Blizzard Entertainment, under the leadership of Rod Fergusson, has unfortunately fumbled the highly anticipated release of Diablo 4, marking it as 2023's most disappointing video game. The entry into the legendary RPG franchise, highly praised in the development stages, has fallen short of player expectations. An overarching issue plaguing the gameplay is the implementation of a generic level scaling system. Rather than providing a satisfyingly challenging experience tailored to individual player skill levels, Diablo 4's current mechanics fail to capture the diverse range of player interests, leaving both veteran and novice players unsatisfied.
The game's issues don't stop at the controversial level scaling. A key component of any RPG, especially in the loot-driven Diablo universe, is the diversity and quality of loot drops. Under the direction of game director Joe Shely and production director Tiffany Wat, Diablo 4 seems to have missed the mark. Players, having endured grueling boss fights, are left disheartened with the uninspiring rewards. The loot system lacks diversity, making gameplay repetitive and diminishing the satisfaction of grinding and character progression.
Despite these shortcomings, there is a silver lining. Diablo 4 bears the hallmarks of a minimum viable product (MVP), suggesting it's a base version that Blizzard intends to improve over time. This has raised valid questions regarding the company's release strategy, but also offers hope for significant improvements. Community manager Adam Fletcher has hinted at their receptiveness to player feedback, sparking optimism among the game's community ahead of their Campfire Chat on June 16th.
Several prominent figures in the gaming community, including Asmongold, Force Gaming, Fextralife, and Venruki, have voiced their opinions about Diablo 4's current state. The critical reviews have echoed the sentiments of many players, amplifying the call for a more refined experience in line with what was promised. Despite the wave of criticism, these influencers also emphasize the potential for Diablo 4 to become an excellent game and still seem to enjoy it in the current state.
Given Blizzard's history with long-term game development, and their success with titles like World of Warcraft and Overwatch, it is plausible that by 2024, Diablo 4 could see a drastic transformation. If the development team takes to heart the feedback from DM: Diablo 4 and the wider player base, we could see vast improvements in level scaling and loot diversity, and a more enriching, immersive gameplay experience. Therefore, despite its rocky start, Diablo 4 still holds promise to become one of the best games of the year in the near future.

I didnt even bother buying it because I knew of Acti-Blizz's manipulative tactics and I could see what the gameplay loop would be from playing the beta. My thoughts from playing that is that the game would be fun for a couple days while the infatuation was still high but then decline into mindless tedium. I also generally did not like some certain artistic design choices which reeks of this company being filled with neo-marxists putting their assinine propaganda into the game and expecting me to pay 90-120 CAD to play their garbage.
Last Epoch will be a much better Diablo game when it releases. Generally Acti-Blizzard is now a company of hacks who are puppeting around the corpse of old blizzard's ips to make money off idiots based on brand recognition and hype rather than quality. Certainly there are things to tempt me to play diablo 4 but not for 90$ maybe 50. Then theres that collectors edition with no game in it just speaks to the whole culture and methodology of the company that they think they can shovel shit at us and think the consumers are stupid. The activision execs can go fuck themselves.
I think fundamentally what acti-blizz will do is strong arm people into purchasing optional content while telling them its still optional and not pay to win by making the paid boosts reduce grinding and play time. Thats what greedy companies always do as they make the game frustrating and tedious for people who do not want to pay. It will essentially be like another version of WoW where they want people addicted to the content that will be devleoped and the monthly sub fee will be "optional". I mean you look at their 4 day early access manipulation and ask yourself are they going to do something like that again if they made money off it the first time around? At this point its not acti-blizzard that is ultimately the problem but the players are actively asking to be milked and exploited. To me its not a matter of if the game will eventually become good but its a matter of self respect and not giving this shithole company any more of my money to insult me.

