HOW TO remove BMX freewheels

Got an old BMX wheel and need to get your freewheel off? This is hands down the best way to remove freewheel from your BMX rear wheel. This is my go-to method. Mongoose, GT, Haro, Dyno, Redline.

Or use a vice for a far less complex result by placing the removal tool in the vice and use the rim as leverage.

If you can’t find the tool take it to your local bike shop. Maybe they will have one to fit and help you out.

Is it a 4 prong about 40mm across? I’ve got a Suntour from 1978 and the ParkTool FR-6 is a good fit.

* breaker bar. Put the right spanner in there and not an adjustable nut rounder.

Unfortunately my right size spanner can’t be shoved into the end of a pipe. Certainly would stop the rounding of the removal tool yep.
