This Video Is For Educational Purposes. It is meant to show the psychology behind how police interact with suspects to try and get their confession.
In this JCS Inspired video, we take a look at the interrogation of Sherri Papini. After going missing for several week, Sherri is finally found but her story doesn't make sense to the police
I hope everyone is having a good week. Don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss future uploads.

The loudest statement in that room is Keith messing with his wedding ring before scooting his chair away from her. It's sad to see the exact moment that someone realizes that their life is a lie and the love of their life is a scheming narcissistic cheat.
Awe I wish this came with a timestamp

It was something I noticed IMMEDIATELY. Like sirens.
I feel so bad for him. The media branded him a liar, too. However he's just a prime example of a truly-good guy living with a manipulative sociopath.
Remember kids: beauty is everything if you're just trying to get laid. If you're looking for a true relationship: there is FAR more important things than physical beauty.
Anyone reading this has already learned the hard way, or is going to.. but I'm trying to prevent the latter.
I know it's hard to believe that sex with a super-hot super-cute girl can get old.. but it always does.
*Personality and values are EVERYTHING. Looks just have to be good-enough. Most hot people never develop their morals because they never have to. They just have the looks, fake their personality, and have zero morals. A good personality and good morals are the most important thing in life.*
If all you want are hot people that pretend.. buy prostitutes.
Oh man. The way Keith instantly knew the cops were right… it’s like he could finally say to himself “I guess I’m not crazy after all.” The amount of gaslighting this guy must’ve experienced is unimaginable. Dude is gonna have PTSD and a tenuous trust in reality for the rest of his life.
Once you're out of the contact of gaslighters, it does get better.

My brother is a narcissist. If he repeats the lie often enough then he believes it, then everybody else starts to believe it and then it becomes the truth! How fantastic to see a narcissist confronted by facts and people who won’t be swayed by her repeated lies.
You should talk to him about his troubles in child hood. Kids lie like that to mask a troubling truth or to disassociate from a bad reality they live in.
Yeah! Good way to explain it, my dad is a narcissist and when we absolutely, 100%, catch him in a lie, he sobs and can’t handle the facts.

The way they treated the husband through this whole ordeal is shameful.

My sympathy goes out to her husband but i am glad he is now free. I fully enjoyed this whole video. To watch a narrcisist being unable to use their usual tactics to manipulate situations and people was pure joy

The husband was concerned about the children, and the detective said “…It’s been 4 years since” ……And? And? So what? The husband is right to be afraid, if she went to those lengths just to “visit” an ex boyfriend and not let a soul know that secret. You really think for a second she won’t do something MORE drastic? Now that she is exposed? I hope the husband can heal from this! Because he has been through ALOT 😢
Yeah, they straight up looked at the ball, and was like "oh I was supposed to catch that?"
They offered no help. They are a little narcissistic themselves.
If it were a woman, she'd get full support, instant restraining orders and protection meanwhile men are told to man up and deal with it. Sad.
I think what they meant was that in the eye of divorce court it might not hold up. They didn't want to give him any hopes as to what could happen, mostly because legally they can't give legal advice but also divorce court is a whole separate game where, unfortunately, sexism exists sometimes. But I mostly think it's because it's really not their job to tell people what to do legally, especially when they're at work being recorded.
Biggest fear of a narcissist is when they get exposed

Reminds me of the ridiculous lie my ex wife told me after she was confronted by her lover’s wife who told her she was going to tell me about it. She did come to my home to tell me the truth and my ex said “Here he is tell him whatever you want “. The second she started speaking my ex started screaming over her and the friend she brought along and tried to physically attack them. I restrained my ex so she wouldn’t be arrested for assault, in hindsight I should have let her go. The next day her lover came to my house at her behest to try to convince me his wife was just insanely jealous and always accusing him of being unfaithful. I found out where his wife worked and spoke to her. She was much more convincing than our narcissistic partners. She lost the control she had over me after this and it drove her insane. I didn’t know what narcissism was back then, I just thought she was crazy. These kind of people are toxic black holes with no guilt or remorse for their actions. She had another man living with her and our two kids in my house two months after we split up and they eventually married but she was incapable of happiness and destroyed herself with drugs and alcohol. She died five years after we split at the age of 42.
Holy smokes! You know stories like this make me glad my life is pretty dull :) Hope you are doing ok.
@@dextercool Thanks Bro. I’m doing good now. I actually think the covert did more damage because I believed she loved me. I knew my wife didn’t love me so that break up was easier to accept.

The actions of moving away from her were steady and practically continuous. Just fascinating. I wish I could've seen Keith's face when Sherry was obviously looking for his support. His body language said he was pretty much done with her.

One pattern I've learned about the narcissists I've known: Always the hero or the victim; never the villain. This one seems to have taken the role of victim to another level.
While in reality always the villain mastermind
In rare cases, the narcissist will intentionally choose the role of the villain, "so long as they are confident that they will have admirers" or even more rarely can become so off the deep end that they become completely vindictive.
I know just like personally, still has no grip on reality or life.
Ever noticed how it is always the "heroes" who win wars?
@Colonthree Enterprises I think that may be less about narcissism, more about an ongoing narrative. And yet there's still some overlap. Interesting observation.

