Thanks a lot for this, really like your videos.
But would you ever consider making a/some videos where you do this in real time and talk through your thought process and the tools you use? That would be really helpful for me as a beginner to sculpting.

I cant seem to select all four sides and extrude evenly. Your move tool moves to the center but mine stays on the active face making an extrusion even only on 3 of the sides. Ive found no answers and Im on a Mac

Would you add more subdivision in order to prevent the pixelation of the stencil?

Amazing work, but were or how do you get those textures could you show us?
And at about 9:30 , you start to make every single side by hand, i would recommend after doing one side to delete all the others and to use a circular array (just type in youtube "blender circular array"). I think especially when doing architecture precision and consistency is very important.

Pixologic alpha library could be a nice starting point pixologic.com/zbrush/downloadcenter/alpha/. In general, you just have to search gumroad/artstation/google images for 'brush decorations alphas'. I've found a few already, but it seems all of the high quality packages with 50+ alphas cost some money. Of course, you can always try modelling/sculpting them yourself for good practice :) Then you can look up some youtube videos on here for how to create your own custom brushes for Blender so that you can reuse the decorations.
You can do this without having to leave sculpt mode, as well. There is a radial symmetry option available through the symmetry drop down menu. Just set Z to 4 in this case, and everything you do will be mirrored to all 4 sides of the pillar.

@@michaelleon3999 Thank you very much for that pixologic website.
And yes, you are right that would be a much easier way to mirror all sides.

I'm sorry that i have to write this review.
The Tutorial was poorly connstructed, it went way too fast, and was unclear in some circumstances.
It could be nice with no music, and some voices to talk to us, makes it alot easier.
I have no doubt that your skill in blender is really good, and i can see that, but if you want to make it on youtube, it could be nice if the tutorial was easier.
