    I need help painting my kitchen cabinets!! I used the degreaser to clean. Used a green scrubby to scrub. Wiped them off after they dried. Painted a drawer front with your oval brush. Rolled it with your roller. IT LOOKS LIKE $...! There are a LOT of BUMPS and BRUSH STROKES in it. You make it look so easy but it is NOT! I sanded the bumps and brush strokes out of it and tried it again. Still looks like $...! What can I do to make the paint smooth?????

      Her instructions are confusing to a beginners
      To answer your question No. They’re two separate products. First use TSP, then rinse. Then use deglosser. It softens the old paint.
      IMO, you’d be better off with plain soap and water and a light sanding with 320 sand paper.

    • @christ4578
      @christ4578 Před 5 lety +3

      It sounds as if the paint had started to dry before you stippled. If the undercoats weren't completely dry, applying another coat on top would've re-wet the paint. Then if the top coat had started to dry a bit stippling with the True Applicator could've pulled up the semi-dried paint. Try stippling with a True Applicator that's been spritzed with a water bottle and do small sections at a time - like a door front. Paint then stipple, go to the next small section and repeat. Before going to your next coat of paint make sure the first is completely dry so it has time to bond with the surface. It could also have been caused by the project still having dirt and oils on the surface. You have to clean very well before painting. I hope this helps!

      @@chrissantee8489 Your not supposed to use a roller. You are supposed to put it on and stipple it with the applicator. I tried both ways, only the way is shown here works. I do think the other paint works as well with the liquid sandpaper so long as it's a super high-quality one and Lowe's or Home Depot paint I can use a sprayer to put it on, which is very smooth. Not sure if that's possible with heirloom traditions. Super curious if that works. There are lots of options out there, so I am glad you shared your experience.
