I’ve been on this corner as a cyclist turning left to complete the Regents Park Loop. I must say I’m always very cautious after watching these videos. I’m alarmed that no prosecutions are being made for these impatient drivers. We go back again to question what is the police doing to combat misdemeanours in the society? Pls start a petition Mikey and I’m sure you’ll get a lot of support!
Agreed, and I’m even more alarmed by the drivers AND cyclists yelling at him for going out of his way to make drivers be safe?!? Mickey is an unsung hero and I’m mad that the police aren’t prosecuting as much apparently
i love to see ppl that push in line and are better than the rest of us get what is coming to them
Why haven't the council put up a barrier down the middle by now? I've seen them in London in other places. Would solve these problems straight away.
And Mikey you are a hero! Keep up the good work and stay safe.

The guy on the bike, giving you a hard time, is an absolute POS.
"You're blocking the traffic mate."
No, he's blocking the traffic, by having his car on the wrong side of the road.
"You're not a policeman, you can't tell me what to do" and continues to tell you what to do. What is wrong with people now? Simple rules which are easy to follow yet people seem to do whatever the fu*k they like. Well done on all of the efforts.
Yeah that guy clearly has sludge for a brain.

The people arguing with you about this are priceless, it's truly something.
It's because motorists are being emboldened by the insulate Britain bad publicity... Personally I don't agree with all that because it's, all in all, a bad take on environmentalism for a number of reasons the demands aren't thought through far enough. @@bradador1I think the argument goes that when cyclists do it, they mainly endanger themselves, cars doing it is far more dangerous for everybody. Agreed it's still wrong, Mikey is just aiming for the greater wrong.

The majority of the people verbally abusing you were the people you are trying to protect, I bet their attitude would change if or when they get hit by a vehicle driving in the wrong side of the road.

The police will appreciate and approve of what Mike’s is doing.
My British cynicism says that they have stopped prosecuting because Mikey is showing up the police force in this country. They hope he will give up and go away. Despite Mikey's amazing work, the police and government don't like vigilantes.
"Vigilante" is used for people who take the law into their own hands.
Mikey reports them to the police, and the police use the laws to prosecute offenders.
Hi Richard. Maybe some of the police are as you suggest. But I've watched a few of these videos and there are quite a few police members who turn up and are very supportive of what Mikey is doing. So luckily, they're not all the same... some good, some not so good.
The drivers going up onto the payment, [road blocked by illegal car] with children walking with their parents; another disaster could come from it - maybe thats why the MET is backing off; so much is illegal in these videos, even the road rage words of some the onlookers; the black girl in the Merc was among the worst in a recent video

