    For 32-bit float, when setting the gain, what results in the highest quality vocals, erring on the side of setting the gain too low, or too high, and then normalizing all peaks to 0 db in post?

    Sometimes I use my drone to record me walking and talking, and I would use an audio recorder like this and sync the audio in post with a clap. However, my concern with this is that the prop noise from my drone will get picked up in the recording. Would the base model DR-10L be better for me since I can manually adjust the gain with that, just enough to pickup on my voice but not the propellers?

      In the scenarios we have used the DR-10LPro works really well in isolating surrounding noise

      @@Noisegate Amazing, thank you. Meaning, not emphasizing background noises?

      One other thing to note is that the DR-10L Pro comes with a free copy of iZotope RX Elements 10 Audio Restoration and Enhancement Software. There is a feature on that software that should allow you to reduce/eliminate the prop noise called "repair assistant". I have not used this yet, but the description seems like it would take care of the problem.

      @@MrJordanian77 Interesting I will have to look for that. I do have that software and the most appropriate feature I believe was called "denoise."

    I put it on charge. And it doesn't seem to load. Need a specific setting?

    weird you have to add an adaptor to use bluetooth when zoom f2 has it built in, or tentacle sync track e built in. so weird

      @antiseth3964 Před rokem +1

      Yeah I’d almost they rather have a separate sku for the BT capability like Zoom does. At the end of the day though, the BT just isn’t necessary for me. These things are set and forget, and if the build quality is any better than the F2 it’s a worthy purchase.

      @HouseofRen Před rokem

      @@antiseth3964 yeah I agree on the build quality for sure. thats why I moved from zoom f2 BT to the tentacle sync track e. I then got the tentacle sync timecode boxes for the cameras. game changer.

      yeah it's weird dude, so bloody weird. like mate, how weird is it? super weird

      @ShaunBaker21 Před rokem +2

      Not weird at all. Zoom has 2 versions. One with and one without BT. I'd hate to purchase the non BT F2 only to wish I had bought the BT version further down the road. It's at least an option with every Tascam DR10L Pro.

      @@cakehnle I have and use several DR-10L recorders. I don't monitor any of the recordings and have never had an issue. This is after about 300 videos involving actors, short and long, and in all kinds of situations. It stores two versions of the audio, one with a lower cut-off volume which eliminates spikes. The quality of the audio is always great, and I can easily tweak it in post-processing. I had to seriously monitor audio when I used wireless mikes. But the DR-10L eliminated all that.

    😮if you are more than 30 feet away you cannot control the recorder.

  • @DavidGriffin
    @DavidGriffin Před rokem

    Yeah.... That's bullshit. You buy the recorder, then buy the Bluetooth adaptor, then buy a damn Atomos Blue. $215 for the recorder, $39 for the adaptor, $149 for the damn Sync Blue. Instead of dropping a simple jam sync ability. That's $403 to get started with all the features.

    • @KHTCKHTC
      @KHTCKHTC Před rokem +2

      I mean it's not like it doesn't function as a recorder without the extras, not everyone will need/want the BT dongle and timecode transmission but hey, get angry at a youtube video
