Dehumidifier push button controls not working

- My Goldstar/LG dehumidifier controls got stuck at 70 percent and can't be changed. I'm not surprised given the vibration the dehumidifier generates. The model number of my humidifier is Goldstar DH404EY6.
The repair for the unresponsive panel control buttons is generally the same. This is the same repair for radios, TVs and any appliances that use tactile push buttons. Replace the bad momentary switches (tactile push buttons).
The momentary switches are very inexpensive and you can get 50 or a hundred of them on eBay for a few dollars.
While I was at it, I reflow the solder on the connectors. The humid condition and the vibration generated make these switches prone to failure.
People often throw these dehumidifiers out when the push buttons don't work but it is actually a fairly easy fix.
The repair for unresponsive microwave key panel is similar. Microwaves use a key membrane that can be replaced and the microwave operable again.

I've had these types of buttons fail on an espresso machine, and an electronic scale. I thought it was due to the heat, but you mention it could be due to vibration, which I hadn't thought of. Thanks for the video.
Yes, these fail over time but with high humidity, vibrations and oxidations, you’ll have a unresponsive control. Also when you press the buttons often enough, it gets out of alignment slightly, making a positive contact difficult. Reinstalling the circuit correctly will make for a better contact and operation.
What size are the momentary switches that you got?
Look at this video at 4.11 mark. Buy ones that look like that. They are: 6x6mm Series Small Momentary Tactile Push Button Switch DIP 2 Pin . Very inexpensive on eBay or maybe Amazon.

@@melissaschrade2440 I should wire an external switch. It’s hard to press the switch in the right spot. Not a good design for the switches.