I agree. There's a point at which I say that someone who has a mental or personality disorder has behaviors that are pitiable but not excusable. With personality disorders it often takes faaaaaar longer than 18 months of being at rock bottom or denied a supply of attention to finally convince them that they need hard core, ongoing therapy.
I’d love to see a interview from her husband about her behavior before during and after meeting her. Like a deep dive into a narcissist woman in a relationship and what he realized about it looking back

After soo many ppl telling about it
Anyone who has been around drama addicted ex-high school popular girls recognizes this exact behavior, right down to the high pitched whiny denial. They love drama and attention and always cause havoc to anyone who has the misfortune of being in the same social circle. When the dumb bishes inevitably get caught in their lies, their default is to act like victimized innocent little girls who didn't know what to do.

You described one of my ex
Very rarely does a narcissist get caught in their lies this is gold!
Agree, I couldn't help but enjoy it for this reason
I helped look for her. I took my horse and rode country that I thought could possibly have her body, or that had old shacks where she could have been possibly held. The whole community was upset and worried for her safety, and reached out to her husband and family.
There was tremendous grief when she wasn't immediately found, and then shock, and anger that we had been deceived by a spoiled brat seeking attention. It was a travesty of justice when she only received 18months. She didn't just accuse two women of abducting her. She accused two Hispanic women of doing it. There was tremendous racial tension in our area due to her accusations.
Thanks for the insight. One thing I don't understand from this story is why she'd go through any of this? What's the motive? I thought the branding was some type of fetish to commemorate some secret extramarital affair type thing, but then the detectives said there was no sex involved. She also had her nose broken, ON PURPOSE!! I mean... it just doesn't make sense. What kind of attention would this bring that she was craving?? Is it possible she craves the pain, not the attention, but this is her way of appearing normal, while still getting whatever stimulation she was looking for?
Sheesh... so many questions, such a weird story.
Men put themselves in so much risk. Why would the ex boyfriend help her to do this?
Female privilege is real.

It’s the way the world works, better start acting accordingly.
@LichenSand YES !!! What you said is exactly what it is!! “ same people just on a different side of the room” ! A lot of police are “crooked” so it’s crazy to me they sit in a room and lie to people to try to get them to “ tell the truth” innocent or not… smh.
Because husband was IN ON IT! And the cops know it. They just can’t get him yet. Or maybe they want to leave one parent for the kids.
Investigators have to have procedures to follow. Was still a possibility that the husband was in on it. They offered what they could. It's not like the case had gone before a jury already. I appreciate they could have shown a little more feeling, but please, they are cops, not kindergarten teachers. It's okay to be clean and have boundaries. They couldn't tell the husband what the wife said/etc. Nor can they advise him what to do.

I had an ex who was very much like this. Not to the extent of faking a kidnapping but would slap herself until her cheeks were red and then claim I hit her so I would go to jail and she would hit the bars and hook up with whoever she could. She was a very attractive woman so it worked for her for a while. Eventually one observant cop caught on and arrested her for filing a false report. During this period my life became a total hell and literally drove me to panic attacks and depression. I'm a very docile person who was raised to never hit a woman. Thank God I was eventually proven innocent but the damage she did lives on to this day. My son is 29 and hasn't spoken to his mother since he was 16. She lives only a few miles from him. I still encourage him to reach out to his mother but he wants absolutely nothing to do with her. I can tell it has a very negative effect on him. Narcisist behavior is so dangerous because they don't have feelings and people are just tools to exploit: no shame, no remorse, no mercy...they are sick self centered ..an endless manipulation
I was living in Redding and going to the community college there at the time this happened. I went to a city council meeting a couple days after she went missing and her husband took the stand there, holding their son and sobbing, he begged for her captors to release her and said how much he loved her and wanted her to come home, mentioning also that their kids needed her before he sat back down because he couldn’t talk anymore he was so upset.
Really really sad.
A few months before this at the college a student was walking to her car after a night class and was ACTUALLY almost abducted.
It scared the hell out of everyone at the college and in the local area, especially young women. We all thought that people were going around kidnapping blonde girls. Night class students were walked to their cars by security and the campus was really pressing about reporting anyone strange.
When she showed back up we all knew it was a scam. Pretty much all of Redding would talk about how she was a liar and a cheater. Years before her ex came forward the whole city was already assuming she had run off with some guy but had to come back because her family wasn’t giving up the search. The local facebook pages were full of Sherri Papini memes.
My guess is that she wanted to take advantage of this sadly not unheard of thing that happens in Redding and use it as an excuse to run off with her ex and get away from her family for a bit without them thinking she was a deadbeat.
Gross and sad. I’ll always feel bad for her husband. I’m assuming that after she came back he had put a few things together, but at that city council meeting he was obviously a very distraught and depressed man. I hope she enjoys jail.
Wait.....how come it was clear when she came back that she was a liar? She had a broken nose and a burned brand...what did you hear in those early days that was suspicious?
@@donperegrine922 the fact that she came back in and of itself was weird unfortunately. Everyone thought it was kid of crazy they would just let her go on the side of the road randomly. Also at the time the sheriffs office and police wouldn’t release anything about her condition. We didn’t know anything about any of her injuries. Basically it was “Sherri Papini found and safe”. And then like 2 days later they said she had gone home with her family. So we all thought, why would they let her go? Who took her? Is she mentally or physically injured? No one knew any details, it just seemed to make more sense that she was suspicious

