Best season of nail biting, pressure cooker slug fest in decades!! And MAD respect for 222: could've been selfish, but chose to put his team above himself! That's the kind of person you want in the trenches!!

He knew his title hopes were long gone, if he was battling and in contention for a title no matter how much of a long shot it may be, you wouldn't see him do that for herlings and no one would expect him to. However, it's still good of him to do that for his "teammate" and team. He's a company guy and his selflessness like this are why KTM loves him. He's won a lot of races, won a lot of titles, and the only thing he cares about at the point is race wins and titles, if he cant win then he wants it to be another RedBull KTM... anything less than winning is just dissapointment, so for him, giving up that spot didn't mean much at all to him with where he was at in the championship points, but it definitely benefited and meant a lot for herlings and his title chances (he didn't need those points in the end anyway). But man, people sure gave Marvin hell for doing this for Dungey (dungey at the end fidnt need those 3 points either) Marvin wasn't the first to do it, definitely won't be the last... even the great Hannah has done it. #LetBrockBy
Herlings after missing multiple motos, came back, put a good points lead until another issue arose which put him at a deficit and then came back AGAIN against 2 really bad dudes in Febvre and Gajser who know how to win and manage titles is pretty incredible... Herlings is like James, he'll win a shit ton of races, but with pushing so hard and crashing and the injuries will that speed translate into more titles and how many titles has he potentially given up? That speed didnt translate to more titles for James unfortunately. 2 450 supercross titles but I still call him the best supercross racer as far as speed and technique is concerned, the dude was amazing. With James crazy speed, it's amazing how Ricky outdoors always found another gear and won every overall he raced James for, besides 2 or 3 which he was leading before a mistake. James outdoors never beat him straight up without RC crashing, not even in 07 during his part time racing... with 125MX and 250/450MX wins, RC is in the 80% win ratio, in 450's its in the 90's. 76 overall 450 wins out of 90 possible overalls (7 full seasons plus his 6 races in 07) , 2 perfect seasons... ricky only lost 14 overalls his entire 450 career, how Insane is that? Not sure how I got on that, but here we are lmao.
Herlings will go down as one of the best to ever do it regardless if he ever wins another title again, just like James did. That raw speed and ability is undeniable, he's done things on a bike that other pros are confused of how it's possible lol.
