  • The Grossglockner High Alpine Road, which proceeds from the Salzburg town of Fusch on the Grossglockner Road to Heiligenblut am Grossglockner on the Carinthian side, is one of the best known landmarks in Austria and is regarded as one of the loveliest excursion and panoramic roads in the world. In any case, it is one of the three most visited excursion destinations in Austria! Most of this high Alpine road, which spans 48 kilometres in length, blends almost seamlessly into the mountains, with every twist and turn heading straight into the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Right up to Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe to Austria’s highest mountain, the Grossglockner and the Pasterze Glacier, the biggest glacier that is still in existence in the East Alps. Majestic mountain summits, glaciers, lush valleys and woodlands - a sight that provides mountains of amazement!