I remember when Blizzard had integrity. They took ages to release a game. They would never release a product that wasn’t finished. The end result was some of the best games I have ever played.
the game is also missing a pretty important thing that all diablo games have had before and that's Diablo.
My biggest issue is the boring itemization (which directly links to boring builds). I played to lvl 75 and had 0 drops that got me excited. So that's that.
Also, I wish the drops were random, so I could get items for other classes that would make me want to play them (doesn't really matter now, that the items are overall really not exciting).
I would be absolutely livid and angry if a unique or legendary for druid dropped while i was playing on rogue
@@noirnova8260 But do you see how it can make people want to try other classes? I like gathering stuff for other classes and builds in D2 and POE and then try them out.
@Mulukkis i dont care about the loot for other classes unless im playing that class. All i care about is getting the roll i want for the class im playing and making loot drop class specific really helps narrow down my chances at getting what i want. If i got a unique wand for sorc while playing rogue and ive been going for that one unique that i really want id probably close the game and be uninterested in playing for a couple of days.

Diablo 3 was the same way, it required A LOT of patches before it became replay-able. I think it is pretty misleading to say it is the worst game of 2023, but hey...anything for clicks, right?
I agree totally on your assessment of their development strategy (having been involved in dev and IT more broadly). Where I disagree is with the assertion that it's a good thing. This is exactly why corporate priorities, and art DO NOT mix. There are aspects to D4 which are very good, and a lot more which are just simply incomplete. This lackluster insult to the Diablo franchise essentially just being the laziest (or most efficient if you prefer) way to continually extract revenue from customers trying to get what they paid $70 - $100 for to begin with. It's three card monty, and though I don't find that surprising, I do still think it's not something we can classify as "good".
Saying D4 is an MVP when Blizzard has all the data for success isn’t a good assessment when D4 is doing nothing different from the previous 3 installments which were successful. D3 had a bumpy road but, that was nipped in the bud fast. D4 is more of a failed MSP that’s confused with no real clear defined path for success at this point. The community has already said from the first Diablo what’s needed for success. To not listen to feedback and to implement ideas from upper management over the players is a recipe for disaster.

Lod is king for sure but I don't miss the days of grinding the same 4 bosses, having the meta gear a week within a fresh ladder and NO endgame period. D4 is pretty good
These games used to be about finding rare loot and trading. Today these games are 100% for casuals; everything has to be obtained quickly without effort.
AD/HD generation at it's best. Even many of the racing games today are the same, you get the best cars immediately and players love it.
I love grinding, challenges, getting a reward for actually achieving something. I love good end game, where you can experiment with builds and come up with a plan to achieve finding or doing something challenging.
These games today suck ass.

The fact that they didnt fix but actually doubled down on the microtransactions and overpaid bs that was plagging D3 at launch p*sses me the f*ck off. Also D2 resurrected has an offline mode. But just requires an online check-in evrey 30 days would be far better and give players more control over what WE PAID FOR! But nope.. these corporations wanna own and control evreything you have despite the fact we pay full price (103$ Canadian for me) for this crap!
The game is boring. It's kinda fun at first until you realize that it's not going to get any more enjoyable and no amount of leveling or items is having any impact on gameplay after about level 40 or so. The special effects start off decent for lower levels, but then they don't really get much better and then they plateau into a world of lackluster and repetitive. Even new content feels like more of the same. Speaking of which, why are there little laptop looking icons on the minimap? How do laptop icons on a minimap (among other things) fit into an immersive game experience? Do all of these spoilers even have a place in the game at all? It's like they decided to not even build the "fifth wall" into the game. Someone complained they didn't like backtracking or searching or complicated character builds, items, attributes, resistances, skills, etc., and Blizzard capitulated. Who the hell is the target audience for this game anyways? It's definitely not adults. Oh, and can we get a little variety and brighter colors in the environmental color schemes from time to time? The whole snow canvas seems like a copout as well. Can't imagine investing the hours I sank into D, D2, and D3 into this game. I'm so disappointed. I'm sure we can all name a dozen titles of games that are significantly more enjoyable in the same genre as D4. The lack of condemnation of this game by streamers has me concerned about their integrity as being unbiased and not beholden to these game producers.
I've been saying it for years and all the way up to D4s release "the sequel will be D3.5 not 4, itll be slightly graphically better with no real changes and half a story" and couldnt have been more right if I tried. In D3 we complained about no end game/repetitive gameplay, in D4 10 FKN YEARS LATER we're complaining about no end game/boring gameplay. Its fkn absolutely pathetic blizzard arw snake oil salesmen at this point and dumb ones at that, couldve just updated D3.

