what i love the most is how Frye’s concerned about how this publicity stunt w/ the sisters was careless, thoughtless, and affects their reputation (Fame), Shiver is concerned about the hard cash she missed out on (Money), and Big Man is wanting friendly relations between Inkopolis and Splatsville musicians (Love); so completely in character of them.

I think people can forget how frye has kind of a Fiery personality when not on air or in front of fans when she is depicted or comes off as sweet through her movements and design. Shiver is like a mob boss, in other words, a cold blooded lone shark.

I like that in-universe, Deep Cut released a hot new track that starts with thirty seconds of two members of the band berating the third for making music with someone else. It’s like if a Nirvana song started with them just un-lyrically yelling at Dave Grohl for going with the Foo Fighters.

I think since they released it as is, it really is just part of the act that the three of them put on-- and with Deep Cut having a respect for the Squid Sisters (especially Boss Marie!), I feel that all of this is just on a high band-rivalry level rather than an actual personal vendetta.
...Now I'm imagining the two of them hoping they didn't diss BIg Man too hard after they were done with their lyrical parts

I won my first 100x battle while this song was in the background.
It is now my new favorite splatoon song.
This is what I got from the song. Frye is actually hurt from Big Man probably not telling them that he collaborated with the squid sisters and gets even more ticked of when he says it “Ian BGM” knowing DAMN well they are the same person. Shiver is PISSED that she didn’t get to take advantage of the opportunity of a collab. Plus Frye is much more emotional in this song and almost overtakes the whole song while both Shiver and Big Man are pretty quiet.

Shiver and Frye were most likely a bit miffed when they found out he collabed behind their backs _(since they shouldn't actually mind the Squid Sisters all that much - they said themselves that they're always down to tour with their Bosses)._ Shiver's reaction is more passive-aggressive, and Frye is more aggressive-aggressive, at least verbally.
To make it up to them (and bring in some money for Deep Cut to share this time), Big Man wrote a song about their behind the scenes scuffle and his "betrayal".
What we're hearing is mostly them playing it up for the camera, not genuine trust being lost.

Guys, Big Man hasnt been abused or is in a toxic situation. Not only did he compose this song, the lyrics literally colourcode that he is singing during the chorus. Anarchy Rainbow and Anarchy Poisons will remain the default Splatfest hub themes (unless you go to Inkopolis.)

Not only is this song a banger, but I love how it shows the relationship between these 3 even more. I was a bit hesitant on this trio at first and thought they wouldn’t compare to the other 2 idol groups, but their chaotic antics are slowly making them one of my favourite idol groups, second only to Callie and Marie.

This song shows each member's poison. Frye is really mad at Big Man for the supposed "betrayal" (Anger), Shiver mentions she wants to profit from future collabs (Greed) and Big Man was ignorant in his decision with a dream of harmony (Ignorance).
I love that they're setting up little stories with these Splatfest songs. Hopefully it culminates with all the idols getting together for one big collab in a future splatfest (Squid Sisters v Off the Hook v Deep Cut?).

I just came here from Suffer No Fools with Off the Hook, and I just want to say that there should be an extra verse where Big Man blows up and just gives Shiver and Frye the business for collaborating with Off the Hook as a rebuttal for Frye and Shiver dissing him. Though, he might be too nice for that.

Frye tho would be a good leader, in the story she offered to split the treasure with neo agent 3, she’s taken over the massive cube thingy which wouldn’t have been easy, and in the deep cut intro in the story, she introduced the whole team and was standing more infront which shows she has a lot of confidence which is good traits for a leader
Plus if your worried about the badges and banners you get them all doesn’t matter the team

This is actually a fascinating concept for a new splatoon game if Nintendo goes all out with it, the concept of the next idle group, having a falling out as the splat fests and lifespan of the game progresses is really cool to think about

Seeing so many people say that you should vote for Big Man because he is willing to collaborate with others, makes me realize that not many understood the song, the song is about how Big Man betrayed Shiver and Frye for not telling them he was going to collaborate with the Squid Sisters, and betraying your own group by collaborating with a rival band without telling them anything is not a good aspect of a Capable leader. (but honestly no one in Deep cut would be a good leader, that's the fun part Ps: sorry for the english, not my first language)

I really feel like people are being dramatic with the term betraying. All he did was do one song with squid sisters, it's not like he completely ditched deep cut and joined squid sisters. Also he already is a leader of his own clan btw.
They use the word treason when it has nothing to do with it. They see it as a betrayal because THEY DID NOT MAKE A PROFIT, bigman collaborated for free and their group only sees money and fame. If you are with a group of people who only see things out of pure interest and someone else comes to ask you in a friendly way for a friendly collaboration, is it ok to let your group take advantage of you and the situation because that's all they see? Since the beginning Shiver and Frye have been misbehaving with him, and it's not since now, it's since the beginning when they told him he was just the mascot. They say betrayal betrayal, but they don't see the whole picture that has been going on since the beginning.

Something interesting I noticed about the song is that in the dialogue part, Frye and Big Man’s lines are shaky and jittery, while Shiver’s lines aren’t. Granted, Big Man is being yelled at so he would be afraid but this implies that Frye is also full of emotion, meaning she might be genuinely very hurt with him going behind their backs and collaborating with the Squid Sisters. Shiver was likely also as hurt but is able to keep her emotions to herself while Frye blows up. This song is still a banger and I can’t wait to hear it in-game!
I’m on Team Frye by the way! She’s equal parts kind and strong so I think she’ll be the best leader (even though her being indecisive and easily distracted might lead to her downfall).

in the hero mode there was nothing there that said big man met the squid sisters before and the song being talked about in this video came out after the launch of the game meaning big man probably collabed with the squid sisters after hero mode
