I really love how khabib answers every time when they ask him if he fought a fighter that is in his prime when he also was in his prime saying that it is their time to shine ,he is the real definition of a champion

@Karakas I think aside from being a nice person without an abrasive Twitter persona, the other thing that hurts him in terms of mainstream fanbase is that his style is quiet and clinical. Casuals even hated khabib, but khabib was way more aggressive, being very risky with stand up and manically doing throws and takedowns and relentless pace. Islam is patient and careful, once he gets grip he is not going to do a bunch of throws and scrambling, just very quietly and efficiently get a submission. Some of the other nurmagomedovs in bellator like Usman and Umar are more fan friendly. Both are prominently kickboxers with excellent high kicks but also elite grappling when they need it.
