It's a shame these victims can't finish their sentences about what they went through without being cut off

Smart defense tactic. Limits the statements of witnesses and victims to concise bursts instead of a long sob story that can be pulling on the juries heartstrings and at the same time dragging the proceedings on. A good witness will answer quickly and shortly in order to achieve maximum efficiency in the context of getting the evidence and testimony out in a streamlined fashion. It’s better for these witnesses to get to the point and avoid the story telling, as it only distracts from the main point of questioning.
Also, it’s just a defense attorney thing regardless. If you’re on trial and your attorney isn’t trying to help you - then you need a new lawyer.

Witnesses are supposed to give statements not stories

I agree, it is sad and seems very cold and callous. Members of the jury will likely sense and pickup on this too. Further, victims usually have an opportunity to expand on their experience if they wish during victim impact statements.

You hate her for her doing her job? The witnesses are there to provide testimony for evidence. They cannot go off on tangents on what others said or experienced. Hence why the Judge sustains the objections. This isn't a documentary, this is a courtroom.

I’ve had to do lengthy testimony. It’s interesting as I had the same types of objections. Later the attorneys explained that there are a few people like myself whose personalities tend towards “narrative” type testimony. I’ve watched nearly all these testimonies & It’s interesting as I recognize he does the same thing as myself, and there is a difference when you compare it to the other testimonies. I gtee the lawyer explained it later to him & likely prepped him before hand; he won’t feel slighted no worry.