The game has up points, but I found myself just slogging through it. I have no reason to go back to it. I don't care about fomo so unless they add something really amazing, it'll be dead for me.
I disagree about the story. I found it boring and predictable with a few high points. My characters personality was the only thing I liked.

Sadly I can´t refund the Diablo 4 early acess pre-alpha, since i´ve already spent too many hours playing it. Too bad, i would have loved to get those 15$ back... Ah wait, it was 90$, since i purchased the DELUXE early acess pre-alpha.
Beautiful gorelike graphics, good music and atmosphere, woke storycharacters, almost no mid and endgame, shitty items, boring skilltree, bugs, bugs, bugs. Blizzard again delivered an unfinished game full price. Imagine car companies delivering products like triple a game company more and more do. This is not only about bugs, it´s about completely missing contend and features. Just outsource the testing phase to the custumers and even let them pay for it.
"Well, this car has no lights, seatbelt not working, we`ll fix the trunk soon, backmirror 10$ dlc, who neends an airbag?, and so on, but it looks fine, doesn`t it? 50k$ please, sir."

Let’s not forget about the gollum game when we talk about the worst game of the year 😂 the only bad thing about Diablo 4 is the forced online component. It’s stupid for me to be lagging in a primarily single player game
No first-hand experience but watching people play the Gollum game has so far been more eintertaining than watching people run across an empty field in Diablo 4.

You say you are a software engineer that has worked in the industry for a decade.That sounds very cool and I have absolutely no reason to doubt you however with your credentials you must know that that is a hyperbolic statement and that this is nowhere near the worst game of the year. That statement is purely for clicks, you offer no insight and actually contradict yourself multiple times. I refuse to engage any further and finish this video. If it fails you dont care? You cared enough to make this video. The good thing is you don't have to worry about that because the game is already a major success.
The statement was largely for clicks and the content could clearly be worked on for the future. Oftentimes I'll spend hours scripting videos making sure I get everything right, this video was more off the cuff with a few key points to talk about. It was mainly focused around building something incomplete and iterating on it through user feedback but clearly that could have been said better.

The classes just feel blah. I feel a lot of the times like I am fighting my way through the mechanics. It needs UI changes. One place I found this to be a problem was the Necromancer using all pets. In this scenario you have to have raise dead and golem on your action bar. This takes up skill slots and you are left without access to some slotted skills even if they are all unique selections from each tree grouping. The potion change is not good either. You are gated on how many you have. Then in fights you are working to release more. Ugh. Also if you are maxed on how many you can carry if you run over another ground potion it does not replenish your life if it is not maxed. Instead you have to use potion then run over and get new one. Such a simple change would make playing during a battle so much better.
Also for the pricing there is no excuses for an unfinished or barebones game. Consumers need to stop making excuses for this half assed game development. Game companies have forgotten what they are. They are creators of content that users are willing to exchange money for. The customer needs to be treated correctly again.
I hate the potion thing I'm in a boss fight and thinking back to d2 when I had a full stock of pots like what thought process went into this to make it easier so we don't have to buy potions id prefer buying potions instead of upgrading and a measley 4 potions fuckin a blizzard lmao
I personally think the game is a massive let down. It’s so boring. The loot is boring the classes are boring. The first 2 hours of gameplay the story is super good, great cut scenes. This feature disappears as the campaign gets to about the middle. Season won’t change this game. It’s dead already
Just wasted money. I got the 89.99$ version which is expensive. In my country this means 175$ and the minimum wage is 780$ I don't work for minimum wage but still is wasted money I regret buying this game and this is going to be my last time buying anything from blizzard. Diablo 3, warcraft reforged and now diablo 4 I think it's more than enough 😂. I think if they keep treating their fan base like that they are going to lose it. Let's face it every game from blizzard is a disaster nowadays.
Its not the worst but not remotely the best, its got problems and the issue is releasing the base product absolute barebones, when it needed more at launch.

