Also, even if he has eight counts, the plan was to give him monetary penalties ($1000×3, now x8?) and a warning that further acts could result in more severe punishments. The prosecutors have already recommended punishments for violations of the gag order. All the judge needs to do is decide the issue. So yes, there *is* a gag order, and I expect a decision to be made eventually. We just need to be patient. Yes, Trump is getting preferential treatment, *but the trial isn't over yet.* Patience.

Yup, that's what I was referring to. So far, speculation is that, since it's the first actual contempt hearing, they'll just do the $1000 fine, per count, and say, "But do it again, and you'll go to jail." Ridiculous, honestly, and any other American would have had bail fully revoked long before this.

I know… I went to court for a ticket once, and the heating was broken, it was winter, and we were in NH, so it was cold AF. My friend was in the audience, and since he’s bald, he kept his hood up to stay warm. No warning or anything from the judge, he was immediately arrested and jailed for 2 weeks for wearing his hood in the court room.

I think the judge is likely to give him another chance but put him on a very strict warning. We all know how crazy radical right wing followers can be. The judge will likely try to avoid an incident of Trump followers being wiped into a violent frenzy. We all saw what happened on Jan 6, there's no reason to suggest they wont do something similar again. I do think that if trump continues to violate the gag order after being sternly warned, he will bring the hammer down on further violations.

If I were his child in the situation they are in I would not be happy about it, but I would understand.
