses will be told to go stay home even if you are scheduled that day. Before you accept a job offer, ask about the hospital’s low census policy. Hospitals want to keep as few nurses on a shift as possible on a shift in order to minimize costs. So if there is a nurse who wants to take an extra shift and they already have enough nurses for each shift, that nurse will not be allowed. Most likely that hospital refusing nurses to take extra shifts already has enough nurses and they are just trying to cut down on costs by not allowing nurses to be too many on a single shift. Hope this explanation helps😃
Good content, could you please do a cost of living on nurses salary you can compare travel nurse and staff nurse if possible

welcome back, and congrats that you are in America. How many years have you spent there. Which state? How is life in America vs home in Uganda.
Hey Mariam, thanks for watching
One year in New York. Welcome to the empire state
Great how is newyork?
How is family life and raising kids in New York, most especially crime rate and gun life in general?
Its wesome
$3400 is more like 2 weeks USRN income.
How much might I make in Mississippi with a extra job? I want to work there.
I'm a family woman and how possible can I do two jobs because I need time for family too.i am with an agency too meaning that when I come to USA my salary is small .. what should I do to earn better and still get time for my family?
So having an extra job in addition to your normal hours compared to picking extra shifts at your work place, which one is better in terms of pay, and what are the pros and cons in terms of taxes comparing the two
Extra job is better especially when you are an agency nurse and new in America. It means you are getting a small hourly pay at your agency job so the second job is where the real money is
@@nursingembassy8018 thank you 🙏 but does it mean when you are an agency nurse and you pick extra shifts at your work place, the agency will still pay you their normal rate? Please help?
@@Yourfaveblogg yes you will be paid normal rate but if you exceed 40 hours, then same normal rate x2 for those hours above 40. Oh and by the way extra shifts are not guaranteed, their availability depends on the unit’s staffing needs.
@@nursingembassy8018 I see thanks. You have really been helpful 🙏

Do they consider speciality from kenya like ICU nurse?
Yes, specifically can affect salary. ICU nurses get a slightly better pay
what state you are in sir?
So can I work for more than 36 hours as a new nurse who came in through an agency?
Yah you can do overtime but it is advised you finish at least 3 months in the facility so you can finish your orientation
People should work smart not hard
Weldon Bosco
UEAB oyeeee🎉🎉🎉
Yes UEAB❤️
Do they consider years of experience back at home once you are done with the 3 year contract?
Some employers consider only the USA experience
can you help me with some information
I’m registered nurse from Tanzania,I didn’t wanna use agency I wanted to do Nclex but I’m stucked since I tried to pay for the exam but Pearson vue said the payment method is not available when I called they said I my country is restricted to pay so I should visit the nearest Pearson vue for payment
So I went to South Africa and they said they are not allowed to collect any payment.
Now I don’t really know what to do,I have no idea how I can pay for my exam
Hi Ellah, this must be so frustrating on your side. If you have a friend you trust in Kenya or relative in USA, send them the money so that they can pay for you.
Can I do nclex there
Hi Louise, yes, if you happen to come here on another type of visa, you can take the NCLEX here.
Hello sir, do u know how much Enrolled nurses earn in USA?
The term “Enrolled nurse” is not used in USA system but I suppose that should be equivalent to an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse). The US immigration system currently allows only registered nurses (diploma and above) for the Employment based visas (EB3) atleast as far as the nursing profession is concerned. LPNs earn about $30 per hour but can be less or more depending on so many factors.
@@nursingembassy8018 thank u sir
Diploma or degree
Diploma and degree are both RNs in USA. No much difference
