    When you roll up the windows, roll and tuck them underneath for a cleaner look and so it's less likely to collect moister 👌🏻 (learned that from another video)

    i understand why the upgrade stakes and footprint are not included, because a company wants to keep the price affordable, So the customer has the option of buying their product or making do with a tarp and cheaper stakes, Thanks Gazelle for the practical option.

  • @chomp54321

    This is a very nice tent and has received many positive reviews on YT. However, there seems to be no follow up reviews. Now that you've had it for a while, what do you think about the "front doors"? One reviewer mentioned that it is impossible to pull the zipper all the way down from inside, and that it is not easy to close the bottom of the doors completely to prevent insects from coming in because it is somewhat difficult to completely close the velcro. About the velcro, do you find the fabric/loop side frazzling out and not sticking well after repeated opening and closing? I think velcros invariable wear out. I wish they had put in zippers for the door bottoms.
    Also, what has been your experience using it in heavy rain? Was there any leak?
    Maybe you can put out a follow-up video on this tent?
    Thanks for your help.

    What are the dimensions of the footprint and thickness? Is the purpose of the footprint for added water proofing or to protect floor of tent from wear and tears? Should the footprint stick out a few inches or feet beyond the edges on all sides of the tent, or be totally hidden under the tent?

    • @newenglandscrambler2262
      @newenglandscrambler2262 Před rokem

      It's primarily to help protect the bottom of the tent. The footprint should be fully hidden underneath, or it will funnel rainwater under the tent and possibly flood it.

  • @coreywangler
    @coreywangler Před 3 lety

    Great review. I am torn between the T4 plus and the T4 overland edition because of the footprint and upgraded stakes. How large of a tarp are you using for a footprint? Does the tarp completely cover the whole bottom (t4 side and screen side) or just the t4 side?

    • @goprojo6831
      @goprojo6831  Před 3 lety +1

      I’m using a 7-1/2 ft. X 9-1/2 ft. Tarp. The 7-1/2 ft. Width just covers the tent side to side but the 9-1/2 ft. Is not long enough to capture the tent front to back. So I had the whole back part of the T4 on the tarp and the front open part was only half way on the tarp. I’ll probably get a larger tarp eventually to serve as a complete footprint.
      The overland edition does look awesome but I couldn’t pass on the additional space.

    • @gazelle7736
      @gazelle7736 Před 3 lety +5

      @@gazelle7736 Thank you for replying to my comment. As a potential customer, allow me to provide some feedback. Having to pay to purchase extra equipment to properly secure and provide protection to a product is not the best business practice. There are numerous reviews on CZcams that show the T4 having visible wear and tear in the bottom liner, The carrying bag forming holes, as well as how the provided tent stakes do not hold up. The appeal of the overland edition is that these issues are corrected. Most people are not afraid spend a little more for a good quality product, but we should not have to spend time (or money) finding solutions to get to that quality. If your T4 Overland edition has been successful at all, then either come out with an overland edition for your T4+/T8 models, or include them with the product already

    • @gazelle7736
      @gazelle7736 Před 3 lety +3

      @@coreywangler the tent comes with stakes and guy-lines. A footprint is not totally necessary floors are removable so if you were ever to have an issue they could be replaced. There is not a designed opening for an electric cord, but you can easily run a cord through the bottom tub liner and where it Velcro’s to the wall. I’ve done this the past two times camping and it works quite well. There’s also a little overlap on the outside at the liner connection so it keeps and outside moisture out pretty well.

    • @goprojo6831
      @goprojo6831  Před 3 lety

      There’s a bunch of space with all of the netting and mesh pouches that are attached to the walls but to answer your question, no I’m not sure there’s any spot you could really mount or hang additional storage cubbies. The side pole frames are diagonal so it would be a little tricky hanging from that. You could probably hang a storage pouch or something from the top frame pieces but would also be in danger of collapsing the tent if you put something too heavy in it.

A house inspector doesn't care how is your kitchen appliances organised, whether you put single or double door on entrance, how roomy your living room is, how big your bathtub is. What you did is an overview, a short summary, first impressions. Review requires you to take a product and use it in different conditions. If you'd make a review of a flashlight you'd would turn it on twice in the dark and said oh yeah this flashlight is amazing because it actually works. You wouldn't take the time to see how long it can run on different light intensity? You wouldn't try to, I don't know, bash it or drop it on the ground to check the build quality? Dude. You didn't mention pros and cons of the tent, nothing wrong with the tent? Nothing to improve? Oh no wait, yeah the stakes are aluminium and it doesn't come with a ground sheet, right. How waterproof, windproof is the tent, how is it in the cold, hot conditions, how good is the condensation ? Those are just a few, necessary things you have to mention when making a tent review, but you can't possibly know all that, because you actually used it once.
