Khabib meets Putin after McGregor victory

- Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated MMA fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov on his "convincing" UFC victory over Conor McGregor, and Khabib's father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov on raising such a good athlete, during a meeting in Ulyanovsk on Wednesday.
Commenting on the brawl that erupted following Khabib's victory, the Russian leader remarked that there were some unwritten rules that all fighters should follow.
However, the president stated, "I will ask your father not to punish you very cruelly because you accomplished the main aim, you won."
Meanwhile Putin noted that Russia is "one big family" and that "if we are attacked from the outside, not only you, we could all jump in such a way, and there could be hell to pay. But it's better to avoid such course of action."
"Of course, I have not controlled myself in some moments, because there were provocations even during the fight. I hope that the court which is going on now will be in our favour," Khabib replied.

In comparison with his behaviour, his disrespect towards me, my parents, my country, I behaved with dignity. From the UK here: Conor is an absolute treat for the entertainment factor and highly appreciated for his style of fight. But recent events and his attack on Khabib from all sides, physically and verbally left me questioning his character on the whole. To call Khabib backwards for not drinking alcohol and insulting his father as well as country-men immediately removed all traces of entertainment out of the picture, leaving a sour pinch in my eyes and ears. I was gunning for Conor but prior to the fight seeing how nasty Conor can get and learning more of his ignorant nature pushed me in favour of Khabib BIG-TIME. So congratulations to KHABIB and all those who supported him - a 100% deserved win and I don't even care about the post-fight madness, Conor and his camp had it coming!
