As a ou fan, Great game BYU,
The pick 6 by OU was the same play that cost the Seattle Seahawks a Super Bowl win nine years ago against the New England Patriots. Everyone was like let M.Lynch run the ball. Aidan Robbins today almost ran for 200 yds. He was the M.Lynch for BYU. Strange play calls by BYU for all the turnovers.
True dat
Exactly
Both ended in an Int, but not exactly the same. The Seahawks ran a pick to get the WR leverage inside but the DB made a play on the ball. The BYU just made a bad play here.
Also, the Seahawks ran that play so they could get enough opportunities to get into the end zone since time was expiring. BYU ran the play with more than enough time left on the clock.
A slant is pitch and catch if done right. Same as the Super Bowl play the corner played it perfect. Not a bad call but a good play by the defense in both situations
It’s true 😂
Even though BYU lost they still put up a great performance 👏👏👏
BYU could’ve won, but OU capitalized on the BYU mistakes and take it all the way. It is fun to watch a competitive game-this was a good one!
Oklahoma is overrated if they had this much trouble with a 5-5 team.
@@readegloeckner6532you are a fool. College football means the biggest underdog can win. I love it when asswipes like you run their friggin mouths. Shows how stupid you are.
Come on boy. I want you to run your mouth again!!!!!
@@readegloeckner6532Texas barely beat Iowa state G we dropped 50 on em
BYU played well honestly. They were supposed to get destroyed and they made a game out of it. Not bad.
i was commenting on the oklahoma breakdown when they were saying how ou should run away with this because of this or because of that. my comment was "so, byu is going to bring their absolute best. no matter what their record is?" and i was right that is exactly what they did!
Man you can hear that BYU crowd loud and clear. What a great fan base!
You can also very clearly hear all the Oklahoma fans there too.. You can hear all the "Stoops" cheers when he catches the ball and there are a lot of empty seats in the stadium as well.. Not that great of a fan base.
Great effort by BYU they did so good against a ranked OU team😊
And at 10 o’clock in the morning!
And honestly, the stadium was only about 80% full because byu had been playing pathetically and the weather. Should have been louder
It’s a shame that the only way to get your team up and ready to play, is when you play OU. This wasn’t the same BYU I saw last week or the week before.
This kid Sawchuk put the team on his shoulders in crunchtime
Indeed he did. He took over.
Great game from BYU 👏👏👏
OU's first-ever win over BYU.
BYU had this game marked all over campus and local media. The crowd was definitely a factor. The Cougars came to play. Oklahoma was lucky to get this win.
agreed
Good news is I finally finished thumbing through the entire NCAA rules and regulations and there is nothing in there that says it's bad to be lucky.
Better lucky than good he he
You’re not wrong, but this is how every home game crowd is - I’m there every game. Great fan base. Don’t forget your earplugs. 😂 It’s crazy loud.
I agree..when BYU plays OU they become Alabama like and beat us..we're 1-2 vs the cougs..that's respect..they're great..just ask Michigan 😂
That pick 6 was a huge difference. The Big12 is a step up for BYU but nice to see them more competitive.
I love this. I wish BYU Oklahoma could be a yearly thing. Great rivalry. BYU is just another reason the Big 12 is amazing. 2024 they are fully locked and loaded. It’s going to be awesome
There is no rivalry here. BYU- Oklahoma have only played 3 times. The only thing interesting about the 3 games is that BYU took out OU's starting QB in all 3 games. You Big 12 lovers are always trying to manufacture non-existent rivalries. At least the B12 was smart and realized the league has next to no real rivalries and only protected 3 rivalries. That was indeed very smart. It is going to be far better to make all the B12 teams play one another than to manufacture fake rivalries.
Rivalry????
What rivalry?
theres literally no rivalry here and the big 12 is going to be very weak for the forseeable future. I dont know if anyone told you but OU and texas are leaving lol, and your other good programs already left a decade ago.
Bye bye bedlam game. I'll miss you.
Another defeat snatched from the jaws of victory.
After a blazing start … Sooners look ordinary of late.
I'm actually pleased with how they've played this season considering what last season was like after the coaching change and player transfers the defense is playing great considering what it's been for the last several years
I agree with both comments. We’re not as good as I thought after the Texas win, but going 10-2 would be a great season after last year.
@@AndrewFloeter12 considering where this program was before last season started to where it is just one season later I'm pleased with the progress and looking forward to joining the SEC
Last season was shockingly bad so I was pleased with this season. The osu loss was a shame.
The tandem of Gibson and Anderson will be deadly next year
Don’t forget Andrel Anthony
AMEN on numbers 1 and 4 as wide receivers...BOOMER!!
I bet farooq and Anthony will be back next year too 😊
OU did well on takeaways ,but gave up too many rushing yards.Hope they get a new kicker next year.
Let's go Jayden Gibson we love you
Sawchuck is gonna be good
Dude, Billy Bowman Jr. was like a 1 man defense on that drive that led to his 100 yard pick 6. He had all the tackles leading to that! It was the game winner 100% for sure. He's a difference maker
This is how the cougs are playing, tough! BYU gets better playing teams like the Sooners, Texas, TCU, Arkansas and Kansas. Play tough with who's there. Yeah baby!
