  • If your 3 5 6 7 or x series won't start after a collision or hard bump you might want to start at the positive battery cable. Thanks for watching

    Very Informative
This feature seems to be useful as I had customer Driven his Benz to my workshop which had a very massive front collision, indeed that was very close catching fire to the car.

The oblong window on the underside of the box...does that show if it's blown/separated?..it seems that's what it's there for, but not sure if there's supposed to be just a seam between the metal plates or if you're supposed to see the cylinder.

After collsion, my e90's airbags deployed. My mechanics bypassed and repaired this cable and the car runs, but the voltage inside the car is low, i have installed new battery but it still stays low. The voltage at the battery and after starting the car at the alternator are well within limits, but the internal hidden menu always shows low voltage without starting the engine. It howers around 12v not 12.5/12.6. Resultantly my CAS module has gone bad 2 times. Could replacing the positive cable fix this issue?

Hi my bmw 335 has been in a collision with the airbags deployed but it has been a year and only today it was fine until I turned it off for 10 mins then it wouldn’t turn on. I did hit a major pothole on the highway before I parked it and turned it off could it have possibly now all of a sudden came loose ? Cause I know the repair shop did not replace it after the accident.

I have got a bmw f30 330e had a front passenger corner damage, airbags were deployed. At the scene of the accident the car went in ignition but would not drive. After I got it back from insurance the car does not have any power. Does not start, cannot even lock or unlock doors using keys. BMW dealers in Bradford said it maybe due to starter motor as that is one of the main recalls and that the positive charge is removed from the battery. They are not willing to work with it.
Also I have taken it to an electrician, he bypassed the positive charge and the car would start and go into gears but with 5 seconds it would cut off again. Does that mean the car is not holding charge and now battery has gone completely flat.
Someone mentioned that if airbags are deployed the hybrid battery cells burn and need a new battery for it to start again.
Any help will be appreciated as I have had the car repaired before getting it started and now stuck with no options. I have had the car since September 2022.

Good video, but stupid feature. This feature keeps you from being able to get the car to the side of the road, means that it has to be drug onto a roll back to haul it off. It is, in other words, a safety feature, that makes you less safe. Thanks for the video though. It was very helpful.

In other words, if this thing fired off at some point will the airbag indicator always be on, or can it still have fired off without the airbag indicator ever showing up?

espperre it would show on the cluster if it did. I've seen them break apart inside without a collision. .i've also seen people reattach them and use a resistor to keep the light from coming on. If the car has never been tampered with its unlikely to have it go off without throwing a service airbag warning .

Involved in an accident front end damaged, and air bags were deployed, however the key doesn't seem to sit in it's spot, it's as if the key isn't for the car and is not recognised and therefore can't get it to turn on, I've tried the spare key too and no luck, doesn't seem to want to go in? What could possibly be the issue?

@@petershanle9675 My problem on my 2008 335XI was the ground cable that goes from the frame to the engine. It was badly corroded not allowing a good ground to the starter.
You can check this by jump starting your car, but instead of putting the ground wire from the jumper cables on the frame, put that ground cable on the engine block. If it turns over and starts it's your ground cable. Hope that helps.

If it's an 06 to 09 try this. Go back to your battery . On the negative cable where it attaches to the battery there will be 2 small wires connected to the negative clamp. It goes about a foot up into the quarter panel and has a blue connector . Unplug the 2 wire blue connector and see if it starts. I think the wires are grey and black but not sure. I know it's a small blue connector for sure. Disconnect it and leave it unplugged. Let me know if it starts.

I use my jump pack and it starts right up dash light gone and I'm on my way. I did notice that the battery isn't properly secured it can shift around while driving. This is happening more frequently 2xs today and then to add insult to injury some 🤬🤬 backed his truck into my driver's front fender and wheel while parked.
