IMO, Adesanya is done holding the belt at 185. Sean Strickland cracked his code. IMO, Adesanya didnt look abnormal. He looked shook, but he stuck to his usual gameplan. honestly though, what would adesanya do differently in a rematch? adesanya is mainly a defensive fighter, and strickland is only an offensive fighter. sean would have much more confidence in his abilities going into the rematch, and i can't picture izzy trying to take risk and push the pace on strickland. i think the rematch goes even worse than the first fight, with izzy getting ko'd or tko'd badly.

1. He won against Pereira and then lost to Strickland just now. Logistically, the only way he does get it now is if he beats 2 contenders. If Izzy won at least 3 title defenses after he lost to Strickland, he would deserve it
2. There are greater contenders right now:
Dricus Du Plessis
Robert Whittaker
Jared Cannonier
Khamzat
Paulo is not a legit contender right now: look at his track record since after he fought Izzy:

9:37 yeah I think izzy would benefit from some time off. He’s been fighting every 2-6ish months since 2016 (minus him v. Whittaker in 2022). He’s never taken a full year off. I’d imagine not taking some time off causes some burnout, plus Izzy’s getting older.

Couldn’t agree more, Dricus deserves a title shot and so does the winner of Khamzat vs Costa. Izzy vs Whittaker is the fight that makes the most sense for both fighters, frankly there isn’t another fight involving Izzy that people would get hyped for. Their history alone sells that fight, winner gets back in the title picture.

He definitely was a dominant champion. I hope Strickland is as well. It’s hard to deny Izzy’s greatness though since he has still only lost 2 fights in the middleweight division.