TCU and Arky are trash teams dude.
@@Jimmy-sj9ny ok
Omg we need a new kicker
I'm an OU fan, but without the turnovers (especially the 100 yard "pick-six") we would have lost this game. For most of the game, BYU outplayed us. Kudos to the Cougars.
This BYU team should be ashamed of themselves. Where the heck has this level of play been the last 5 weeks.
Look, if your bad it's fine. But everyone knows this team was much better than all the blowout losses. Today they proved that. Had A-rod not called that stupid stop play on the goal line that resulted in a pick Six, this may have been a w for the cougars. Roderick just, man. He's just a dork sometimes. Run the dang ball in. You just matched down the field on the back of Robins and then he calls a stop play on the goalie when the BD's are pressing. Sometimes the play calling from his is just stupid.
To be fair, I think that pass was on JAKE not A-rod. Sitake said in the post game that was an RPO. As you pointed out, with the press coverage that ball should have been handed off, not thrown. Young QB caught up in the moment made a bad decision at a most unfortunate time and with the worst possible outcome.
Oklahoma had a pick 6 for a touchdown! Yet they still hold on the win against BYU
Oklahoma's defense has sucked for years. You can always count on them to lose games that take them out of the BCS picture every year. I've been an Oklahoma fan since Chuck Fairbanks, Greg Pruitt, and the Wishbone. Give me one good year and go undefeated one more time.
OU’s defense is the only reason they won the game?
But its also the reason the game was close. Weird day
Uh it's been like ten years since the BCS has been around
BCS?
OU wanted it more saying that they lost their QB mid game
Good luck next week BYU Get a win so you can go Bowling.
Grinch is gone but the D remains the same. Is it the talent or the scheme? It has got to get better.
Are you serious? They’re clearly not a juggernaut on D, but Grinch was giving up 50 a game out at USC
@@AndrewFloeter12 Dead serious. Still getting gashed and allowing teams that are supposedly not as talented to stick around. Are you serious?
Bro did grinch ever have players make improtant turnovers like a 100 yard pick 6. Would Grinch's defense handle teams like Cinci or help beat a very good texas team? The anwser is obviously no! Is the defense where it needs to be to win a championship, prob not. But it is leaguse better than anything under grinch and Riley@@brianharris9949
That 3rd and 13 Arnold threw to no. 3 . If he just looks to the other receiver, no.8, he's running free and clear to the end zone. The coverage lost him completely. Arnold literally could have had two TD passes in the 4th quarter if he just had a little more experience.
OU's kicker needs to be cut by the time they land back in Norman, he is the absolute shits.
Absolutely agree. However, I think K Zach Schmitt won't be cut from the team till the off-season unless....
HC Venables will no longer take the easy, missed FGs and cut Schmitt tomorrow or on Monday as OU prepares for the last game vs. TCU.
Nah, keep him LOL!
This was a good game.
Losing team first year in the Big XII, but only lost by a TD against the #13 team who beat TCU 69-45.
9:55 if y’all lookin for this one here it is. SOONER. BOOMER.
Our D tackles are not very good, Defense played horrible, if Jr didn't make that big play, this would have been a L
Just remember, the best team in the SEC next year will be coached by a BYU QB. They got Arch Manning too.
BYU badly needs pass rushers. Like the fast ones. They’ve got big guys, but they need speed on the edge to pressure the QB faster.
OU fan here and in reality we probably were outplayed but a few key turnovers completely changed the outcome of this game, most notably the pick 6 that went 100 yards for a TD. Had BYU scored a TD there I think they win that game no question. That being said turnovers are part of the game and the Sooners are creating way more of them with Venables leading the team so it bodes well for the future. Jackson Arnold came in and looked REALLY solid closing that game out. He's going to be great.
Again, the OU offensive coordinator play calling almost caused OU to lose another game. Somebody needs to tell Jeff Lebby the game is about going from north to south or vice versa, but Lebby seems to think the game is played by going east to west or vice versa. Somebody please offer Jeff Lebby a head coaching job to get him out of Norman.
Absolutely not! Nothing wrong with the offensive play calling in this one. It was the defense that almost cost us the game. Thankfully big plays at the right time and BYU turnovers were the d.
I'm as big a critic of Lebby that there is. I just don't like his whole hurry up, go fast offense. I especially hate going sideline to sideline, but with a true freshman at quarterback, I get it. He's trying to ease the guy in slowly and not overwhelm him out tge gate.I mean Arnold did great for a true freshman thrown into the fire, but he missed at least two wide open receivers for sure touchdowns. He's just not ready to start slinging it up and down the field yet.
If OU plays UA in the Alamo bowl that may be one of the best bowls this season!
Another ugly win for the Sooners.
Mann, the Oklahoma Run Defense was terrible with all the yards they gave up today (217); yet thankfully, caused 3 TOs (including that timely Pick 6) which was the difference in the game.
And Sooners' K Zach Schmitt, missing another FG. Sooners need to find another K in the off-season.
