Thank you! It may not be the same for everyone, but SA cleansers have helped me prevent ingrowns (only use on certain areas of the body). I always apply a light oil in the shower right after I turn the water off. Then follow up with whatever heavier moisturizer I feel my body needs. If I feel my skin needs that extra nourishment, I reach for LaRoche Posay Lipikar Eczema Soothing Relief Cream. I don’t know what it is about that cream, but my skin LOVES it. It very chemical heavy (it has SA in it too), so not sure if I’d recommend it for very sensitive skin.
Some other chemical exfoliators are: topicals ingrown tonic, topicals body serum, oui the people full disclosure scrub, and oui the people cheat sheet body serum.
I've actually brought moisture back to my skin with coconut milk powder. I've used it as a mask and made a scrub with it. Exfoliating helps so so so much 🥰
I am very prone to this and I find that kojic acid works really well to prevent this. Any soap & lotion w/ kojic acid works just fine. It even removes spot faster. Since I started using Kojic soaps they’re gone.
I started applying baby oil after my showers, including my face, and my skin has never been happier. Still break out the moisturiser if I’m feeling a little dry, but far less often than before.
Thermal water also might help. My legs were so dry they had a white layer/cast, but once I got a treatment with thermal water I had no problem for six months~
I'm so glad to see products actually labeled as body serums. I had an issue with the skin on my hands after moving from Florida to a state that has all 4 seasons. The skin on my hands became dry and occasionally would crack. I tried several lotions, body creams and oils. But eventually found the right products for my skin. Since then my hands are finally softer than they've been in 4 years. I needed to combine an oil (jojoba) then a lotion and then something thick to trap all of that in before bed. Plus I found a good exfoliating glove. All of these worked together so well for me. Now I'm looking to try chemical exfoliaters and some good body serums that work as well. I heard someone say (years ago) that products that work on the face won't work on the body. But the skin throughout our bodies needs to be cared for as well.
Use gold bond rough and bumpy, then top it with a good smelling body butter or lotion. It’s worked for my strawberry legs and ingrowns. the occlusive layer is important because since water evaporates very easily, lack of a “fatty” layer results in persistent dehydration.
I worked for a doctor and he always told his patients that cream is the best form of moisturizer and to not use oil
cream is a water and oil emulsion. he likely doesnt recommend oil alone because most people are dehydrated and apply it to dry skin.
You're so intelligent
I cover my entire body in butter like Kramer in Seinfeld.
I sweat a lot i cant moisturize my body because of whatever put on my skin it flows
I get that on my calves, I'll definitely try this. So body butter then oil?
whichever moisturizer (lotion, body butter or oil) you prefer applied to damp skin. that’s it, thats the main point.
