Out of curiosity, is it typical in Dallas for places to let you pick what brisket section you get? Is it an obstacle for the restraunt if everyone picks the fatty parts and the lean parts go mostly uneaten?
IMO pecan lodge has fallen off in general. Maybe not fallen off as much as not kept up with everyone else.

recommendation, warm peach cobbler and vanilla ice cream, also see if you can find Dublin sodas(the original makers of Dr. pepper ), also for the giggles see if you can get to an HEB , their tortillas are pretty good especially the butter ones(the ice cream their is also really good), also also try poking around fort worth, I personally find it a bit more pleasant than Dallas

Bluebell comes in behind Tillamook by a good bit IMO, I really prefer the extra creaminess. Mudslide is top tier flavor, and all the fruit/pie flavors slap!