- not that i care about graphics in game, but to see a much more dark and depressing atmosphere is good!
- the combat in the game is almost on par with diablo 3! diablo 3 still has some of the smothes combat in any hack n slash game out there, and it shows in diablo 4!

But can you live in a house and be protected for the weather conditions that has only a foundation? Fu*k no. So if people like to fool themselves and play several hundred hours to farm the 6 uber items and don't get it, but others get it for free due to Blizzard's sloppiness. It's up to you how well you behave when Blizzard comes up with an absurd formula to get the 6 items, but still doesn't follow it. I'm saying that blizzard are a bunch of liars that don't work consistently. A few days ago people were banned because they found a bug in the coding and exploited it to farm items in basements. Then, at the same time, allow 142 accounts to own the 6 uber mistakes made by blizzards. Do we players have to accept that the 142 players are not rewarded according to the rules that we play along?

watched the video to the end. I was waiting for the bashing to start but You liked the campaign, the leveling, the loot and you enjoyed playing it? So why did Blizzard make the worst game of 2023?
From user reviews on Metacritic people are not happy with the game. I think they have a really good starting point, but the game is a ways off from being great, at least if you're expecting a traditional ARPG experience.

For me, the "Dailies, or Bounties" are the worst I've seen in a game. Even Diablo Immortal is better. They should have combined that with Diablo 3, but instead tried to create something NEW, which is a huge mistake. Not enough waypoints in zones considering the size of the zones. The worst part for me? The XP grind is the worst. I mean, its insane. I play solo mostly, and on average 5 hours a day and just hit 100 today. I do everything, helltides, nightmare dungeons, boss and legion events. And the dungeons being 5 lvls below your level, hinders the leveling when you're doing the dailies, (whispers). And not getting your level loot drops is extremely poor insight into what Diablo players want. I've played since OG Diablo, and without a doubt, this is the worst loot system of any of the franchise. Any gamer that plays these types of games will tell you, the main thing they want, is LOOT. Not just crap garbage but good items, not even necessarily great items, but something that makes you think about possibly altering your build would be nice. And having the main way to generate gold which you have to have to be able to use the extremely limited enchanting system, is selling the garbage loot. And its not a choice, you will not have any gold if you do not pick up the trash to sell. This could be remedied if they increased the amount of gold you get significantly from kills. I'm to the point where I'm not picking up drops, because I have a ton of gold, but I got it by selling everything I picked up, which again, slows you down when leveling. And you can't purposely leave a legendary on the ground, because it puts it in your stash. That's nice, but annoying. And there are some EXTREMELY op builds, which when you are in a group with someone, can frustrate players. Contrary to popular belief, it really seems that if you don't actually hit a mob you get less XP. I've seen this when attempting to power lvl a friend or just being in a group during legion events. And the dungeons are predictable, and very repetitive. There are less than 10 layouts from what I've seen. For such a large game that is supposedly open world, its disappointing. And if its open world, where are the other players? I rarely seen other players except during events and in town. My wife and I literally sit in the same room to play this but are never in the same instance. And many times when you switch to another "realm" to team up, you lose your potions and incense which are the only buffs you can get. And uber Lilith? Dead, but one shotted more times than I care to say in this post, lol. One shot mechanics should not be in any boss fight that is essentially the "End Game". And the pvp system is poorly done. I was hoping for huge zone with like 75 or more players, just a slaughter fest, but instead its an instance like the rest of the areas and you hardly see anyone. And the season leveling was poorly done. You put points as you get them, ( and it takes forever to get them) into your Seasons Blesssings. You can boost some things, such as xp boost. But you only get it to 8% and with the 5% from an elixir, you have a 13% boost. But I couldn't see it or notice it at all. Unlike Diablo Immortal, you earn enough Platinum to actually buy something with it, but they give you only 666 by season journey completion, 134 short of buying the cheapest item, which is transmog sets. And not having set items, in a game that has a historical foundation of set items, was really a let down. Almost as if they couldn't be bothered with it. No bright green drop to get me excited because it might be something I need to complete a build. And the unique items? A HUGE let down, you can't modify them except raising the stats like with normal items. And they tend to suck, so even if you get one you want out of the actual few that help with certain builds, chances are you're going to sell it.
What do I like about this game? I enjoyed the story, and seeing references to the older Diablo games. The mounts are nice, the transmogs are nice but the mount xmogs are better looking than the ones for your character. What the heck? The game looks great, the skills look cool and work well. I guess you could say I basically like the graphics of D4 but the rest of it sucks.