Hi Mikey,
Do you have the complaint or contact information for the department that are dealing with these videos? And the local MP that covers the area?
I find the trend of no action disturbing and is reinforcing dangerous driving.
I am a driver and a cyclist, all road users should be held accountable.
Thanks for highlighting the issue
Just posted a similar reply before seeing this. Letters to the MP seems like a good idea.
I reported a guy in a fiat abarth doing well over 120 mph and across all lanes of the motorway, even doing a hint of sliding around a lorry to get back from the hard shoulder to lane 3. Sent HD footage back and front.
Police sent me a letter saying I needed to have one independent witness inside my car, despite having a mercedes with 2 other people next to me who saw exactly the same. On that basis they refused to go any further.
The point is, that abarth driver came out of nowhere like a missile. and disappeared even quicker. Someone is going to be killed.
@@Manu-Official that sort of response is worth escalating, the idea that clear video footage cannot be actioned unless you have an independent human witness in your car with you at the time of recording is just ridiculous.
If you had video footage of you and your car being attacked by a road rager with a tyre iron, what that officer is suggesting is that if you don't have an independent witness in your car, they can't do anything.
I can't help but think that if you had a passenger in your car witness the Abath incident, that officer would come up with another reason why they couldn't do anything about it. And if you could meet that requirement, they'd make up yet another reason why they couldn't investigate.
CCTV footage is used daily to prosecute ,you don’t have two humans watching it in control rooms mostly only one .
@@Manu-Official if that is true, and I'm not saying it is or it isnt then surely all motoring convictions where footage is taken by a police unit manned by a single officer would have to be quashed also. The response they provided cannot be accurate
I can't understand the mindset of those people criticising you. You point out wrongdoings and I admire you for that. Keep up the good work.
Its a terrible mindset because we may all do this from time to time at certain junctions that many people do but if you are faced with this situation if you don't reverse and join the queue you basically think you are above the law, very easy to say ah shit I'm sorry and reverse back 🤣
the mindset is simple really, he's not an authority and although what he does is ETHICALLY right, and I totally agree with him, he could cause more damage than the dangerous drivers he stops
Law says of course that you can't drive on the wrong side of the road, but it also says to not create traffic man
The ones who criticize him are probably the ones who would do it himself since they apparently think it's just fine. It's a tough cycle to break
This is comedy gold watching them beg you to move 🤣
If this guy doesn’t understand what the problem is ! He definitely needs to go and retake the driving test !
Lucky to have a good friend like that.
Good to see you’ve got back up from others when you’re getting grief. If people stop getting involved when dangerous things occur to others, the world would be a very sad and dangerous place. Good on you Mikey. I wish there were people like you on the tube stopping people trying to cop a feel of others. I was 14 when this happened to me and everyone just lifted their newspapers or looked the other way. Mikey, you're a hero. Keep up the good work.
The fact none were prosecuted, and this has been mentioned in a recent video that they weren't prosecuted, suggests to me the police have decided to ignore your efforts, That is very wrong of them, if true.... letting drivers get away with this behaviour will encourage others and inevitably end up with someone injured or worse... Well done to you, and finally the idiot saying you weren't a policeman, well he really is just an idiot, hope he reads this....

I guess if someone is unemployed nothing is their job. Does that mean they can't help anyone In anyway?
If you're not part of the solution then you are part of the problem. Thank you for being an active bystander, Mikey
Again, The Polices' job is to enforce the law, which they do. The job of prosecuting is down to the CPS, judges and magistrates
I suspect someone with a bit of influence got caught and prosecuted by footage sent in by a member of the public and they have barked enough to cause the prosecution team to take a step back from using submitted footage.

There must have been some change at the police processing end. I hope you keep a good record of the number of ignored cases as it is clearly negligence on their side, and there is bound to be an opportunity in the future when matters get out of hand. Some officer could well be committing a section 26 offence and needs to be caught and prosecuted.
Another factor is that trade vehicles, eg vans and lorries, are only allowed in Regents park to do collections & deliveries, they're not allowed to use it as a route to drive through.

No helmet, captain yellow specs "you fuck off and learn your Highway Code". Brilliant
I think we are all going to have to start sending letters to the department responsible for TORs, and perhaps an MP or two, to complain that they are deliberately ignoring evidence of breaches of legislation. They are suddenly not living up to their mission of "Tackling the vehicles, drivers, and road user behaviour that cause the greatest risk on the roads."
I wonder if it is data collation time, and "Somebody" is trying to keep the figures artificially low by not processing actionable events.
Yes. Mikey has 70k subscribers. If an MP got 100 letters - they’d surely take notice.
That is a joke that none of them were prosecuted. What were the reasons?
Perhaps the police unit is overworked or understaffed. They have 10 days from the offense to get the notice of intent delivered
Employ more staff then...oh wait...
I suspect political will may be conflicted just like the public reactions, as surely the law could make it so a fine could be partly used to pay for any staffing required, especially if fines were based on income. And looks like the process can be quite automated anyway with a special uploads website and if notices can be sent to a registered smartphone for that number plate and if police issued certified recording hardware with included upload feature to prevent video tampering delaying prosecution
It’s mind blowing that people do this. I’m Canadian and this is the equivalent of people turning left from the left lane, which is insane. Only drunk drivers do that.
Why do the other drivers let them back in, instead of making them go to the back of the queue?
Suggestion......why doesn't somebody invite the 'Insulate Britain' crowd to this junction?
Why am I addicted to these videos? Much love! I wish more people were like you!
