I have a supplier that only ships out boxes without shrink. Is it a red flag?
To me: it’s definitely a red flag - you just have no way of knowing whether or not the box has been tampered with. It is definitely risky and something I would 100% avoid.
@@tcgbuyersclub thanks, it is a pulltab version though, but I'm more worried about what the supplier told me: "sealed carton would have a higher chance of zard/iono vs separate boxes"
@sonofbuddhaTR a couple things:
- Guaranteeing a higher hit rate of certain cards makes no sense - that’s sus
- The pull tab boxes still have a problem where people can open them via the side without affecting the pull tab, and then re-glue the side panel closed afterwards.
I would not trust this seller personally. In my experience if it’s too good to be true it probably is.

Right?? I wish the set focused more on shiny SAR and AR cards but I still think the limited presence they have makes this a huge improvement over past Shiny Vault sets.

Fates collection is great! Just hard to complete a full set
Yeah the different shiny vault sets are HUGE 😅 I managed to master set Shining Fates I don’t think I’ll do the same for Paldean Fates even though I like it 🥺
Hidden Fates is the only Fates worth anything

In the U.S. and just now getting into sealed Japanese Pokemon given the depressed prices. I am worried about the re-seal scams so I'm going to try and stick with sealed cases where I can. But, may also do individual boxes once I buy from a few different sellers just to make sure I can trust where they source their boxes from in Japan. Are the re-seal issues more specific to 151 and VStar Universe among the more recent sets? I assume I'll probably be safe on individual boxes of Shiny Treasure and these more recent sets just given prices so low.
I know there have been concerns with resealed boxes for those products. I have typically bought from established 3rd party sellers and therefore usually pay a small premium but after opening the boxes I’ve received I’ve never had any issues.
If it seems too good to be true I’d be cautious but otherwise I personally have not had any issues yet 🤞
Hard pass, pre-orders have been cancelled. Sticking with 151 for now, Paradox didn't do it for me either.
That was my original thought too 🥰 But, I’ll admit I’ve changed my mind a bit and am excited about this set.
Over the long term though, I think I’m picking Japanese 151 too 💪

Some exciting and collectible cards in this set as most but as far as investment, these will be a 5 year hold
I agree! I think it’s a great set but will take a while to mature because of high print volumes and less demand. Over time, I’m not sure it has the strongest distinguishing characteristics so it should just appreciate slowly as sealed supply is opened. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
I'm taking a HARD pass on this set. Japanese 151 will continue to take my money.
I’m seeing a couple people say the same 😅 I definitely felt this way originally but the inclusion of shiny IR and SIR cards has swayed me.
Long term I’m definitely bullish on 151 but I like this set more than I thought I would and will be watching it over the coming months!

@drunkendragon759 Hey, I’m glad you’re collecting! Between English and Japanese is a bit of personal preference. In the case of 151, the sets are pretty much identical except some cards from the Japanese set were pulled into promo cards boxes in English. It’s just missing a couple though!
I personally prefer Japanese sets myself, but they also tend to be more expensive right now. If I was going to recommend the most cost effective option I’d def pick English for 151!

@@falloutmirelurk4471 It's a large 360 card set with the majority of "hits" being penny bulk cards. Nobody cares to open this set and its massively overprinted you can find a whole case for close to $1,000. I wouldnt touch it as an investment
