They used to pick you randomly. My daughter was celebrating her 30th birthday which was also her golden birthday. She was picked and the wand he picked for her was made of alder wood. Her Grandpa had passed away 5 years earlier. His hobby was woodworking. Someone gave him all this alder wood and it was his favorite to use. It was so cool and special. This was 4 years ago thank you for bringing back such a special memory.
I teared up watching you get your personal wand. That was so special. I’m in Iraq right now stuck on deployment and can’t come home till Jan. Been here a year now with no R&R 😅 I have been watching your videos all week and I think this video just made my year 😭❤️ Thank you so much for doing this.

I’m a Hufflepuff and am super cheap but when I was chosen out of crowd to be personally fitted in the wand show, you can bet your bottom dollar that I bought my wand! It really was one of my favorite parts of my UO trip!

We took my daughter on her 11th birthday, and she was the one selected for the wand choosing ceremony. It was one of the best experiences! I get chills when the music starts every time. :)
I really enjoyed watching your wand experience at Ollivanders! It took three times through for my nephew to be chosen. Fortunately we were there early and the crowds were light. Such a cool experience. It looked brighter in the room with the wand master. Thanks for sharing that fun day in Harry Potter land!
Slytherin, and totally on my Must Do list when I visit for the first time ever in December. (Yup, grown woman totally gonna do some magic because I am a child)
I did the same thing. My son was sleeping back at the hotel, and I (a grown woman) was wandering Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley with a reed wand and a bag of candy. Growing up is overrated.
Never have, never will see Harry Potter movies, but super impressed with the wow level that Universal is putting up these days. Molly thank you so much for your spot on professional videos while sharing the fun!

Not a Harry Potter fan but this park is incredibly immersive! I'm blown away by the attention to detail and the score they use to accompany the sets is gorgeous. The cast member who did the wand thingy was an excellent actor their performance made me tear up a bit lol. 😸 I'd like to visit one day

Great video thanks. My son loves Harry Potter and we had booked to go this year for Disney & Universal - from UK, but 2020 has put a stop to that! We are hopefully going to be able to go next year and would be the first time for us as a family. The wand buying experience looked great fun along with the opportunities to try out the interactive fun. The Harry Potter themed rides look awesome as well.

I absolutely love the interactive wands!! I don't care how old you are, go have fun with them! Who ever said you were too old to use an interactive wand? I have Luna's interactive wand and Hermione's non-interactive wand (as of now).
I wrestled with whether or not to buy and interactive wand and am so glad I did! Molly, I am a Slytherin and the ivy wand also chose me, so yeah I cried watching this video.

Being the 'odd' person that I am, my writting hand is right. While my magical hand is left... Doesn't make too much sense to me either. My wand (hazel) just felt wrong in my right hand. So I just go with it.
Also is it weird that I'm disappointed Molly has her mask right side up this video?

@@cavlizzy I'm pretty ambidextrous too, instrumentalist (mostly woodwinds but some piano) turned banker to pay the bills. Too bad I couldn't really work in the magical world. Such a bummer.

I got a personalised one when I went last time and it was amazing! It was quite expensive but I had so much fun using it with all the interactive windows in diagon alley! ❤️

Went last September with the family, a truly fantastic experience. Our first night there we went for Halloween Horror Nights, and literally stumbled into Diagon Alley by accident. It was nighttime, with very few people there, so we went in and reviewed the characteristics of each want, and then we chose the wands for each other based on how we interpreted each other's personality. It was truly magical to see Diagon Alley our first night, in the dark, and grab ourselves our wands. We watched a few of the wand experience shows the following days, but being with large groups, and all with kids, we didn't get a chance to be the chosen, which we were fine with! This honestly looks like such a better way to do it with appointments, and I hope that can stay in some form even when things open back up completely.
We have the same wand! When my hubby and I went last year we did the interactive experience (neither of us were chosen) but we both decided on wands. I got the Ivy interactive because I felt the description best matched me, and he got Sirius' wand. Both are displayed in a double wand holder we purchased from the Wizarding World in my office
My soon to be sister in law got picked during the Ollivander’s experience at Universal Hollywood during our trip there in December and the video is great😂😂
I love Harry Potter. I am a Gryffindor and my wand is cedar wood with a dragon heartstring core. My patronus is a dapple grey stallion (from the Wizarding World website, of course)

As an adult who loves Harry Potter I have done the Ollivanders experience 3 times (pre covid) and I continue to be upset they never chose adults for this. May be worth the trip right now just to know I’d be picked.
Our daughter is almost four...we’ve watched some of the less scary movies and she knows the characters. I’m already planning a trip for her 11th birthday! Olivanders will be our first stop. I’m honestly so incredibly excited for us to do this as a family. Only 7-ish years to go. 😂😂

It seems like the wand interactions in Island of Adventure is better than Universal but is there anywhere to purchase wands in Island of Adventure? We are planning on going to Island of Adventure first the taking the train to US

They don't even sell the type of wand that Pottermore gave me... Dogwood, pheonix feather core, 11" and slightly springy. Looking up their choices, dogwood doesn't even seem to be an option...
There is actually different hedwigs same color but like they way there grinned or there spots eyes tip I have a really cool one