Wow she really affected the community and put you all through an ordeal.
There's another woman who went missing around the same time who was totally overshadowed by this case, too. Her disappearance is still unsolved.
We need a psychological analysis here. What would drive someone to fake their own capture??? This is really bizarre.
I remember this case... I knew at the time something didn't add up but there weren't a lot of people willing to question it too deeply
The *AliExpress Gone Girl* lol

So her husband is AliExpress Affleck
She wanted attention and sympathy more than anything. In her mind this would make everyone appreciate her and treat her like she's special. It would make her husband never take her for granted. It would make everyone scared to lose her. The attention from the community, and any fame and fortune from it, is a bonus. There's no downside to her, this was a win-win situation.
Narcs want to be special above all else, and they don't give a shit what anyone else feels outside of how it affects themselves.
DONT STOP TILL UR PROUD but this is nothing to be proud of! Role model for ur children which makes this even more sick. Her husband & children whom she was supposed to LOVE not HURT! She hurt all the time of LE that couldve spent searching for real missing women!💜🙏💜✌️
Oh yeah she probably enjoys even the negative attention she is getting with a mind like that and you can tell she is used to turning on the water works and everything is alright, mummy and daddy probably made it all better because she is their special little Sherri who can do no wrong. Can't help think of Gone Girl.
Positive Negative attention
Makes 0 difference to a narc
Amen! Narcs that are psychopaths are pure evil and drain their victim drier than a vampyre!
If I was her husband I would have been scrolling on my phones for a divorce lawyer during the interogation. The one thing about narcs is that they ALWAYS play the victim. They second thing is they NEVER change. As Rhett Butler said, "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn."

This happened in my hometown around thanksgiving and there was a huge media frenzy around finding her and her husband pleading for her safe return while people thought he was involved! She let that search go through Christmas so during the holiday season this woman had people out in the cold looking for her when she knew damn well she is fine and safe. Disgusting!! The (debunked) 1st psychopath theory:
A psychopath was born. This was not normal and did not seem healthy. But it was a member of the group. People began to emulate this thing, mistaking its weakness for strength. Eventually a culture began and it spread across the world.
Now we know about the MOA gene but this theory always seemed close to the true, though still wrong of course, to me.
She was “found” on thanksgiving day though… what would Christmas have to do with this?

That she cannot immediately say that her husband should be with her in the room is a red flag right off the bat.

Its interesting watching keith and his actions during and after the interrogation. How he backs away from his wife at one point and stops looking in her direction as much. Then when he comes back in how he sits in her chair and immediately gets up and moves to the other chair. It almost feels like he knew this day was coming.

The #1 goal (and problem) is to keep the perp talking, any way possible. Snark or sarcasm does nothing for the investigation, the perp will quickly shut down or ask for a lawyer. I know someone like her. She claims that every ex she has was abusing her, but if you look closely they’re each paying one of her bills. Car, phone, groceries, whatever it is. Each has a different one. On top of that she was getting free rent from women in need. Was kicked out for having men over. Once she told me that her current boyfriend at the time was going to kill one of her exes. I hadn’t put it together at the time, but she was straight up setting him up to commit murder. I don’t talk to her anymore because she is so conniving and pulled similar stunts trying to get a few of us fired at work and at the same time trying to convince us to stage a mass walk out. She’s out there.
Is her name Crystal ?
My ex wife did that too. Went on a jolly with some bloke, then claimed she didn't want to go and he raped her. Made up some BS that he said he would kill me if I went after him or got police involved. I said "he can bloody keep you". I knew she was crying because she was guilty rather than the story she fed me. We were divorced 12 months after. The best bit is she actually thought I'd go back to her. 😂 Seriously delusional and selfish.
@Dehydrated Oddish luckily enough they tend to go through men until they find the most abusive insane felon they can run into and that’s who they stay with for the long haul, when they’re going through it though no single man nearby is safe

I thought the same thing when they found her. I said she probably was with her boyfriend. But she just kept lying about some woman let her go. I knew something wasn’t right. But now I know. This lady is crazy and brand herself, and had her nose broken too, that’s really crazy. I bet that boyfriend got tired of this nut and told her she had to go, or she miss her kids. But still in all she is still crazy.
