I think that Taro's name is probably one of the cutest. Like, it's just a regular, popular name.
Its also a name to many folk story heroes. So its kinda like "John".
Trigger's name from what i've heard from other people was also meant to mean to start something new. I guess he fits that well since he's the first ultra to be a heavily based on Tiga.
Maybey. As I mentioned in the video, only official statement we have is just "If you say Tiga with a accent in Japanese it soudns like" Toriga" so we named him Trigger "
The "Nexus" meaning is actually amazing when you thinks about the show
Ogh yeh.
I cut out a lot of names from this video, since it started to get a bit lenghty, but I knew I needed to give Nexus his time, since his name is legit interesting.
I have to correct a point. Ultraman is not a name given by humans, it's a species name. After Hayata merges with Ultraman, Ultraman’s awareness takes control of Hayata’s body while Hayata’s awareness is sleeping. That means whether Hayata takes any action or says any word is Ultraman controlling it. In the final episode, after Ultraman separates from Hayata, Hayata regains his awareness and doesn't have a memory of coming across Ultraman and everything afterward. When Hayata calls the giant alien Ultraman to his comrades is Ultraman confessing his name to humans. The Ultraman is a species name of the alien race who come from nebula M78
I meant it more as "Ultra's language isn't the same, but if translated to Earth'ish it would come out as Ultraman". Sorry that it didn't come out that way.
@@silverfoil8854I watched that part again. Ultraman has a different language from humanity. Their species' name in their language translates into Ultraman in human language. Ultraman in Hayata’s body has to speak human language to his comrade so he calls the giant alien Ultraman.
@zhengmingfan2635 yeh, that's what I wanted to convey.

What
As someone who knows Ultraman Jack shit about the Ultraman franchise this was a very informative video
Thanks chief.
I always thought Decker's name comes from the word Deka, which while I can't find an exact translation, usually it's used to describe something big or huge. The Romanji translation always Has Decker pronounced as "Dekkā"
Deka means 10.Or 10 times.
@@silverfoil8854 I saw, it's just that it seems whenever in anime someone sees something big, they usually say "Deka!" But that could also work if it means he's 10 times the size of a human. Or perhaps it has to do with the number of cards he has.
Well "dekai" Is Japanese for "huge".
While in Japanese " Deka" itself is a slang for detective (the same way in English we say "dic").
The Dyna in Ultraman Dyna mean Dynamic (Power)
Ultraman Wiki, and show say otherwise.
Taiga is reiwa ultra not a heisei ultraman
Tell that to Tsubarayas marketing team...
But for serious. Its a tad mixed with me, I feel he is kinda both.
@@silverfoil8854 because 2019 was the traditional year beween heisei and rewia
