World Mechanics I have 2008 328i when you push the start button it acts like it’s cranking but doesn’t turn over we’ve replaced fuel pump still nothing but when you spray in starter fluid it starts briefly what else can I check ? Please someone call or text me 8069391316 I’m desperate

World Mechanics please I have a problem with my BMW E46 N42 320i 2003 ...
the transmission light comes on at speed 3 when I drive my car after it’s being stop for more than an hour ,,, when the light come on I immediately turn the car Off for less than a minute, after that I start again and it goes well all the way , and it does not happen again until the car stops for more than hour.
This issue was happening ones a day , but now many times.
Please I need your suggestions for what to check and what to do.

Let me add to the list of thank you’s! My mechanic told me it was the starter and possibly even the engine locked up. I paid him for his diagnostic test and told him what I found out from looking at your video. He told me with no hesitation and with a look of disgust. “ That is not the problem I’m telling you it’s the starter” In front of him I pulled out the relay and reinstalled it and the my car started right up. Now he’s asking me what relay I removed for future repairs on other vehicles. Thank you! You saved me tons of money on unnecessary work.

Here's my story so make sure you sit next to a fire pit 😅 - I remember moving my 330xi back and forth one day it was parked and I just literally moved it forth and back, wile the car was working just fine prior to this, the next day I tried moving it to go somewhere, it didn't wanted to start, no crank, no start, all it did was like a metallic cranking sound, I went into trusty CZcams and found this video, tried everything as shown here and nothing worked, called a mechanic, he came and checked it... He told me the starter had just died. Same week I buy the starter and call another mechanic to get it installed for me... When he finished working on the starter to my surprise in the process of mounting and fixing the starter, bunch of hoses from the ccv were now broken or lose, so I now had to replace those as well.... Bought the lower ccv hose and the upper ccv hose, bought also one hose from the breather line that sits just right on top of the alternator, so now fast forward, I bought everything, put everything back together, and for my surprise... Battery just died on me also... Now I'm just waiting til tomorrow, cuz since everything is coronized now businesses closes early, to get a new battery.

@@leviriordan7183 oh yeah I got to fix it… it was one of the best feelings in life… was able to save 1500 bucks going to an AAMCO repair shop 😀 but that car is long gone now, I sold it for 2,800
Have 2009, 328i, 96k. Drove all day then stopped one last stop, 10 min. Boom, no start. Tried jumping. Only dash lights, interiors, beeping doors but no start. Got towed to garage. was starter . Replaced & Back on the road! :)
im in the same boat, replaced the IBS sensor (negative battery cable) but no change, ended up being the starter
I have this problem now but 2015 model f34 and doors beeping won’t lock, telling me that battery is now quick drain, interior lights and radio etc all working but when I click to start it just makes a single clunk.

I have a 2009 BMW 328i and I had the same problem, car ran great and went it to start it and nothing just a click. I researched the bmw forem and found no answer so I changed the relay start fuse and still nothing I charged the battery and still nothing, tried jump starting the car and nothing, all the light worked fine too, so I pulled the starter and had it checked at a o Reilly’s store and it failed so I put in a new starter and she started right up! I hope this helps someone with the same problems.

2007 328xi wouldn't start yesterday after thousands of good starts. Push button nothing. Lights on and off but no power going to the starter. Watched this video and bought a relay, replaced it and the car started. Let it run for a few minutes and then turned it off and immediately tried to restart. No start. Push button no power to starter. Felt the relay and it was warm not molten hot by any means but noticably warm. Any tips on where to go now? I will test the new and old relay tomorrow.

Same issue I’m having I had it towed to a shop and he’s telling me it’s my starter but a new starter was put on a year ago. I’m going to try this. Long hesitations to start then just stopped all together. I get one click and nothing else
I have a 2009 bmw 328i. It died one day and it wouldn't do absolutely anything. Wouldn't jump. Wouldn't turn over. I assumed starter. But right after I purchased a starter, it started working...I replaced the battery and the ibs sensor. Now it cranks strong, but won't start, no codes.
I have 2008 BMW 335xi. Initially I got no crank on pressing the start button, I removed the relay and tried to start sometime and then put the relay back and I was greeted with multiple failure messages. Airbag failure, ABS failure, Break failure and what not. I am going to order the relay and replace. Please advise.