Sorry to see OU QB1 Damon Gabriel leave the game too early with a head injury , late in the 2nd quarter and now is in concussion protocol for a week or more. 😔
Oklahoma has four PK's on roster now. Not sure why they keep playing Schmit.
@@Jimmy-sj9ny Agreed, since Schmitt is no longer reliable.
From BV’s comments, he’s quite capable…in practice. Come game-time with pressure, he folds. I’m sure everyone involved, from coaches to players to fans are frustrated until he gets his confidence back and figures-out life. Btw, it’s Dillon Gabriel 😉
@@HeadlessAce Huh? Are thought we were commenting on K Zach Schmitt....
how did we switch to QB Damon Gabriel???
@@robertcurry7860 The first part of my comment was about the kicker. Then, at the end of my comment, I corrected your original post to inform you it’s Dillon Gabriel; not “Damon Gabriel”. Reading comprehension helps in this matter. Perhaps even re-reading your OP to see that you mentioned both players. Try to keep up.
OOPS, even Dillon Brooks received a mention! 🤣
I wish you guys wouldn't spoil every result with the thumbnail! Just put the final score in the title then.
BYU should be winning more games and it’s because they make the stupid plays like don’t get me wrong byu is my favorite team but man they need to not be dumb.
It's hard to believe we don't have one guy on this roster that can reliably kick a 30 yard field goal.
9:54 is the pick 6
Byu Wide Receivers are what you want in a blocking scheme
what happened to the Lefty QB for OU? Did they finally bence him?
Got hurt
Gabriel is one of the best QB's in college football. You don't know much about football do you
That ref mad at the OU coaches for letting their QB get hit in victory formation is totally right. Like cmon, you get paid millions and you don't realize that the QB only has to take an extra 2 seconds per snap to win? Coaches be better.
Caleb Williams maybe should have stayed😂
I bet rattler is hating himself right about now lol
I would not want either one of them!
@@ronaldlamascus1944 and you got great reason to 😂❗️
BYU gave up 21 points on turnovers. That means OU only earned 10 points in this game. Whereas BYU earned all 24 of their points and threw away 7 more with that 100 yard pic 6. That is what you call an ugly game all around. Plus, OU has lost their QB. UGLY!!!
And they still won. Doesn’t matter how you get it, you just have to get it.
Jalen hurts is saving OU qbs reputations in the NFL.
Have you fired your OC yet, BYU? Horrible drive management.
If my Sooners would have played like this against Texas 😅.. let's just say it would have been very very ugly JS
:48 What did you call him?? 🤣

Where is the BYU pass rush?
Good game, BYU. Please beat Oklahoma State!
saw too much chatter
that BYU wasnt in this game
and isnt ready for the new conf
BUT the score against #14 didnt
seem to indicate that AND seeing
the game its clear BYU is just fine
if having a disappointing season
Love watching BYU lose 😂😂
Other than one lucky fumble by BYU and a great interception, why do offenses that rank almost at the bottom of FBS look like great offenses against OU's defense?! What has happened since the TX game? What are they not doing in the last 4 or 5 games that they were doing against TX and prior? And the Defense is doing the whole antics of throwing their arms up almost every play like they are confused and don't know their assignments or are confused about where they are supposed to be, a la Grinch defense. So confused.
OUs defense is absolutely horrible. We gotta get a new DC next year. BYU just ran at will. Ridiculous!!!!!
This type of performance gives hope they(BYU) can maybe get a win in Stillwater and make a bowl game. Good game OU( the better half of the leaving teams) and all the best to you guys for the future. Well, except next week. I have to root for TCU. 😂
They already lost to Oklahoma state. 😂
Edited.
@cristopherbrown9279 you typed that out and sent it without double checking? OSU plays BYU at 2:30 this coming Saturday bud. And you probably just sealed their fate.
Looks like BYU is ready for the SEC.
Oklahoma was seriously ranked 6th at one point?!?!?!!
After beating #3 Texas, yep
BYU got baptized
Saturday
Mark Jones is ridiculous trying to be a thesaurus describing players and plays.
The way BYU's running the ball, the intercepted pass on the goal line was stupid, seriously. Bonehead play call.
Go sooners

He got a CRUCIAL SACK FORCED FUMBLE THAT SET UP THE GAME WINNING TOUCHD9WN
Very, very lucky.
No one needs this. Just show the cougarettes halftime routine in slow motion while you call the plays.
Wow BV needs to bench the kicker, he SUCKS!!! We need a transfer kicker that can kick past 30 yds when we get in the SEC
Is Retzlaff related to Pete Retzlaff, the receiver from the 60s?
Bofa Retzlaff
OU has got to stop playing down to lesser opponents! BOOMER!
SOONER!
bright side, is next year they have no choice but to play up! Will have to wait and see
For years, the little sisters line up one after the other to play OU as their biggest game of the year. The Sooners don't play down, they just get everyone's best shot.
OU picks up the W!
??????? not so fast my friend . . . . .
Oklahoma is now 9-2 after today's victory over BYU. not 10-1.
