Yes, age is relative. I am 68 and am remodeling my eighth house with my husband, things just take me longer than my first house. I think of Rosie as young and an eighty year old lady in my crochet group calls me young.
Yes, I also am not a social being, prefer my alone time without interference from someone else telling me how I should be, what I should do. I am 65 and recently purchased the old, falling down, much needing love and care home I've been renting for the past 9yrs...Little by little I will renew what has been ignored for decades. It's gets harder as you get older, you're not as strong or as fast but at the same time it gives you confirmation that you can do anything you put your mind to and age is just a number.
I am beginning to realize that being AUTHENTIC is our highest vibe. You are definitely that, and we appreciate you sharing that with us!

I have just discovered your channel and have been binge watching! So, I am watching this video which you posted 3 months ago, so I don't know if you will see my comment. I love seeing you travel by bike and with a trailer carrying all you goods (groceries, wood!). My initial attraction to your content was seeing a woman doing the renovations. I also am a woman and you are inspiring me to "give it a try". Why not? What is there to lose? I walked the Camino in Spain as a pilgrimage and I came home with a lifetime mantra: You can do anything if you give yourself enough time and grace. Rosie, I think you have a lot of introverts watching your channel. I am a ISTJ and have learned more about myself in the last 10 years than ever before. I am in my mid sixties and now can live my most comfortable life in retirement. I love your lifestyle and as a single woman living in far north Washington state, I find that nature and traveling sooths my soul. You are amazing and so funny! Some woman enjoy DIY others just get on with jobs needed to be done . some like to leave all that to men and don't consider it work for a woman . I am proud to be able to do pretty much all DIY jobs and not have to depend on waiting for a mans help or call siblings or a father figure .Happy new year to you all :)

I'm an ol' grandma watching and must say that your 'simplicity and freedom and peace' are what attracted me to your vids. I pray you just remain who you are because it is a most wonderfilled thing when a person can 'accept' their limitations and their gifts and simply 'be'. This is one of life's hardest challenges...to be yourself and not 'allow fears and pressure' to warp you into someone that is not you. WELL DONE! I agree. Although I'm about 60% extrovert, but in combination with being a highly sensitive person. So basically I love being social, but need lots of alone-time too. People tend to mistake alone for lonely.

I would add one thing: Some of us ask you about things(again and again) because we are looking into traveling this same path and every time we ask online we are inundated with conflicting advice. You're living it, so your opinion is highly valued(because we know how much thought and research you put into your decisions). Once one realises that we only have one life & if people don’t like who we are or what we have. It’s there problem not yours. I'm a 32 plus year union carpenter from the exhibit business in the U S A...East coast...just want say you did an extraordinarily great job for doing it ascon the job training!!!! Get yourself a right angle cordless drill though...it'll make job easier for you in those tight places
Loved your Q&A.. You have said many times that you are not doing this on a massive bank roll and that you get things has you can afford them. If people are so interested in getting a stove fan, car, wheelbarrow - they should send you some. You did answer one thing for me - you are a design architect - wondered how you made such detailed drawings of your designs. I am quite amazed at your resilience, fortitude and accomplishments.

In regard to people making suggestions I truly believe for the most part that people are good and just want to be helpful (of course some may think their opinion is the best and be conceited about it) but when viewers watch their favourite CZcams creators we in a sense invite those creators into our own homes so in a way it's easy to get invested or actually feel concern or feelings of friendship for creators we continually bring into our 'home'.

Great drone demo, thanks. I can relate to what you are doing, somewhat. I have been renovating my house that was damaged in a fire over 10 years age, since I didn't have enough fire insurance, I've been paying as I go. I made a small apartment in the garage so I guess, I've been renovating 2 places. For me learning as I go is normal, my friends think it's "amazing", for me I'm just doing what anyone in my position would do, and I'm enjoying the process.
I’m an extrovert who also likes being alone. There are such people. Being an extrovert, though, has always made it easy for me to try new places, things and activities.

as someone who has most definitely given repeated advice, and someone who has received the same comment, more than 10 times, it is absolutely maddening. If youtube had some sort of auto comment search that told you your comment was similar it would be nice lol.
As hard as you work, if you do make a new shower facility, I think you should make part of the construction a sauna. The luxury of having a sauna after a long days work mid-winter. Firing up the sauna to soak up the heat before you shower, then step into the residually warm dressing area you have designed, it would be warm from the adjacent saunas heat. Those first few winters had to be so cold, I imagine sliding into bed still warmed from the sauna would cut that shiver time down waiting for your own body to heat the cold bedding.

Your comment about extroverts made me smile. I think that so often.. Just a bunch of people who can't stand their own thoughts, can't live without constant background noise and put it on others. I get told I should be more extroverted so often. They think I lack something 😄 and don't even consider sth might be wrong with them. Imagine an introvert would tell an extrovert: "Hey, could you please be more introverted?! You're hurting all my senses at once ."

I was pretty amazed as an Architect that your eye for design elements and design structure was more than just luck. I have to say the place looks awesome. Your design is limited to your carpentry skills now but your thought process around cabinet design and layout is awesome. I am really enjoying this series. Cheers from Boston. YT recommended your channel to me because I subscribe to the Dutch guy rebuilding some sheds in the Italian alps. I've been startled by how different the comments are. He is treated reverently, and while most of your followers admire you, too, there are so many patronizing remarks. The ones who criticize you for wanting to build a "cute" home, the people indignant that you dare to be annoyed at getting the same elementary advice over and over again. The worst seem to be men who are just IRATE that you are not noticing their comments and gratefully following their advice. I wonder what is the reason that difference, hmmmmmm...?

There are many CZcams creators who just throw their videos together but yours stand out as being very professional plus we have the same taste in music which always helps.