Mine has water damage I took it out to clean and it must’ve ruined it completely cause car won’t start and I can hear a rattle when I shake it. And it is want to the touch other things is my wipers are going crazy .

Wow, my neighbor told me about the relay and I didn’t believe him but now I’m going to attempt.
I had the car in the shop. I paid three grand to take it out and after a month it would not turn on only crank. My 335D would shut off every five minute until I made it back home. I shall try this. Any other advise I will take?

Some times the car starts with no problem. Other times it does the exact thing as in your video. Could the relay still be the problem.
Did you replace it with a bmw relay? Or it can be any brand?
Updating my issues 😞. After diagnosing. A no crank no start starter was bad I fixed it crank one last time just to say asta la vista baby my motor lock up 😞
Mine 328xi wont start and i took this relay out and it was hot. Hopefully replacing this fixes my starting issue.

I have a BMW N54. The last time this happened, it was my battery. I replaced that, and it's been about a year now and now it's doing it again. My car didn't start when i shut it off at a light a couple days ago. I heard a clicking noise So I'm convinced it was the starter. I just changed the starter, and now there is no clicking noise but it still won't start. All my lights are on so the battery is good. I'm gonna unplug this relay out and in again and see what happens, I'm also going to replace the battery in my key since it was low a couple weeks ago. I will come back with an update!
Guys, I found the problem. I changed my relay, my key battery, I tested my battery, I changed the relay, I changed the starter. None of this worked! It turns out it was my GROUND STRAP underneath driver's side, going from body to the engine. The engine was not getting ground, the strap was all corroded and literally broke by just touching it. I changed it with one from the auto parts store and my car started right back up!
If you tried hooking up cables to jump start your car, and nothing happens (even if your lights turn on on the dash) Then you need to check your ground strap!! I should have started with that first and saved me hundreds of bucks. Hope this helps someone before you go changing parts.

In a BMW 2011 328i xdrive, removing the "Kl." relay also caused the glovebox light to turn off, so that could be an indicator of a bad relay, without needing any test equipment.
I noticed my glove box light turn off after I removed relay then turn back on after but now my dash isn't lighting up and car won't start

I have a 2011 bmw 328i. One day I hit a curve 30 minutes later. The car cut off. I replace the +cable from the battery but it didn’t help. What I found out that there is a square relay that was getting very hot. Any ideas why that relay was getting so hot. Please let me know.onces the relay got cold it would re start nicely .

Hi! I have exactely the same problem! Mainly in summer, when wheater is hot. After long or fast ride car always wont start. I need to pick up the hood and wait until it cool down. After 30-60 minutes of waiting everything works fine and car start from first hit. Do you know what was the issue?

Hello, I have no crank no start problem, but my problem is when you put the key on the car, I get first light and cabin power. but when I push the start button, It doesn't turn on the Ignition dash lights (engine check the fuel level, airbag abs check, etc.) so no crank either. do you know anything about it? ground wires and battery checked they are all good. and tried to jump-start as well. @@alexandresongbe8204I think due to power fluctuations, Steering Wheel Lock was blocking startting car. So I turned off that in car system. Charged my battery and it started.

Relay's do go bad on any car and not just bmw's. Take care of a car it will last. Had a Ford did the same thing!

Hi please help have this issue but mine is intermittent and start from cold no problem every time it’s after you have driven it and come to start it after only just stopping and then if you wait 20 minutes it starts again but this items says no available on the link could you send me the part number thanks!

I have an ‘06 330i. When I insert the fob, the dashboard lights up. When I apply the brake and hit the start button, everything shuts down. Any ideas?
I have a 2006 BMW 325 I changed the valve covered gasket it ran rough now it's got no start and when it was running it has no throttle pedal like it staying in idle mode push the gas powder down nothing now it has no start
My BMW 328i has this same issue (I believe). If I remove the key and insert it 3 or 4 times it cranks up. Could this be the same issue?
