ABSTRACT
In this session, we’ll look at some practices that help to perform architectural work that’s actually useful, as opposed to the kind of work that’s perceived by everyone (except the architect) as a waste of time and effort. We’ll address why it’s necessary to consider architectural aspects, why it’s so easy to draw the wrong conclusions and make everyone’s lives miserable, and how we can prevent this from happening.
Topics addressed include the right amount of upfront thinking, the merits of boring technology, managing technical challenges, creating malleable structures, and integrating humans and organization into architectural work. [...]

RIP Stefan, thanks for all legacy you left behind you.
RIP Stefan. Your confidence in technical opinions helped guide me in many moments when it all felt like chaos. Legacy for sure. ❤
Stefan's talks are so pithy and practical. RIP legend.
RIP Stefan. Thank you for the legacy you have built and the knowledge you have brought us.
My condolences ❤
Stefan was indeed a beacon of expertise, I had the privilege of attending a talk of him at OOP.
Despite his talk of catchy titles, it was actually his name that got me to click this one -- and the knowledge that with that name come great thoughts.
He will be missed.
23:00 (too much credit to Nuclear Industry)
28:40 Accessibility sucks!
29:30 "Aspects" and cross cutting concerns.
31:00 (starting to realize how much my job sucks)
31:30 "Nobody cares about their diagrams." (I feel attacked)
35:25 Don't aim for perfection. Iterate!
38:40 Get out of other people's way
39:51 "...quality requirements: the thing we used to call Non-FUNctional requirements until we figured out that name sucks..." (yaas. This is great.)
Vale my friend
RIP Stefan.
