They've repeatedly said this is one of the harder choreos they have due to the emotions they have to convey, on top of the technical difficulty. Also fun fact, a lot of the choreo is based on puppeting (I think based on the idea of being sort of controlled by love or pain in a relationship, particularly in one that's ending, which is what this whole album is about)-you can see this in the drop around 2:39, as if someone literally cuts their strings. Again in the chorus at 3:55, and a similar combative effect in the sequence at 3:19. It's pretty masterful.

Jimin always stands out to me a lot on this choreo. He brings all the emotion this song needs every single time
Some reactors mistaken the last part that they're exhausted from dancing without realizing that it was part of the choreo. From the beginning to end, the whole choreo shows struggle of someone in "fake love" situation that it will lead u to "exhaustion" which was shown at the end.
When Ola says "look at them. they're exhausted!" While the members may be tired from the dancing, I think part of what is tiring is the emotion they have to show for this performance. That point when Ola said that, they were literally exhausted from not being true to who they are (fake love).

The bits when they're covering their faces with their hands - they're representing see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil - covering of eyes, ears, and mouths. That is also what that huge white wall statue in the music video was - a representation of the same - look at the placement of the hands. Fits the theme of being puppets, as seen by their almost boneless movements, and how they throw themselves into each position, limbs akimbo. Also fits the theme of the masks, the one in the shadows, controlling their movements, hiding their true faces.

Yes. I find they are always ALL very engaging until the very end. I think that this is because they all bring their own intense personal commitment. Currently I would say that they are all excellent dancers, some with more strengths than others, but none less that excellent. However at the time of Fake Love some of them certainly were less confident and described themselves as less competent - taking longer to learn routines etc and struggling with certain moves. But you seldom see sign of it in performance, and I think, yes, it's partly due to careful placement and choreo, but also due to the level of commitment and investment they each make in performance. For our last comeback, for example, for Black Swan, which was a completely different style of dance for all but Jimin, Jin, perhaps the least confident dancer, asked to start learning the choreo a few days before the others. I've watched Black Swan several times, almost frame by frame and failed to find any errors from any of the members. I recommend for your delight
One other point. I love watching dance, and so many KPop bands are excellent, but there are two things I would say, and I'd like if possible to here what your views are...
I really want to like the work of female KPop bands. I'm told they are very talented, and they are certainly great singers. However I find the dance work they do is largely a series of poses, and not at all what I would call dance. They are rigid, expressionless not only in their faces but in their posture, and seldom do more than step pose step pose. Some of their arm work is complex and well performed. Am I too harsh on these clearly talented women?
My second observation : I've tried to watch other KPop male idols dance work, but have largely been disappointed. Again, clearly very skilled and athletic performers, but lacking the level of clean and precision we see from BTS. When BTS jump in the air, nearly always they land with one sound and if you freeze while they are in the air, each foot is level. When they land they hardly ever adjust their footing. When they move their arms, the expression is continued down the limb to the fingers. I have only seen one other band come close to this and that is Stray Kids, who have several times impressed me.
I'd love to hear your observations on these two points - female idols' dance presentations, and the precision or otherwise in other make idols' work. Thank you.

I feel like this channel sleeps on jungkook …. Should check out jungkooks fancam of “begin” live but make sure you can seee the footwork , and “my time” live day 2 in the red suit … two very different stages but really different vibes… would be cool in one video with begin first which is a song about how bts are his brothers and his only hardship back then was seeing them in pain or having struggles… his only hardship was their hardships … but the footwork is awesome….. and then “my time” is about him finding his own time after all these years and the choreo he made with the song that’s a bit of his story is really cool to see him so many years later kinda adding to his story. My time live day 2 red suit make sure it has the dance break in the middle