You're right, Blizzard is intentionally delivering an unfinished product. After that, you're wrong. They burned an enormous percentage of their base who will now either never return or if they do, will refuse to spend money. I'd be happy throwing hundreds to Blizzard over time if they deserved it but after their scam launch I won't even be making the minimum future purchases of xpacs. I know I'm not alone.
Your comparison with PoE is an absolute false equivalency. PoE was released for free in a better state than D4. D4 was charged at AAA price and plays like a failed Kickstarter MMO. It should also be mentioned they did this immediately after their last scam, Diablo Immortal, which is now dead. Waiting for it to be "the BesT gAmE oF 2024" is just asking to get scammed again. Hard pass.
level scaling has made me quit at level 30. It's boring because level 1 is the same as level 30. Boooooooring
D4 feels like an unfinished, boring mess missing a ton of quality of life features. Yeah, it's a gorgeous game that captures that Diablo aesthetic but the game itself is flawed.

D4 is terrible and I won't play it anymore. Same experience I had with D3. Just lost interest because the good loot is impossible to find. I hate sorting through endless affixes, cheap game mechanics that add difficulty, and constant nerfs. I am done giving Blizzard money for an unfinished game. I will never buy another Diablo game from them again. I had more fun with D2 Resurrected.
No Sets. Same 10 legendary effects every single item. Almost no variety. Cosmetics look like sh*t. I have a sorc and there are like 20 staff skins of which 18 are ugly or have zero uniqueness to them. Farming is boring. Same 2 Events and Dungeons again and again. World events and bosses are completely usless and only drop garbage. No Diablo in a game called Diablo. I could continue but im too lazy
I pay 800 (swedish money) this is my point of view of this game there is no act just big map and chapter after you take down lily all is left is grind and event bosses and no diablo boss. If the game was 20 ore 30 dollar then maybe ok but sorry i stop playing it now

It's just not gripping me the way I thought it would.. That could be my fault for being gullible. But it marketed and promoted itself to be SO much different. It was supposed to be DARK and back to D1 roots.. but it's just not doing it.. Some PG13 games are darker and more mysterious. I can't believe I'd ever say this.. But I enjoyed Diablo 3 WAY MORE than this... That's saying something.
I agree with you that Diablo 4 is a bad game. But I don't agree with you saying it will get better. Diablo is supposed to be more than just a generic ARPG. The music is generic, there's no fixing that. The items are generic, there's no fixing that. The foundation is flawed. These are people that have no idea what the hell they're doing. If you're not a fan of the original two Diablo games, then what the hell is the point of playing Diablo? Why not play PoE or other ARPGs if its just about the gameplay?
I love the game but for me personally, there is no class I actually enjoy. Maybe the next one that gets released fits my playstyle and brings me enjoyment.

I dunno, if metacritic is to be believed then this game is pretty awful. If I were a game reviewer I'd probably give this a 7/10 as it has a lot of potential and I'm excited to see it continue to evolve.
But also to some degree all titles and thumbnails are clickbait, if they weren't people wouldn't click on them. Although I do think I need to work more so that the story being told lines up better with the title and thumbnail, this one was a bit of miss, apologies 🙇♂️

BLizzard always tinkers there toys, ... If you want a quality finished game...

