    You can use a heat gun and peel it right off

      That is true if the vinyl hasn’t deteriorated from weather. Many are cracked and worn and won’t peel.

    Would love you to do that video of decal removal on a painted frame. About to do a 2002 haro backtrail xpro the blue with rust spots under the clear. Paint is 85 percent and I'm going to keep the frame original. Just need to see if i can get the 21 year old decals off nicely. Thanks for your time will order a new set off you. Have the heffer pro and jackhammer bar one coming already. Didn't get the full yet as i was unsure about removing them. The wheels and bars and forks are getting a new chrome and paint job done.

      I’m trying to get to it. Work is keeping me busy at the moment.

    How is that not scratching the chrome finish? I found just using a Scotch Brite on my chrome was leaving scratches.

      I’m not scrubbing, just wiping lightly. The pad is a cheap soft dishwashing pad. No where near as harsh as a scotch pad. In the tight areas on this frame the chrome is not great and in some areas completely eaten away heavier steel wool makes no difference. Again only lightly wiping. If you have mint chrome you probably don’t need to use acid to clean it.

    Where is the pained frame version? I looked through your vids and can't find it.

    Hey man would it be better to do decal removal then citric acid bath? Cheers 🤙🏽

      Either way works. Usually rust doesn’t get up under the decals, but it can. If you’re doing a full decal replacement anyway, makes sense to do it that way.

      Yep heat gun is good if your looking to keep decals. Not so great on paint though.

    Can one use acetone on a painted frame? Thanks

    • @re-rides
      @re-rides  Před 9 měsíci

      Unfortunately acetone will take some of your paint off as well as your decals

    You really should have left all of the decals on there.

      Nah. They were ugly. New decals, if they’re available. 👌🏼
