Totally agree with this, the smell is wonderful but the petals come off so quickly especially in the rain. Ours looks nothing like the catalogues I have seen as ours is very twiggy and grows tall but not very wide.
I was going to get this, as I have The Mayflower on the left in the back bed, so I thought it should go on the right to add continuity and repeat interest. Then I watched your video, and after hearing about the balling (The Mayflower will get plenty of sun, but be somewhat protected from the rain by the overhanging branches of a neighbor’s tree), I purchased Tranquility instead for that spot. Hopefully it will live up to its name and provide me with plenty of Tranquility from balling rosebuds!
Such a shame as it's a very pretty flower. If the buds ball up because of the wet, all you do is open the outer petals manually and take them off if necessary and it should bloom as normal. Also, if it's not flowering too well it may be planted too close to other plants. Roses are heavy feeders and so need a good root run with little competition.
Improve Sheffield all my roses are planted the same distance. I too try to make up excuses for her downfalls. Sadly it doesn’t get my royal warrant 😂 My mother won’t agree with me, she loves it.
Wie bezaubernd und schön ist diese Weise Rose 🌹! Unglaubliche Schönheit! Ich liebe Weise Rosen 🌹. Sie sind so Faszinierend!
Danke.
Just ordered this one and the new Elizabeth for a little memorial garden.

How much space inbetween each rose would you say is a minimum? Is need to do some re shuffling 🤪
I believe this is a color sport of sport of Mayflower
It is! That’s why the outer petals sometime have a tinge of pink on them
Sometimes it takes a few years for roses to come into their own. More than one or two, certainly.