As another software engineer/ developer, i have no clue how you could say the game is well made/a good product on a few of the fronts you mention.
For one, the ux of the game is terrible. The game is absolutely crammed with menus and sub menus and the clicks-per-action is outrageously high for virtually everything you could do. When starting the game, you can press any button on your keyboard or controller to skip the opening cinematics, but the default position for the selection box os OVER THE DAMN EXIT BUTTON, so if you hit the "A" button 3 times on pc, the game will close, and yhe user will have no clue what happened.
Then there is the gear. They have added so many superfluos systems that the average player, or even a hardcore rpg gamer will be utterly baffled by many of them. Whay the fuck is an overpower? How does it vary from a crit? How do i get a lucky hit? Thats not the same as a crit either? Why is my strength not effecting my offense in any way? Why are gem bonuses bordering on pointless? Am i using them wrong? These are all questions i have either asked myself, or seen others ask in abundance.
Finally, the game continues to be plagued by server issues to tgis very day. The connectivity, the rubber-banding, there arent a whole lot of game-breaking issues, but the massive performance dips when entering towns (due to outrageously incompetent programming), the constant rubber banding, and the strange behaviors of context aensitive items for quests continue to be a low to mid-grade nuisance to this day.
The game overall is okay, but it is so clearly dripping with contempt for its players wants, and incompetence in serving them that i can scarcely believe some of these miatakes were not made deliberately.
Mind you, none of what i have mentilned is new with season 1, everything i have mentioned was present at launch and remains so now.
i have all diablo games and this one just boring to death.. its crap in every way you wanna look at it...
the classes, the skill tree, the repetitive enemies and dungeons for god sake....and not forget the loot!

To be fair, user reviews on metacritic have called it the worst game of the year but also "Diablo 4 A Game With Problems But Bright Future" would not be very compelling either.

The glitches on pc is terrible! It just black screens. I hard reboot the pc have to re-enable the graphics card and then have to reinstall graphics drivers. Happens 2 3 4 times or until i give up and quit playing it on pc. Then i start it back up want to play some more and then it does the same thing
Got my 100s in 3-4 day solo with no exploit to finally realize that there is no endgame. The backtrack and the anima collection + killing all monster made me sick of this game to the highest point. And im not even talking about the Renown. The time to find a upgrade is unreal. Then, they release a patch that upgrade density and removed some affixes like leech ressource. The number of sigil I had to reroll because of this. They also nerfed a lot the exp gain in S1 without telling anyone , its sad because everything is bad. Who is the noob that like to have to click to open a milions door, or to click a shrine that is blocked by 4 mobs spawning by 15 sec. intervalle for 5 waves long or a cursed chest that you cannot open right away because yet again you have to fight 5 wave of 5 mobs that take hours even if you OS them. I just skip it all. It was also sad to see some streamer using exploit to exp faster in group. Blizz didnt patch anything at S1 and knew it from Eternal. I was expecting more for sure. What a horrible game if you want better just learn PoE or D2. It waaay more fun. All those useless quest, the mount that get stuck everywhere or when you see a barricade, you forced to dismont and wait 9 sec to go again. All element of the game are painfull and some thing should really stay in a mmorpg !
Got to lvl 70 and just bored already. Actually got bored at 50 but kept on pushing but ya. Feel crappy cause I spend 75 bucks on a game I don't play. What a waste.
After the campaign, I got extremely bored.
The Thing I liked about Diablo up until 4 was it didn’t have all these side quests it feels like it takes away from the main story like Diablo 3 was so story focused I was hooked but idk this just feels like a regular MMO
Red flags first came when they announced this game with $70+ single-player and local coop is online only. I boycotted it then and I'm happier for not getting the pile of crap

Diablo 4 is my first Diablo game. I really enjoy it but reminds me of a watered down mmorpg like elder scrolls online. If you like d4 do you want play any mmorpgs?
This is my third Diablo game (with 2 being the first one I played). It definitely has some mmorpg aspects to it, although it reminds me of Path of Exile except you can run into people in the world as opposed to just the town centers.
I have gotten into MMORPGs in the past, New World was the last big one I played but got into ESO a bit and played way too much WoW 😅
d2 lords of destruction was better
I don't know if it's nostalgia of being a kid and having fewer responsibilities or if the game was truly a masterpiece that will never be replaced, but I definitely agree.
By far, even after several years I was not still bored to play, I played D3 2 weeks and stopped, it was annoying.
Always online, laggy servers, boring 😴 loot, no offline mode, terrible build options for the characters.

