    when rick did 5 generation driver testing i think the only company that improved from model to model was titleist - so while these might not be out of this world i respect the fact they do improve no matter how small and are not brining our new gear every 6 weeks

      Cobra did also. He did Cobra f9, then Cobra Speedzone, then Cobra LTDX and each step up he would gain 5 yards or so on average carry distance. F9 was around 285, SZ was around 290-300, and the LTDX was 300 - 307 I think was his longest with it

    Rick.
    Before watching any of your videos I was a walking billboard (on the course) for Titleist. Because of you, I have opened up my eyes and started testing / using new brands. Currently have a Cobra driver and a TaylorMade wood.
    Trust that your videos are serving a great purpose to a lot of golfers, at all different handicaps.
    Thank you for your honest feedback.

My eye's spun, but since then always try and use the best quality balls I can to practice with, especially short game. Can't believe people who practice short game with range balls.

    One of my local pros told a guy who asked him if "THIS Driver" which he had in his hands, really added 20 yards, and his reply was, if that was the case, by now I'd be hitting a driver over 600 yards...fixing your swing and contact spot adds yards....get lessons, fix that swing, then get fitted and that will add yards.

    I was swinging an old Cleveland Hibore with a R flex shaft. Used to hit it a ton. I was out of golf for awhile and I’ve gained weight and gotten a bit stronger. I went and got fitted for a new driver. Out of 5 different brands I swung the TSi3 improved me the best. My dispersion was great and I went from 105mph club head speed to 114mph with the Hzrdus smoke RDX 6.5. Spin down from 5800!!! To 2700. Went from 240 carry to 285 carry. It’s amazing how different clubs work for different people!! Cheers! Love the content!!

But I have to have up playing the game for awhile now because my irons and hybrid where stolen from me and I don’t have that kind of money to spend to get the same irons and hybrid my friend lended me his ping irons for the time being but hes starting to play more now so I had to return them back to him.My heart hurts because I love this game you helped me enjoy and grow with this game, and even that my irons and hybrid was stolen from me I will still love this game. Just came back from a fitting. Great experience. Tried all the new drivers and the TSi2 came out on top for me. Did not expect it at all especially against the g425, Rogue Max Cobra LTD and Stealth. It makes such a big impact on confidence.

    • @cheemomugdoo799
      @cheemomugdoo799 Před 2 lety

      Me too, but it was the TSi3 for me. I had been using a 913 for years, and it was just too spinney. The fitter was a bit perplexed as to why since my swing is pretty neutral, but of all the drivers we tried (Mizuno, Callaway, Cobra, Ping, Titleist) it was the best. The Ping was close, and more forgiving, but on the best swings the Titleist was the winner. Of course the TSR's will be out soon, but from this video I bet they will be very close in performance to the TSi series.

  • @deejayreimer57

    Bought the TS2 which was an upgrade from my 913 and I'm getting almost 20 more yards on it. The technology put into the TS series is hard to get better when it's already near the top! Love my Titleist driver and bought it a few weeks ago when they're clearing them out... If you can get a ts2 or 3 do it for a fraction of the price!

    Rick- a couple years ago I purchased a TS1 after being fitted by the assistant pro at my home club. I absolutely love it. I need a forgiving driver as I am a high handicap golfer (25) with a slower swing. It only carries about 160-180 yards, 200 yards if I really hit it well, but much straighter. With watching your videos on hitting a driver, I have improved a lot this summer. Keep up the good work. Jim

    Had a custom fitting yesterday and left with the TSi3. My original driver was a 20-year-old Titleist 983k which I love. Did I notice a difference. OH YES! Amazing. Hit the TSi2 and TSi3 drivers today. i I think you nailed the review! Higher handicapper and found the TSi2 more forgiving for me with a tighter landing distribution. Had more issues with control on the TSi3, so my preference was the TSi2. My distance on each was similar with about 250 carry and 260-270 total (trackman, 10-12 deg launch, low spin rate)

      The TXG club reviews are great. There are a lot of tour pros (not contracted) that put a TSi driver in their bag for a reason. The review from Rick was a let down...I don’t believe that he was even fitted for the drivers. Fitters want spin rates to be closer to 2000 rpms for his swing speed and the backspin on his TSi2 was at 2800 rpms.

    I think it would be cool if you started incorporating more mid to high handicapper data in your reviews. I’m sure most of your subscribers are in that range and it would be interesting to see what this new tech does for a golfer with lower swing speed and higher chance of missing center of the club. Maybe not the best time to start doing it due to quarantine/social distancing but it would be cool to see more of it when you feel it’s safe.

I'm also coming from a Titleist D913 or 915 I can't remember. Either way, very old tech. The sound is definitely muted on the new drivers compared to my current one. When it comes to drivers it's all about the spin, then feel & looks. All drivers from the big manufacturers are going to get the same ball speed w/in 1 mph or so. COR is maxed out so speed off the face is not going to change. All they can work with is spin, forgiveness and launch by moving weight around. You need to get it dialed in to the right spin rate for you and then it's down to feel and looks. I picked up a G410 and it slots right into the 200-2200 rpm range for me and it goes about as far as a driver can go with my 90-95 mph swing speed. Very happy with it.
