I followed your instructions. Thanks for that. Removed the old broken base, unwrapped new assembly from China, only to find they sent me one for a fiat (very different set up). After 3 months of email back and forth, they finally repaid all my money. At one stage offering to meet me half way and refund 30% of what I paid them. 30% in China must be different to here. Had to reinstall the old mount for the time being. Fustration plus.
Sorry to hear you've gone through such kafkian BS.
Helped a bunch thank you
Thank you!
Thanks for leaving a comment Lukas.
The only base that I can find online seems to have a very short stubby areial at the top of the base. Asked if this is the areial and they just say went dont have the areial part. Still looking. The wreckers want AU $85.00 for a second hand one. Bugger that. Drilled out the centre and wound a long screw in. Works great.
Great you found a way around the issue. Sometimes, DIY is the only way.
Great video 👍👍
Thanks for your comment Jan.
Can you unscrew the old aerial and attach a new shorter one
One can unscrew the arial itself without removing the mount, but I don't know if there is a shorter arial or if you can cut the old one to make it shorter. In my case, where the long arial is a problem for covering the car with a car cover, I have the arial permanently removed, and that uaually doesn't affect the radio signal much except when leaving the city. And when travelling I put the arial on or attach a pendrive with some "music for the road": Blues and rock and roll to keep my eyes open, well concentrated or sing along with the tunes 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
