@@frenchieseverine1966 why's it a pitty? The music is always there to listen to? As i remember it they were accompanied by more than quite a few vocalists along the way, with some stunning voices. They are just a superbly tight band who have a really infectious love for their music and what it means. Brought the funk back and played it to the people who had forgotten how good it could be and rekindled it in the ones who could still remember how it used to be. There was no one doing it as well as they did it at that time. And that music makes you feel good! That's why i love them because it never fails.
I agree with you. And not to split hairs but this music still holds today, so I wouldn't say it's an underrated band of the nineties, but it's an underrated band regardless of the time period. Shit... even B.C., they should have been grooving to this
I always come back to this song and play it 5times over , just need a fix of it every once in a while and it always hits the spot. Great video aswell. Generally a great example of an acid jazz track.
This song is sooo groovy, "I LOVE IT" love the harmony in the rephrase backround of "Sometimes" ... The lyrics are perfect.. My favorite song for the moment...
The last of great Music!!!!!... Another great underated group ....... As I've stated there'll never be groups like the 90$ ever again....... !!!!.....😔😔😔...... This era is once in a lifetime.!✌️
you're lookin at a transformation thats brought about a change in me, love;s a brand new situation, never have I felt so free......at this time in my life, these words are very true. This song takes me back to Cleveland, Ohio 2005 when i was goin thru some things, but it's all good now!!!
The main singer is lovely..and i love this song.Awesome lyrics.."Sometimes You got do right to be happy .You got to believe in what you feel inside.Sometimes you .got do right"..So true! We all have to follow our heart and desires and listen to ourselves to find happiness.Love this song, LOVE IT.The music is great too, terrific!!Wow!!
❤❤thank you my favourite DJ..Musi Khumalo 🇿🇼 before you left for greener pastures abroad...you used to play this song when exiting the show and l grew to love it...m still hooked in 2023🎉❤🎉❤🎉
I love the Brand New Heavies and I adore Siedah Garrett, this video with Hugh Hefner is timeless, what a great idea! I remember playboy after dark with Barbi Benton, it's funny, I'm so use to Siedah with braids, at first I thought the lead singer was Fran Dressler! Lol!
Siedah was, perhaps, my favorite vocalist of all in the Brand New Heavies. This song is a contender for my favorite from them as well. Yeah, she is gorgeous as well.
Amo este grupo, la voz y el sonido es espectacular. Los descubrí en 1990, me compré todos los cd's y los hice conocidos por todo mi entorno de amigos músicos en Buenos Aires. Qué épocas... ésto sí es buena música!!!
that is me in the BROWN dress on the stage and breaking up the fight at the end. Thank you for hiring me, that was such a good shoot! Wishing you the best. Valentina
Love Seidah, she made this tune for me, never had time for BNH, but, this tune freaked me. Still love it, posted this clip to my Facebook. Soul and R&B Rules...Defy that???
When the great Hugh Hefner tells you that you’re going into the other room with him and his guests and listen to The Brand New Heavies, you just do it! Don’t wanna get kicked out of the party and lose the chance of getting some! Plus, they’re a great band to listen to!
Luv BNH finally got to see em Live last year at a Festival in Cornwall-Impressed wiv New Lead Singer=Angela Ricci-N'Dea Davenport woz My Fave...Cool n Funky Band
this song reminds me of a very painful period in my life when I had to do examination re-takes at university while some of my peers had began getting employment, I still had to read to pass - very lovely song if you ask me!!!
brand new heavies. . . . . cool as fuck! i sang this song on x factor and got through to the boot camp, gunna have another stab on next years series so keep ur eyes peeled.
I'm chuffed to have seen The BNH with Seidah Garrett in 1997 at The Anvil Basingstoke. I remember it was June 4th because it was my birthday and she signed my card. They were just as good live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The most underrated band of the nineties.
Yes and i loved Brand new heavies and the vocalist was so terrific. She had a powerful voice and was gorgeous.Such a pity!!

Siedah Garrent sang on TBNH's 3rd vocal album 'Shelter' (from '97).

AMAZING.
AND IT STILL SOUNDS SO GOOD!
A masterpiece
most people here are totally unaware what a popular and successful songwriter Siedah Garrett is. Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson knew, though.
Yes. Man In The Mirror which she wrote and in my opinion was MJ’s last most powerful song. Salute Queen Siedah
True, Man in the Mirror for example.
@@garywoollard4255 i'm equally fond of Brenda Russell's writing and few people know about her.
i really miss the 90's
Me too.

I really loved this song - it was cool, but so so much fun.
I love N'Dea Davenport, and I think she's a better fit for the Brand New Heavies, but Siedah is a great singer, and she killed this song.

Out here in 2020 still sounds amazing as the first time i heard this. The Brand New Heavies should have had more exposure worldwide
Yes, indeed BNH should be a household name but I feel like I'm one of the lucky ones who knew about them when they first came out! Still listening....

She was right up there with N'Dea Davenport...both top notch singers.
Agreed. I think Shelter is their best album too.
christocr yea agree with you just great feeling in her voice
N'dea Davenport was the best .They had more hits with N'dea.
No one will ever supersede N' Dea and the BNH together they made magic. This was a decent album but...
Still diggin this 2019
23 yrs and still sounding good!
Oh! Simon's haircut is so cool! (of course he looks still really good) ;)
@3:49 one of the hottest end sexiest guitar solos ever played. You do not need to be a metal shredder.

Love love love this song!!!!! Brand New Havies rules! ❤️
It wasn't just Badboys and Deathrow beef . The 90s also had groups like this. I'm glad I had the chance to see them at the House of Blues and N.O.
Neo Soul was in full effect among Eurodance, dancehall, jungle house, scatting was brought back, roll & roll wasn't Disneyed, etc.
It's 2018 and I wake up having this song in my head
who is still loving this jam in 2022?

Love this song. Went into a shop today and they were playing this. A favourite.
This proves siedah Garnett can do more than a duet with Michael Jackson.

The Brand New Heavies es el mejor grupo de acid jazz...y ademas tienen mucho estilo...
That lady singing is incredibly beautiful
That's Siedah Garrett. She wrote "Man In The Mirror" for Michael Jackson
A fascinating glimpse into TV's past.