Hears a question why not make it free to play because it has really bad monetization. 24 dollars for a skin why. Considering people paid 120 dollars give or take in the us and why have different additions it a digital format now can you tell me that your a developer you should now.

I just wish classes and skills weren't so stiff...
Its why after 10k+ hours of D3 with demon hunter I got tired of the shut stutter style of combat. AKA you press any skill and most of the time you get ani locked like using multishot on DH. Which leaves you open to a 1 shot for 0.2 seconds lol.
I didn't think the campaign is good at all. In D3 the worlds and the intensity ratcheted up, by Act IV it was unbelievable. In D4 it is just more of the same monotony. I was waiting for something to happen. Overall it just felt so low-stakes, like the current phase of Marvel movies.
I stopped playing during Act IV, the whole thing was so monotonous, there was nothing to make me want to finish and push into the end game.

POE is free if you want a demo, but really need to spend money for item slots for it to be playable in the long term. Plus the cosmetics are legit so add in another $60 every few seasons.
BUT I will say POE is amazing and they do micro transactions right. Hopefully Diablo will follow suit.

People saying Poe is free are liars and without a doubt spent way more money on Poe than they will ever spend on D4. I mean anyone who has played Poe for lets say 2 years or more have spent atleast 100 bucks. I think Ive spent probably 2000 bucks in Poe since back in beta.
Also D4 being a worse game than Poe is very subjective. If you play games like 30+ hours a week and you want a long lasting time then yes, Poe is better. But if you spend lets say 10 hours a week playing games (which is way more common) then D4 will be way more than enough and its just overall a way smoother and more polished experience.
Poe these days is made for real minmaxers, but that player base is tiny compared to what the majority want from a game, which is a smooth and great feeling game with somewhat decent character depth, cool story, cutscenes etc. D4 has everything the big audience wants and a decent portion for the more hardcore audience.
One last but very important thing than many reviews fail to mention is that because of the slower pace Diablo 4 is actually quite a good experience with a party of friends, while grouping up in Poe is absolutely horrible.
@@CodyEngelCodes Nobody is forced to spend 60$ every seasons and stash tabs are not so expensive ~ 15$ if you wait the right moment to buy it.

You're extremely overestimating Blizzard. They did not create a MVP so that they can get user feedback and iterate. They did the bare minimum to not be raked over the coals. New features that majorly improve the game are not on the way. Microtransactions are what is on the horizon. I can understand where you're coming from as an engineer but this is a different beast than what you have experienced.
And if I am then I hope there's a place for this game in eternal.

Diablo 4 is Diablo 3. From the first gameplay footage I saw that was released I was immediately disappointed and I didnt like it because to me, it looked almost exactly like Diablo 3. Dont get me wrong, I love Diablo 3, but I want to play something else its been what 10 years guys?

Some of the design choices (and lack thereof) are hilarious. I love Diablo 1 and 2 and I hate this. It FEELS singleplayer, and they're about to make that worse in the long-run.

The campaign is trash. You know this video will be BS when he said its great. The story makes no sense and we constantly ignore what Lilith is trying to tell us, our character literally follows a random mary sue on what to do instead of people studying demons for decades.....

Diablo 4 is casual and perfect for the moms and dads. I play sorc and I’m level 81 now and I’m pretty bored of the endgame content it’s for me really hard to get motivated to play this game so I move on now and wait for poe2.

Gotta disagree with the story being compelling. Shit was boring from the jump and playing with anyone made it worse as everyone just wants to rush through and skip every bit of story. Level design is trash. Balancing is trash. Without using defense buff skills barbarians are feeble and instantly melted by more than three enemies of any type. This game sucks plain and simple.

Their hiring new devs for diablo 4 . What 2 months after release? Thats not good news. This isn't blizzard North. Totally new company. Their devs. They aren't diablo fans. I have to thank Blizzard for having Server Slam. By the second day of server slam I was so completely bored I just refunded my pre-order. I was able to purchase about half a dozen fun games instead.
